  • uhm how is a teenager supposed to deal with ADD/ADHD symptoms? I;m in 10 grade and I never been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD but I have tons of symptoms of it. Nobody understands my problems and I dont know what to do...

  • @BellatrixDeathEater1

What you need to do is say something to someone in authority. Tell someone in guidance, or the school therapist, your parents, your doctor. Do not keep it to yourself if it is causing a problem. "How is a teenager supposed to deal?" they are not, they need to seek help.

So seek out some help. Good luck. You've made the first step by identifying their may be an issue.

  • I started a medicine called concerta. Started at the lowest dosage which im not sure I remember right was 10mg daily. From there I went to 20mg and then 40 I think. While my concentration greatly improved my sleep patterns were becomming very weird. One day I completely fliped out at work, went to the president of the company told him I quit. I then followed him to my supervisor and then cursed him out. Luckily they did not fire me and I am not on that medication any longer.

Whenever you start ANY medication like this, you need to communicate regularly with your doctor and family. Even small changes need to be noted. 1 Medication is not for everyone. Thanks for sharing your story.

  • I have ADD ADHD and they think im bipolar, i tried meds, but i suicidal so they took me of them, im a 13, and haven't taken them since 4th grade. but this is only me. :) I fell more happy now, but im still having trouble with my teachers

  • dude i have add. they put me on riddeln. it screwd me over. it felt like my intire body was numb and i couldnt feel anything it was scary

  • @MrDroopdog1 . One medication is not right for everyone, ALWAYS be sure to communicate with your parents, doctor and people you trust. If they don't listen to you, then you have larger problems that no medication is going to help but family therapy might.

  • My parents once believed that I had A.D.H.D. My grades were more then decent (A's and B's). I think they spectulated it because I landed into some trouble in school (multiple fights). I took mediciation for 2 year's, but there were no results. I'm currently going into 9th grade and haven't taken any med's since 7th.

  • what are the symptoms of add? because my dad thought i could possibly have it. but im not sure how i can get checked for it. just go to a regualr doctor or a specialist?

  • First step may be to see family doctor, or school therapist.

  • thanks
