I actually found this game though a fan made game called OpenSonic.

you can get it from OptimizeXP, and it uses the same level design and slightly remixed music for the stage "Exotic Hell" (Which is the best description for the original level)

I love it how Mighty is just a Sonic re-color, and he has a shell instead of spikes xD

@Renzythegreat91 According to Sonic-Cult, it requires some basic BIOS decoding and some changes to make Mighty be Sonic. It was THAT recoloured.

Mighty the Armadillo, first appearing in the arcade game "SegaSonic the Hedgehog" (I'm dead serious).

@zerosvc2 Yep, but his concept goes back to before Sonic 1 was even created. Sega was deciding between either a hedgehog or an armadillo for their mascot (since both roll up into a ball). They eventually went with a hedgehog for Sonic, but they later developed the armadillo concept into Mighty. Incidentally, Mighty is my fav side character, I'd love to see him in future 2D Sonic game (not 3D, 3D should only be Sonic).
