@ibmoosed Thanks man :o) It's just a 1/4" Plastic cutting board about 9"x5" Two holes drilled for the rope and one hole drilled for the trekking pole :o)
Hey Rich! Your pretty fortunate it's so cold out, during the warmer weather all the good tables are taken!! : o)
Love love love the set-up my friend! The table is brilliant and so practical. It amazes me that the alcohol stoves actually burn in that type of weather. It really says a lot about their value as a stove option. Thanks a bunch for the great demo and cool ; ) to see you out enjoying some bush time.. : )
@saradreaming Hahaha! You're rite about that Sara :o) There's people everywhere in summer. Locals and tourists alike! Some people are surprised by the fact that alcy stoves can work in much colder temps. Depending on the stove :o) Thank you as always for your great comments my friend :o)
in scuba diving we use surgical tubing for all types of mods requiring tensioning ,etc.....im thinking your right about the paracord.......but i have a slight design change...i dont always use treking poles...so ..ill try may be thursday....thanx for the ideas...stay warm ..
@Ggreenvideos lol....yeah i dont like anything leaning, lol.good point with the stick.....sux when they are all under 9 feet of snow,lmao.....its a good option....i think i can work out something else...just gotta keep my eye on the weight.....im talking to adam about getting a hammock gear version of the high sierra sniveler....he may not have time for designing til march....i may sttle on a moded burrow.gn bro gotta crash soon.....gotta be up at 4 tomorrow.
nice little system Rich...I gotta drink me some more lemonade,lol...and get me one of those containers....now you and robbie got me thinking i need to make one of those tree tables....you each got your version..i like em both....i got a couple of ideas in mind.....so you like the paracord better than bungee or surgical?...hmmmm...alright i have a new project,lol....like i have spare time ,lo....not...alright bro ,keep them comin....love that snow ...my turn next week...fresh snow in NH.Peace
@sousaville Thankya kindly Ed :o) You might find this container with Tang in it. woodenarrows (Jim) gave me the tip on it. He found it with Tang. Mine just happened to be Country Time :o) Go figure eh! You'd think things would be the same across North America eh? Your country's weird...haha! Just buggin' bro :o) Robbies metal one is 100 grams he tells me. Mine is 194 grams...I lose...haha!
@Ggreenvideos ..no losers here bro...we are all winners...we all benefit from the knowledge,lol....helps us in the wild....im gonna try and do a version...i got a few ideas im tossing around...thanx for the idea and your mod.....ill keep an eye out for the the container...i like the setup...sweet.
@Ggreenvideos i think i have come up with a tree table idea,lol..and its alittle bigger and light...and cheap..lol...not sure it will work great but i believe it will...duel purpose..9in by 13in..90g with cord.
@Ggreenvideos gonna crash bro...let me know what you think when the vid pops up...you can make a million mods with it...might work for you..i tried it twice and in windy conditions..not bad.
@sousaville Bungee cord probably wouldn't work. It's heavier for one, and probably wouldn't get it tight enough. Prove me wrong buddy :o) Paracord is very lite...and strong :o) Surgical?
@MBlackford100 Not a problem in sub zero...hehe! It would depend on the stove I'm sure. Something that gets real hot on the bottom such as my BB 2.0 might melt a little in to it, in summer. Could work around that by putting some carbon felt under the stove body :o) Anything else would be much heavier. We need someone like Smokeeater to make some Titanium tables :o)
@smokeeater908 Oh brother...100 oz.? or 10 oz.? Titanium sheet would be nice eh ;o) What's the dimensions of your small table? Oh btw...those little 330ml. heine cans have disappeared off the shelves too :o( Maybe they figured they were too expensive to make.
That is real telephaty my friend. I`ve been on a canoetrip this weekend ( we have still no ice on the water !!!!) and talked about light camping gear with a couple of other guys. I couldn`t demonstrate the BB 2.0 because i left `em in the RV, but i gave them the advice to check out your YT-Channel ... it`s probably the best to learn from the best, ey ? ;o) Keep your stick on the ice , brother - i`ll watching ya ! HE HE
@moorcamper It's the master of compliments :o) We have waters not frozen yet..hehe! Of course the Yukon River never totally freezes by town. It's weird. I thank you for recommending my channel to your buddies buddy :o) You keep your stick on the ice as well :o)
Your stuff always looks so good in the cold (really cold)! I like how you have the table resting on your trekking pole basket - makes it very stable, good idea! I think you're going to like the thinner tubing that will come with your Mini Heat, may not be as stiff in your cold weather. Stay warm buddy - always great seeing you out!
@wawhiker Thanks good buddy :o)Always appreciate you awesome comments! They're top shelf :o) I think you're rite about the micro line. Is that what it's called? or is that just a cult thing?...haha I swear I'm gonna' kill those dogs if they don't bring my kit soon...hehe!
Yahoo! A new stove is always lots of fun to play with. What is the size of the diameter? My guess is the burn time was in the uppers of 10 minutes for 2 cups? =p PS I really do not like this new YouTube layout.
@phr1sk37 Yahoo...hehe ;o) The pot is tapered being wider at the top. It's the same size as the opening of a Foster or Heine pot :o) Burn time is howhever much fuel is in your bottle :o) Boil time I showed at the end...hehe! It was 12:30 there abouts :o) Not bad in that cold. I could still see the air current pushing the flame around some times too. I hat the new layout as well. I'm gonna' freak if we are forced to that new channel design. It bites big time...haha!
What's up, can't wait for the dog sled :-)), had to make you own huhh. Looks good. Is the stove one of your old remote feed stoves or did you make a new one? Using a cutting board for the table was a slick idea.
@Woodenarrows Haha! You got me my friend :o) I'm gonna' kill those damn dogs when they get here...haha! It's a stove I made last winter when Bill sent me those Dubro fuel fittings and silicone line :o) I wanted to use my thin backpacking board but it bends too easy. This is smaller than some may like but the bigger the heavier rite :o) Titanium sheet would be the perfect solution :o) Thanks a bunch for the tip on that container as well Jim :o)
Ladies and gentlemen....the real deal, The Bushman of The Yukon!!! I gotta admit, I did an arm pump when i saw a video had been uploaded from ya! :) Brilliant idea using the cutting board as the table top buddy!!! Great soundtrack too! :)
@CampfireTalk By the way I just got back from 2 days/nights out in the woods. It was cold for this part of the world, but not as cold as it gets up there. There were 8 of us on this trip & hopefully I'll be able to piece some video together. Take care
