Renebassfreak1968 your feel is second to none......impossible to play more fluidly than that - Equal to the King and no mistake! Thumb this one up everyone that agrees!
Excellent! You seem to have played a bass guitar (a couple of times) before ;) Could you make similar video of Nik's Shame on You? I guess you'll like it too?
they are not even close in sound, the gibson gives you a fat trebley humbucking tone and the epiphone has a Precision and Jazz pickups in it so it sounds like a p bass. The gibson is a neck through body and the epiphone is a bolt on neck, which will have a major tonal difference.
Mmm, I had a feeling that it would be way off. Though I didn't know the Epi version was bolt-on
I have the Gibson, and though I do so love, and find it to be my favorite of my basses, it won't be working forever, but thanks for the description (might look to get one anyway, rather than as a replacement), but where did you find one?
You are a credit to your species! (Expletive deleted) awesome!!
VERY nice playing, with a tangible respect for the artistry that is Mark King. I would love to hear you play live. As for Nik Kershaw? Indeed, he is a legend.
mate, great playing and loads of respect to you.... im mark king's biggest fan. He wrote and played this bassline at nik kershaws request!!... can you imagine how you would feel having written this bass part for sum1 else.. he is god !!! your pretty shit hot too by the way ....Nik Kershaw ...Legend !!!
You play this very well!! very impressive stuff. Exceptionally fluid style and yet still accurate. Not easy to pull off. would like to see you play live. (hard! I live in NZ)Incredible tone on the Gibson as well (phew)
Heavens! I have loved this album since it helped saved my life in 1984 when I was 16 years old - it was only 2 years later I discovered the brilliance of Mark and Level 42 - why has it taken until now for me to realise the connection? Such a recognisable style! ... oh dear. Thankyou for pointing out the obvious...
Also, cool to see younger generation getting into this music - it truly allowed me to function in an unforgiving world and I value i most highly to this day. Enjoy, Ms or Mr 13!
Hey Kershwin. This one's from "The Riddle"... whitch is my favoutite Nik-album. And er.. for "basspfosten": you're a careful observer..I've come to like this bass very much 'cause of it's big body, sustain and it's metal top nut. Perfect slap-bass for yor money !
heyyyy....i love ur playing....so similar to mine. Probably we listen to the same kind of music.... i love mark king and i adore this song. I am new here and i'd like to sand to u a video of me and my bass guitar, but i don't know how to do... i tried with my cam and my mic to capture something accettable, but both video and audio were terrible (expeccially audio...really low!) Can u help me? U r great!!!!!
Oh yeah you're right. I was paying more attention to the model than to the manufacturer. Arthur Barrow (Zappa's bass player in the late seventies) had a bass like that, with PJ-pickups.
Easy has one of the most phenomenal bass parts ever recorded. It's sounds like it's been played by a machine, it's that tight. I'm pretty sure Kershaw arranged that bass line, as he was a great bass player himself. Mark King just added the depth, groove and tightness to it. That bass sound on the recording is just sheer perfection.
Fantastic job!
