There is no need to spread your beliefs here. Christianity is the biggest religion in the world, let us watch at least one youtube video without you people trying to convert us.
Sách "Việt Nam: Suối Nguồn Văn Minh Phương Đông" là sách Chứng Minh rằng là Khổng Tử đã học từ người Việt để làm ra Đạo Khổng để dại cho người Hán!
"Vietnam: The Springhead of Eastern Cultural Civilization" is a book that proved Sage Kong learned from the Viet for his Confucianism that used to teach the Chinese Han!
Confucianism is similiar to facism. It is essentially Government propaganda for the last 2000 years to control people. It stress the relationship between The emperor and his subject. The emperor is some one who holds the power of life and death over his subject. This is value behind china's political institution to this very day.
@SNSDTVgeneration Yes, during the revolution, Mao and the red guards banned Confucianism. And yet it hasn't been brought back officially by the government. CCP is the only government or dynasty that hasnt officially recognize Confucianism in throughout Chinese history.
@LeviProductions1 Confucius didn't promote hierarchy; it was a given. His approach was to perfect what cannot be escaped. Make hierarchy work rather that vainly work to destroy it.
Because 儒敎(Confucianism) is the most piece of shit in the world.
I am Korean girl myself and because of that stupid fucking Confucianism, i don't know about rest Asian(japan or china or twian etc) Korea culture is really crazy and disgusting.
ugh.. you know what i mean, in this fucking country and living as "female humanbieng".
I fucking hate this Confucianism and my culture.
I am not saying I hate "south korea" itself. I'm sort of proud of what my country have become.
@qmamzmwm Thank you for being honest with us and yourself. Come to the States it really a nice place to live, we got a long way to go but there are some people here really trying to make it better!
@qmamzmwm - life is tough...every time people lead with ideas it will always backfire for some in society...it is the rule of life...i hope everything is prosperous for you and some of these ideas actually do some good around your reality... and not so much damage.
It has been a long time since someone used a physical metaphor for morality and belief. Too long have I enjoyed the open nature of Christianity, and no longer do I have the common sense understanding of Confucianism. But you have reignited my faith. Thank You.
One of the quotes from confuzi is 'we not even know the stuff in the living world, how could we know the stuff after death?; we not even know how to serve the living, why we bother ourselves to serve the ghost/God', also ' we respect the ghost/god but be stay away with them'. Confusium actually does neither support nor deny the existence of God/Ghost. It may be there or it may not. Who knows? But we should not just bother ourselves too much with that and should better focus on the real world.
@Verradonairun As far as I know, Confucian philosophy is just that, a philosophy. It does not have any deities or religious rituals. If there are rituals or deities, it would be more to do with Chinese culture than the inherent principles of Confucianism.
In fact, you can embrace Confucian philosophy and still pursue whatever religion you like. I know a lot of people who have been strongly influenced by Confucian principles, yet are Christian, Muslim, Catholic, etc.
Well...there is a lot more to it than just the principles. I'm a bit more radical than that, I don't believe that it is permissible to adapt the things you like from for instance Islam and still call yourself a Christian. You are either a believer or you're not. You can't choose the things you like and forget the things you don't like. This is why I don't have a religion...yet ;-)
@Verradonairun I agree with you. But trying to combine Islam and Christianity is different, as they are both religions and have different views on god, certain rituals, etc. Pure Confucianism, at least as far as I know, is a philosophy, not a religion and doesn't have a god.
For example, I have Christians friends who believe in their God, and follow Christian rituals and beliefs. But their behaviour, how they act, their approach to knowledge and education is strongly influenced by Confucianism.
@kll1161 I agree...I'm sure you can "blend" religions with philosophies successfully, but in that respect you can't claim (at least I don't think so) that you are entirely "that one religion/philosophy". ^_^ But a deity is something my reason won't let me believe in, so if confucianism doesn't have any "idols" or rituals (which I, no offense, find absurd) then I might just consider reading more about it. ;-) thanks for answering :D
Confucianism is, simply, 'a system of ethics designed to cultivate moral perfection.'
And as for "Lao Tzu", scholars unanimously agree that no such person existed. No body knows how he was connected to the text of the Daode jing (Tao Teh Ching).
This is the big problem with all of these things- Confucianism, Daoism, feng shui etc - everybodies heads are filled with misconceptions, "logic" and "reason", we need to open our minds and accept what is.
