  • you must run! the gremlins are coming!

  • the gremlins want to steal it, cant you hear? you must run!

  • how about AFTER MELTER

  • lol first thought was "hot section check." granted, its an afterburner system, if it was truly after the fans then its only the nozzle that gets the cooker. still, what were you using for the metal that it didnt warp under the stresses while that hot?

  • Nice minivan.

  • Sounds like a brain scrambler

  • Do you really need an afterburner?

  • RED ROCKET... sry

  • damn the neighbors must love u

  • that has to be one of the scariest things ive seen

  • Ill give you 5 bucks if you touch it

  • Hey Dare you to put your hand on it ;D

  • Who has the hamburgers and hot dogs?

  • that insane, you are a potential jet fighter engine engineer, if you built that on your own.

  • i was waiting for something to blow up lol sounded like demon's taking over the cam

  • @dragonart777 : How would you know what denons sound like? EYE..know what demons sound like

  • pero anda o no?

  • wtf breeze cam! Buy a descent camera!

  • stick your member in there.

  • spoon34, the afterburner is by injecting extra fuel after the turbine

  • ich bin ein amischwein

    amipig

    fuck you

  • put your toungue on that orange thing and tell me if it feels hot....

  • man i just whant to tutch that thing looks funny

  • who has the marshmallows

  • U eject too much fuel

  • uuuhhh how cool this will be cool if u pute ur face on the fire then will subscribe and rate

  • no the after is from fuel being injected into the exhaust section of the engine at least thats how real afterburner works

  • u should it used titanium

  • WOW... attach two of these babys on your bike and wow... you will be blowing. I mean emagine what would the cops say.

This is unit nine requesting support... we have a super fast bicycale on the lose hiting around 300km/h.

    YEAH! that would be cool.

  • its a super marshmallow toaster..!!

and when your not using it to toast marshmallows it spit roasts meat in seconds.

  • isn't it overheating when you see it glow like that?

  • *lick* O.O

  • so hot it was transparent

  • u have a high quality go kart and u just cant buy a high quality CAMARA!!!

  • i agree with wiley coyote part , and they need to fix there air to fuel ratios

  • now way in hell i would get in the go kart lol

  • Great, now put it on the track and shoot some footage of that :)

  • Touch it to see if it's hot...

  • don't touch the glowing red bits.

  • nice afterburner !

  • afterburner made by supplying additional fuel into exhaust cone...theres TONS of unburnt oxygen left in the exhaust to support combustion, now whether this guy used a secondary or even tierary ignition source, or whether he used the residual heat from the exhaust itself...was at his discretion....and yes...u can reignite afterburners without more ignition. theres hotspots on the metal that are red hot....fuel/air mixture contacts....bang

  • you are a expert

  • looks coughing

  • lol where do u get tht stuff from man!! im pretty sure i wont find tht in walmart! :P

  • tutch that sit...:P

  • hahaha

  • Marshmellow cooker ha ha ha

  • can i put a alcohol as a fuel

  • how?

  • for a jet turbine ? no

  • TOT's a little high there. :)

  • how do you get the afterburner part? Is that just a secondary spark plug after the exhaust comes out of the turbo?

  • you just dump fuel into the exhaust, it's hot enough to burn it without a spark.

  • I don't know about turbo chargers, but in turbojet engines the compressed exhaust air is hot enough to ignite additional fuel. simply add more fuel behind the exhaust stage and BAM! You got more thrust and an erection! To take advantage of this raised air pressure, you push it thru an afterburner cone, such as the one thats glowing in the vid. On an F-18 or similar jets, these cones (or turkey feathers) can open or contract for added efficiency.

  • mark ACME

  • Dude, that' sick

  • looks cold

  • XD ahahah

  • @DoubleOneZero1010 well spoted there. thats beucase the reaction is endothermic, so heat is absorbed in this reaction. so it would be cold to touch.

  • Is it just me, or did anyone else get a Wiley Coyote flashback and expect the trailer to suddenly shoot 90 degrees straight up into the sky?

    Meeep-meeep.

  • nice havent seen that show in yrs

  • show de bola !

  • i cant watch this video

    just moved new area R6

  • mmm....as a non-qualified engineer, I say: you might want to step away ol

  • Interesting. Im sure that its about 800-850ºC

  • great sound

  • why would that matter? if the metals dont mealt and loose shape, it doesnt matter if their glowing, as long as nobody falls on it

  • Yeah but apparently everyone's an expert here...

  • lol its gonna fuckin melt

  • whats the point of making it, if you cant drive it

  • oh shit its reeed

  • what metals are you using for the exhaust on that? Is it a nickle alloy? I would think that you would stay away from steels on that due to the high temperatures. I am a welding engineer and red steel as a structural compenent makes me cringe.

  • a dime alloy. twice as good.

  • an exhaust pipe isn't structural...

  • To uphold incase or reinforce a item ... a subway tunnel is structural is it not ? Without it the subway would cave in .without the metal muffler the gases would not be dampened and there would no out going pressure ,,the muffler is upholding pressure and incasing the inner workings ..why not mke one out of paper or wood that what earthmover is talking about

  • but in a turbine engine the exhaust nozzle plays a very important role. If a piece were to melt or fracture off just say..it wouldn't end very well. I imagine for someone who has gotten this far obviously knows a thing or two about the turbines to say the least.

  • dude it turned blue!!! thats hot!

  • white is the hottest

  • What you can't see is hottest. UV or X-rays should be hottest (Has to be pretty damn hot to do this). But then again I'm not exactly an electromagnetic radiation expert so I'm probably wrong... Only remember what high school taught me

  • what are you using as a fuel for the afterburner

  • It's a 40/60 mixture of petrol and diesel.

