80K is a lot more than you'd pay for this. The car itself was maybe $30K used TOPS and the 422 build up would maybe cost 7K or so. Add another 3K for slicks and the 135 shot and you're looking at 40K total. Then again it really depends on if he did any of the work himself or not...

The time/length between the cars is detrmined by both cars speed. A car going 100mph and the winning car going 120mph with 5 lengths would say have 1 second ahead. Now, Lets say the winning car was going 80mph and the losing car 60mph with a difference of again 5 lengths. In that race he would have say 1.5 seconds of difference because the losing car isn't going as fast so therefore it takes the losing car longer to cross the finish line even though he lost by the same car lengths.

The time/length between the cars is detrmined by both cars speed. A car going 100mph and the winning car going 120mph with 5 lengths would say have 1 second ahead. Now, Lets say the winning car was going 80mph and the losing car 60mph with a difference of again 5 lengths. In that race he would have say 1.5 seconds of difference because the losing car isn't going as fast so therefore it takes the losing car longer to cross the finish line even though he lost by the same car lengths.

I think people are talking about street legal cars and not a 7000hp top fuel dragster or a funny car. It's a pretty stupid arguement trying to compare them. I'm not choosing sides but 1.6 liter making 800 hp is much more impressive than a 8.0 liter viper making 2000 hp. Just compare the hp/liter and the bigger engine is just average.

Just a little heads up...that is a 2000 model Corvette FRC...not a ZO6. It has been parted out and sold awhile back. It was a wicked car for sure. Basically an MTI 422 iron block with 135 shot and a VERY good driver...who also owned the car.

And little FYI, it won the Viper/Vette/Supra shootout here in Houston. Ironically, the owner of this car also had a Supra in the shootout. Luckily he did not meet himself in the final....although he did meet another Supra and won. A Supra is not the greatest drag car.