I was a bit confused when I first studied English. There seemed to be only one word for brother/sister - rarely explicitly indicating the order or age. Also the same for people of different generations like paternal and maternal grandparents - which seem to have no difference too.
He says that the relationship of friends is based on the older and the younger friend. I have always learned and thought that the relationship of friends doesn't 'care' about that, and that it's not based on age but on trust. Can anyone help me with that?
It's not about "respect" it's abotut "obey" and it's not a religion it's a political philosophy. One protects, the other obeys. Emperor/subjects, parents/children, elder/young, husband/wife, friend/friend. He grew up in a time where women had no rights and were considered lower than men so the husband/wife one still causes a lot of problems for women. And so does that elder/young relationship because that keeps change from happening.
Confucianism is not all about 'obedience'. Confucius asked his students to think independently and not to accept without question everything he said. Mencius, the St Paul of Confucianism, clearly stated that people have the right to give a tyrannical ruler the boot. I can show you which chapter from the Analects and the Mencius to read.
@S1587915G i have few ideas about but i did not know about what you talking that surprise me will you recommend to me a book to read about will be very appreciated thanks
Confucius was a contemporary of Lao Tsu. The two actually met. It is said that Confucius started trembling and perspiring, later referring to him as 'abyss' and 'the dragon'. What did Lao Tsu say to him? He said: Be natural, seek the authentic self, let innate love and compassion express itself, do not cultivate morality. Lao Tsu thought that cultivated virtues and morals are social constructs. Before Lao Tsu, Confucius felt his virtue and morality dissolving.
Cultures and countries strongly influenced by Confucianism include China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Vietnam, as well as various territories settled predominantly by Chinese people.
The basic teachings of Confucianism stress the importance of education for moral development of the individual so that the state can be governed by moral virtue rather than by the use of coercive laws.
Confucianism is a Chinese ethical and philosophical system developed from the teachings of the Chinese philosopher Confucius. It focuses on human morality and right action. Confucianism is a complex system of moral, social, political, philosophical, and quasi-religious thought that has had tremendous influence on the culture and history of East Asia. It might be considered a state religion of some East Asian countries, because of governmental promotion of Confucian values.
Very true, im glad that i am chinese and hold those values. I see many Americans don't even care about their parents when their old, MAKES me SICK. Their parents shouldnt even BROUGHT them to LIFE in the first place. Many americans care about themselves and not others, STINGY and greedy people.
Well, you are very young seems doing very good. People should love their parents, but now even in China lots of kids are very selfish, and only care themself, that makes me think maybe I should not have a kid in the future.LoL
Unfortunately, many east Asians are becoming negligent of their parents as well. Here in Singapore there are many cases of old people being left by their kids to languish in old folks' homes.
My fear is that east Asians themselves are leaving their Confucian legacy behind. I hope that's not so.
Sorry, but i am not offending anything...well, according to me there is anly one and only one kind of relationship possible...if a relationship at all. Otherwise, these 5 kinds of relationships are just names.....it is the 'NEED' which is the basis of all that. these 5 are the names to the need. Relationship is only possible if there is no need....umm does it make sense
It begs the question that why would we evolve to the point we are now that we have these needs? Reptiles do not have these needs and hence do not have relationships. They can eat each other without thinking. Humans are different.
some creatures through their evolutionary path achieved easier and more successful lives by living together and working together, also even independent predators tend to eat only their normal prey which rarely means each other
In all these relationships the person mentioned first is supposed to be respected and deferred to while the second person is the subordinate in the relationship. Thus I feel the description of this relationship as "spouse and spouse" is inaccurate and gives the unrealistic impression of power equality within the relationship.
But please, don't talk my word for it, go out and read the Confucian classics -- they're fascinating!
In an ideal Confucian society, the wife shows respect and loyalty to her husband, while the husband must show benevolence to his wife and children. This is the same as with the ruler and the subject.

CONFUCIUS is a Korean!!
Confucius was born in 551 BC, in Korean state of Nam-DO.
Because he was born in poverty, he moved to Chinese State of Lu, the Main-land Chink.
Korea already found ancient bloodline history book of Confucius.
Because of history forgery Chinks, people thought confucius is a Chinese.
China is trying to steal everything.
Tibet, Taiwan, etc...
No one will believe China.
Soon, all history books will write Confucius is a Korean.
