This technique is nice but the person at the receiving end could easily come close while bending his knees at the same time, then lift up the opponent from the waist and drop with little or no help from his knee against the opponents thigh on the outside.
He could also go for a double/single leg take down.
So if the guy is a thai fighter or wrestler it wouldn't work that easily, but it's always nice to have an extra technique in your arsenal, as it could work against some people.
@Curatalo506 Different instructors have different ways of gripping their hands. This is largely due to their background. For instance, in a Muay Thai bout you wear 12-14 oz gloves, therefore making it almost impossible to go hand in hand. That being said- when you cross your wrists you'll have much better connection with those gloves. In MMA you are wearing much smaller gloves, allowing you to have a different grip.
@Curatalo506 Really depends on who I'm fighting. If he's slightly taller I prefer a hand in hand grip so that I can use my forearm bones to steer him. If he's posturing up then I like to cup the crown of his head to pull his head down...
All depends on what he's doing...
Thanks for your feedback and participation! Exactly why I do these videos!
I would assume that depends on the shin bone of the individual. That being said, the bone is thicker below the knee, so I think that's the answer you're looking for.
The shin bone is thickest close to the knee and thinnest at the middle (it gets thicker again close to the ankle). But you shouldn't really worry about breaking your shin, that's not a normal injury.
@rhythmythyc only way you can break your shin is if your a mma fighter who never trained muay thai or kickboxing and you try shin kicking someone and they check you
if you have muay thai or kickboxing experience your shins are gunna get micro fractured so much you can kick trees and not feel pain exept the skin being cut, so im agreeing with you with some more info invovled :D
every vid is very helpful and informative thanks for them and keep it up please even when i know a technique you always throw in one more inkling of knowledge and makes it even more effective so ya thanks again
your youtube channel is so badass! thank you guys, from germany.

What would also be cool is if you can time your kicks perfectly to sweep the guy to the ground and follow up with ground n pound.
