Such an old show and people are still addicted to it. It's stupid how everything went flawless the first two seasons but all of a sudden the direction of this show took a wrong turn and screwed up big time. That is why they had to kill Marissa off.

Nonetheless, this show was a fabulous show and a show that people will remember forever!

I agree that Marissa was very fickle and foolish in season three, but the thing with Oliver is understandable. Ryan did make himself look very guilty trying to prove Oliver was psycho. As for DJ, Marissa never thought she'd see Ryan again, and he was there. She also did care for Alex, she just couldn't handle a lesbian relationship. If anything dating Alex was a way of being rebellious and defying her mother, and she soon realized that, but she loved Alex if not as a lover, as a friend.
