@dennisj86 Yahh.. I realized what I was asking like the second I pressed post. I was just excited to think that maybe she could've had babies and I was tired from being on the comp all day but yahh. I feel silly asking those questions now.
Ok. UMMMMM..... My beardie just layed eggs like 10 mins ago without sex? are they duds?? because I bought him/her when s/he was like 3 months old and s/he is now 2-3 yrs old and I still havent figured out if s/he is a s/he
It depends on incubation temperature. Mine hatch usually right around the 51 day mark give or take. I incubate at 83 degrees. The female is only gravid for three to four weeks before laying. They normally lay right around three clutches per season and will lay them every three to four weeks.
Well...you need a container with a lid, put small holes in the lid and around the sides near the top of the container. Fill the container with moistened virmiculite and place the eggs in there, spacing them apart just a bit to allow room for swelling. Place the lid on the container and incubate at 82 degrees. You will want to open the top of the container once a week to allow air in. They will hatch in about 49-55 days....Good luck!
@Unicornio991 no when she layed the eggs take her out of the terrarium ( wait till she buried them) en put her somewhere far away from her eggs ( then take them out en buried the hole (with no eggs) and so it looks like the eggs are still there. then put them in the incubator ( u have 24 hours to put them in the incubator)
yeah probibly, get a flashlight and cover the light end with tinfoil. poke a hole with a pin so a small beam of light comes through and CAREFULLY place the egg on it, making sure not to turn it(if the egg gets turned the embryo will die) look at the egg and if there is a ring of red there good and continue to incubate
I concur. What is it about reptiles that people think they are any different then us. Just about everything in life needs a mate to reproduce. Sure they can lay eggs without a male but they are most definitely infertile and will not hatch!
The waiting is the hardest part...you will be so excited the day you go peek into the incubator and see babies running around. A clutch that size will all hatch out in about 3 to 6 days. Good Luck!
the best age is 1.5 to 2 years of age but if they are put with a male too early it is possible for them to be gravid as early as 8-10 months but you also stunt the female's growth and take a risk of her becoming egg bound and dying. It is worth the wait so you have a healthy mom and healthy babies
please help me I have beautiful bearded dragon named roxy and she won't eat her vegis plaese tell me how to get her to eat them I want to breed her so I want her to be healthy so she has healthy babys so please help me and if I do breed her.ill let you name some of the babys
I am sorry if your comments are blocked, I thought that I had approved you as a poster on my channel. First off...breeding is a huge undertaking and is very expensive. You have to have an incubator, several setups and enough money to feed all the babies for a couple of months before they are ready for new homes. Please seriously consider all that goes along with it before you breed her. She will lay about 2-4 clutches on average and about 15-30 eggs per clutch. If it is done right, you have
to find homes for all of them as well. As far as her not wanting greens, I suggest just giving her greens and no bugs for a few days and always give her the greens before you give her bugs, that should cure the not wanting vegies situation.
what type of diet are your large females on? i have a 1 year old male who wont eat vegetables as often as he should and im plannng on him getting very large
LOL...it is just selective breeding and genetics. I have several large females. I purposely look for them because they are better breeders and lay eggs without complications. When purchasing my females I always ask about the parents and their sizes
I didn't make her lay them, she did that on her own. I use a large rubbermaid container filled half full of a mix of peat moss and sand dampened enough to form a ball in the hand. Once my females start digging in their cage I put them in to container so they can lay their eggs. It is a much more natural enviroment for them and reduces egg binding.

Stick Insects CAN Reproduce Without A Male, The Female Will Just Pretty Much Copy Her Own DNA And Produce Offspring. I Go To University Studying Animals So I Think I Know.

Did I say anything about insects, no I didn't and I don't care about insects. I have been breeding for many years so I know first hand. If you had a supposed infertile egg hatch then that female had to have been with a male at some point. Reptiles don't lay hatchable infertile eggs, it is impossible. Just because you go to college doesn't mean you have all the answers. I also went to college. Ask your biology professor or a DNA specilist.
I have done a little research and found there are a couple of reptiles that can lay fertile eggs without a male around but leopard geckos are not one of them. The only thing I can think of is that she was mated before you ever got her. Leos can hold sperm just like beardies. It only takes one mating to produce several clutches of eggs. University and college are the same thing here in the states.
done arguing....just research it. As far as it saying so in your leo book; 90% of all care books for reptiles on the market have incomplete and incorrect information. I have been a breeder for many years, I know my stuff! I am on the national breeders network, I work with iguanas as well and am a member of a rescue group for them. how mutch time should i let them burried on the earth before e put them in the incubator?
Can i remove them from the terrarium at any time after she finish burry them?

immediately.... the longer you wait, the better the chances of turning the eggs and killing the embryo or them drying out.
