Matt, I am really impressed with your vids and I look forward to more in the future. I really like the way you train. I am curious about your diet as well. I do my best to eat as healthy as possible, but I am not 100% like many people. Just wanted to know what your thoughts are regarding nutrition. Thanks, Dan.
@Swagz1981 I do not adhere to a paleo 100%, but i do try to avoid foods that make me feel like crap (sugar, even though I love snacks)
Eat quality meats with lots of vegetables and fruits with the occasional tubers and plenty of quality fats like coconut, olives, avocado, nuts and seeds and you will always feel well. Stick to that most of the time and you will be good, once or twice a week indulge in your favorite treats and enjoy a fabulous life
@Swagz1981 while I do recommend eating as naturally as possible (foods with one ingredient), I realize this is not for everyone. You must pay close attention to the way you feel when you eat. Try eating one thing at a time for a while. See if things give you gas, cause you to feel sluggish or give you crazy energy. Of course you must pay attention to everything else as well, regarding training, recovery, etc...
WOW, great video! The chain thing was crazy. It would probably be easier to wear a weight vest or put the chains around you Rambo style and use a carabiner to attach then to your belt loops on your pants, but you are not looking for easier are you lol. The roll out was really a helpful hint.
The chains; are they like HomeDepot or Elitefts type chains? The problem I always run into is HomeDepot chains are to lite and Elitefts are to expensive, especially after s/h. Any suggestions?
@yyportne exactly, these are home depot and i cut into 6 foot lengths, I usually use 6-8 chains per side when I squat/pull/bench. I had a Home Depot gift card and bought a full bucket of chain and cut it up myself. It gives me about 50 lbs per each side on the bar. Very good for me is using 405 for squat + 100 lbs chain, that gives me about 500 at the top and 400 at the bottom, feels great for me
