  • @pawnsacrifice1 they must say the same thing every day ,,chas and dave would be embarrassed with this ,,mick talbot must have shit when weller gave him the nod

  • @kirkbyla it is chas and dave-esque...bloody awful.

  • The Steve Gibbons band lifted the main riffs.

  • @seasidemike What!?....this 12 bar boogie woogie ,was there already in the 1930's.

Thisis just another Jam wannabee anyway. These dudes should get some wheels and drive by.

  • First 45 single I bought!!!

  • Available for weddings and barmitzvahs. They even bring their own equipment!

  • Are they in the Merton celebrity hall of fame?

  • Freddie & The Dreamers to The Jam's Beatles. Sounds even lamer now than it did in 1979 & the only good thing about modern shite music is that it usually makes records I hated in my youth sound great when I hear them now.

  • I love manny

  • I last saw "Merton Mick" backing Lulu on the lottery programme in about 1997. Glad to see he found his level!

  • sounds like chas n dave.

  • @gug1970 they must have been in on the writing ,,mick talbot must cringe at this

  • @gug1970 It does doesn't it! Rabbit rabbit rabbit jabber jabber rabbit rabbit JABBER!

  • @flomusiclub

They used to play at The Two Brewers in Clapham

  • tks a lot;

I was 22 y old and working in london. A very nice period for me.

I was leaving, bedfort road clapham, and every friday listening to them. What a great band_!!

  • @macjnr99 i used to see `em and at the fountain in new malden ( thats near merton park !)

  • @unclemort1960

Indeed they did play The Fountain.

The Nashville in Kensington was another place they played a number of times.

  • @macjnr99 also the wellington near waterloo station

  • @unclemort1960

Yes, I have a tape somewhere of them playing live at The Waterloo.

Although You Need Wheels wasnt great they certainly knocked out some good tunes but sadly this song is what most people remember..

The Waterloo was a Venue where a load of the revival bands played.

It was still there the last time I went past a few months back.

  • @macjnr99

I managed to dig out the tape, not played it for a long long time.

Great to hear it again. I meant to say of course with my other post the venue was The Wellington which is close to Waterloo station.

  • lol - I remember this being a lot better than it actually is.. they were crap .. lol

  • they was not that bad

  • Wow. They really suck.

  • Chas and Dave, that you?? ;)

  • The Herman's Hermits of the mod revival...

  • Yea, have to agree with the chaz n dave thing... These were the worst mod band Ever!!! Infact one of the worst bands ever...0 out of 10.

  • Fuckin chaz and dave in parkas

  • Mick Talbot on keyboards... Before joining The Style Council !!!!!!!

  • classic from this band top mod !!

  • the mods are back man, lets go get some rockers if we can find one somewhere

  • Where's Victor Meldrew!!?? .....ok ok, they did do much better stuff. nice to see all the same.

  • The Merton Parkas did release some decent tracks (although this wasnt one of them). Flat 19 stands out.

    Neil Hurrell RIP

  • Flat 19 wonderful track Put me in the picture was pretty good as well !

  • Agreed, "Flat 19" had some really tasty Hammond which I wish they'd used on the other stuff.

  • Rockin' stuff. Mick went on to be a big slice of the Best Pop band in history. The Style Council.

  • my dad did the bass guitar

  • That's Mick Talbot on keyboards and vocals. He went on to team up with Paul Weller in The Style Council (who were much better than these guys, it has to be said)

  • Awful.