  • ooooo touch it touch IT plz!!

  • More impressive stuff, jesus, where do you get the time for this.

  • have you got any videos of you actually driving this thing? Thanks

  • would you drive that?

  • yez

  • Glowing red thrust nozzle is bad juju, means your EGT (exhaust gas temp) is WAY to high. That thing could tear itself apart.

  • @ fltnnt77

Sorry mate but you do not know what you are talking about. The heat that is causing the nozzle to glow on the "afterburner nozzle" (not the turbine nozzle!!!) is from the burning fuel in the afterburner and NOTHING to do with EGT's (T4) from the combuster/turbine output! The EGT on this engine at a combuster pressure of 30PSI is around 650.c

  • Really? I guess it's back to the books for me, gotta brush up on thrust engines. I deal primarily with gas turbines in helicopters, so I admit my knowledge of afterburners is essentially nil. I just get a little antsy when I see red glowies on GTEs; last time I saw one of those was right before a power shaft bearing let go and almost killed me. That nozzle contains no moving parts from what you say, so no worries, right?

  • you will never need a lighter or matches again

  • whay to much sownd

  • marshmellows anyone ?

  • xD good idea

  • WTF! Why buy a stove? when you got the Jet Engine Turbo Go Kart Nozzle! Its portable, stationary, and it'll get yah from a to b!

  • kiss the tip of that

  • uhhh, is it suppose to get glowing red hot like that? nice vid

  • how fast is that

  • next video u make some one touching the nozzel!

  • is it meant to get that hot? surely fighter jets have cooling systems that could be used here when stationary.

  • Will you sell that kart and what would you want for it?

  • Kart didnt even move.

  • your killing the engine!

    lol

  • TOUCH THE NOZZLE!!!

  • i wanna roast my hotdogs mmmmm lol

  • Coolness: 5*, Video Quality: 2* so overall rating 3*

  • Hmmm... either that thing is powered by angry munchkins or there's something wrong with the sound. :)

  • o_O whoa

  • dude, layer it with more metal plates so it can withstand such temps

  • i wonder if that motor is hot? haha that would kick a tard out of me a foot long.

  • that makes one hell of a blow torch

  • lol try tailgating that thing

  • how big is that afterburner fuel nozzle?

  • that things hella Hot! its glowing!!

  • BBQ..lol.//./././.,

  • whooooooooosh............BANG...........uuuuur bugger bugger bugger bugga

  • whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh..........................BANG...............uuuuuuuuur bugger

  • how fast does that thing over heat

  • that thing most over heat very quickly

  • why

  • Can i borrow this guys i have a race tomorrow?

  • holy fuck i want one of those

  • Wouldn't you need some kind of heat-shield on that? That's almost glowing white-hot!! Damn!

  • get a better camera please.

  • geez, man...is it for some special iron welding? :)

  • cool rocket, vid quality sucks though.

  • @615.. Not a rocket :o)

It was taken on a mates poxy cam phone :(

  • holy shit. at least you wont have a problem with someone ridin your ass.

  • howly shit no ,rofl but its to hot lol the metal is nearly melting :p

  • lol they'll be burnt to a crisp!

  • global warming here we come

  • yeah, its the go carts man, there the real cause of global warming! perhaps you should move to a internet free cave?, save the planet!@

  • what size turbo is that?

  • It's a Garret TV81

  • can anyone tell me what kind of process happens at the end when all the flames disappear:)?

  • @ MBR84 - Can you elaborate on your question?

  • When u get that blue flame(looks like an ideal flame, not quite sure though); how u get that in terms of fuel and oxygen injected into the chamber? Is that when u get a perfect ratio of the fuel burning with oxygen?

  • @ MBR84 - AFAIK a blue flame would be a good burn ratio. The vid shows a bad burn ratio but it was just for visual effect. Ideal circumstances would be very little flame exiting the jetpipe. Any flame exit is inefficiency and not required.

  • That thing is a fucking flamethrower.

I'd like to put that on a boat and see what happens.

  • Too bad the audio is distorted. I bet it sounds nice.

  • lol put some wings on that n itl fly =D

  • omfg i wont one for my car

  • O_O'

    did you make it?

how much money does it cost?

what is the braking system, you put a parachute on it like drag cars?

    what is the maximum speed?

  • Why dont you drive the pissing thing?

  • Thunder is just the noise, Lightning does the work!

In other words when are you going to drive it?

  • that wud be funny if it blew up

  • HOLY SH** that thing is WHITE HOT!

  • you mean orange, yellow or red hot, not white!

  • why....why...a jet powered go kart....WHYYYY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY!?!

  • mind if i put my neighboors cat in that thing

  • does it go fast?

  • what exactly the after burner does and how it works smogthemog?

  • Afterburner burns more fuel in exhaust air (which is still oxygen rich). The increased temperature raises the mach speed which allows faster flow of the choked exhaust gases. Faster flow equals greater impulse force.

  • can u fry an egg on that bu

  • thats what the barrell of a .50 caliber machine gun looks like after about 2 min of firing...almost translucent

  • I dont think they are supposed to get that hot??

  • What is not supposed to get that hot ????

If you are refering to the afterburner then yes you are probably correct as it was very over fueled, for effect, and does make the cone a bit red :)

It can be toned down and made to not spit fire at all and it still has about the same thrust. You gain no extra by having the flame out the back - only more heat and more flame - Oh, and possibly more noise :)))

  • what the f...!

  • Looks pretty insane! LOL. Great project!

  • expensive cigarette lighter.

  • You'd have to pay me a lot of money to sit in that thing.
