This important statement about a critical issue has been viewed by only 963 folks as of today. Send it to friends and family. 2007 was the bloodiest year yet for American troops in Iraq. We need to bring our troops home and return Iraq to Iraqis.
I wonder if Edwards is now going to come back & correct his own statement? The surge is working.....the liberal media is even reporting this. Wrong again Edwards...
Edwards does not support amnesty. He is going to get rid of amnesty. He is a dem not a republican. Illegals make your party more and more money. well come 2008 we are going to get rid of your unneeded tax cuts. And end this pointless war.
And sadly while we are off in la la land, our country is becomming a 3rd world country with the immigration problem in this country. And that is just one of the MANY problems.
The plain old truth is, is that this country since Vietnam hasn't learned there lesson. We still try to run other countries and pass the buck on our own people that are in poverty. This country is still very much so OIL HUNGRY just like the Vietnam days. The USA can NO LONGER be the savior of the world. its time to bring our men and women home.
We have been over there trying to help the 2 parties get along and to make peace without success. If we leave and they start to kill each other like savage beast' then that is there own damb fault. I dont see how it is our problem, if they havea civil war and they start to kill one another. I say OH FUCKING WELL. I dont want our country to be like that.
If people are going to come over here and attack us then so be it. Can we take percautions aginst attacks YES, can we stop evil all together (the war on terror) NO! We need to train our society on how to be ready if in case there was a terrorist attack. But we cannot be playing the worlds pilgrim any longer. its crazy!
If there is a civil war when we leave against that country then so be it. We cannot afford to stay there any longer than we already have been. We need to come back and start taking care of our own damb country. you don't see one of our Alli countries over here trying to show us how to govern. Hell, maybe they should, maybe then we just might start to g et an idea on things.I hate how we try to run other countries yet, we can't even run our own.
FDR led us into WW2 & Germany never attacked us...Japan did. Truman started war in Korea, N Korea never attacked us. JFK started Vietnam which never attacked us.
Clinton - war with Bosnia w/out UN or French consent.
In the years since terrorists attacked us,Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya,Iran, and N Korea w/out firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who
John Edwards is a good and decent man - and realizes the DC corporatists and elites want Congress to keep doing business as usual - accepting donations from DC lobbyists who influence legi$lation for corporations - courtesy of U.S. taxpayers.
if the Iraqies where united in fighting US troops then there is a glimer of hope that a withdrawal of troops would lead to peace but the very fact that they hate each other more than they hate US troops can only mean that a withdrawal of troops will escalate the civil war. I can't undersatand why John Edwards thinks this way.
There is either a negotiated solution, or there is a civil war fought through to a winner.
The longer we stay, the weaker the prospect for a negotiated solution. Staying is escalating the Civil War that will follow when we finally do leave.
The best real hope is to start pulling out and then convene a negotiation once the Iraqi government knows that they cannot sit on their butts anymore.
The US military was able to decisively defeat a tinpot dictator with pretensions to grandeur, quickly and decisively.
And then we blundered and bungled and blew any opportunity to turn the occupation into a success.
Funny how the surge has been an abject failure in paving the way for political reconciliation ... its objective, after all ... and this sparks nostalgia for an invasion to protect America from WMD that were not there.
What you and most of American politicians fail to understand is that the so called tinpot dictator was the one securing Iraq internal and racial differences. In the same way Tito secured Yugoslavia (when he died you know what happened in Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo), Hussein secured Iraq. USA removed the cork and the bottle exploded. There was no chance for success, there is no way the factions in Iraq will reconciliate, at least soon.
John Edwards for President. He's the only one of the candidates that is telling the truth. He's willing to admit his mistakes, and that takes a big man to do that. He's also willing to get the lobbyists out of Washington. Go John!
fuck you dick. he was willing to sell out the country for the white house.

It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. 51-day operation.
We looked for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.
It took less time to take Iraq than it took
to count the votes in Florida !!!
Bush is doing a GREAT JOB !
The Military morale is high!

The only possible path for peace is to decentralize power ... and no, not into three ethnic mini-states, but down to the provincial level.
As long as it is designed as a winner take all system, then the bloody fight to be the final winner will continue.

no chance for success?? iraq is a great success. there are only two democracies in the middle east. iraq and israel. USA.

No, you have to completely leave Iraq the way you left Vietnam.
The Iraqi are 'brain' enough to care for themselves.
