  • Perfect Sound!!!

  • Three verses in and I got goosebumps.

  • Music like todays, justin beiber, doesnt compare to this at all. i want them to have a sing off and chris cornell really show the world wat music really is

  • The passion of this song is unbelievable, the words are unmatched by any other song ever.

  • so, the only song Vedder sang for this album was only hunger strike??

  • Such a wonderful song, gives me goosebumps. <3

  • If it weren't for people referencing the late Andrew Woods, I would've kept on imagining a bird from his prime to his death every time I hear this song. Too bad he died the year I came into this world (1990).

  • This is one of those songs you can't turn up loud enough.

  • I think Chris Cornell is like the male version of Janis Joplin. I mean, he fuckin' WAILS. O_O

  • Who would dislike this song?

  • @Danny123456789009876 Some fucking Kanye West fan would be my best guess

  • cornell has a voice of a god!

  • This song is ranked #3 in the Top 100 greatest vocal performances of all time. Right under 'Child in Time' by Deep Purple (#2) and 'Love Reign O'er Me' by the Who's Roger Daltrey.

  • @2momGaming You gotta Throw LAyne Staley on the top of that list as well

  • @Toke420is He's one of my favorite singers as well but he can't touch vocal performances like this one. Great, powerful, haunting voice but not range as wide as Chris's. I don't think he could have sung any Temple of the dog songs, but I think Chris could have sung almost any Alice in Chains song.

  • @Audioslave3 They were completely different singers, he could've technically sang Alice in Chains' songs but they wouldn't sounded half as good because Layne is what made them so unique, not to mention his harmonies with Jerry.

  • It rocks....

  • Simply put........a masterpiece. I don't care from what sub genre of rock you like, this one is for the ages.

  • What a voice!!!! This is an awesome song and nobody could do it any better than Chris Cornell.....Absolutely Beautiful

  • it would be great if someone could get the vocal track of this song...has anyone heard anything that compares with the epicness of this vocal performance? please say..

  • This song makes me miss Andy so much. Wasted Talent, the cruelest of tricks.

  • Say hello to my ear's B0NER! GOD THIS IS VIAGRA FOR THE SOUL!

  • amazingly powerful tune

  • If this song don't hit you, then you be dead already.

  • @klondike316 U betcha......

  • say hello to hell

  • i hope God is cool enough to let this song play for me as i take my first steps into the everlasting kingdom......stand around and soak it up.......eternal life.

  • @oneman1970 I hope Dimbag, Hendrix, Morrison, Bonham, Lennon, Cobain, Layne Staley, and johnny cash are in heaven! I want to jam with them!

  • @oneman1970 i know he's the coolest of the cool.

  • I completely love eddie and chris, but I think that show me how to live and this song really porve that chris is the better singer talent-wise

  • even as an athiest i can enjoy this song

  • God bless seattle..

  • i had this tape

  • love this chune all 2 the marrow

  • @sanviduca haha so Armenian

  • in an old interview shortly after soundgarden broke up Chris Cornell said he was glad soundgarden ended and he probably woudln't want it to start up again because he said it would probably just be for money and he didnt want that as an inspiration. so since he said that i am not quite sure i am glad that soundgarden is back together. they ended well. and Chris Cornell thought so too.

  • @whogivesaflyinfock he said he didn't want to start Soundgarden again in what, 1998-99? He's 47 now, he has matured A LOT, he said numerous times that Soundgarden should have NEVER broken up, but instead taken a few years off. Seeing these two statements back to back, I think that now he sees his mistakes (and, mind you, during the time SG broke up, Cornell was a raging drunk)

  • @Lawldudz the drinking issue stands strong but even still he said flat out that if they were to get back together it would probably be just for the money and he claimed he woudl have hated that to be the inspiration. whos to say which statement is clear. the new stuff doesnt seem to have the passion that the 90s music did. the latter statement may have just been him justifying himself for getting the band back together. not saying thats true but we dont know.

  • @whogivesaflyinfock well, certainly, Chris might be in it just for the money, but I strongly doubt that because their summer tour was very well recieved, a lot of people noted that they were genuinely happy about being Soundgarden again, etc. Also, only Black Rain so far was released and it was a Badmotorfinger cut with some re-recording, so you can't really judge them by that. I guess only time and their new album will tell...

  • Someone very close to me died today and i want to dedicarte this song to him!

  • @pearljamer81 Godspeed to your friend. . . may he forever rock on!

  • nvm i spoke too soon...

  • thx for posting these songs, but i have one thing i gotta bitch about. you give too much credit to chris cornell, when the band is basically pearl jam with chris cornell singing. also, i havent seen ONE pic of Andrew Wood; who this whole album is dedicated to. now that i got that out of my system, thanks man :]

  • My dad died when i was 3 (im 13 now) and loved this song for years. I will actually be singing it for the talent show and dedicate it to him. It is a weird coincedence, for my dad was born in puerto rico (an island) and died in his car, when a man shot him (on the street). weird huh? love3 this song, and hope to see chris in LA soon! love you <3

  • @alexanesthesiax3 godbless

  • todays rock music had this kind of music to work off of, and look what happened, what a shame............

  • Just ordered this CD from Amazon...I don't know what took me so long...

  • @mulehead126 That's great man. I bet you love it.

  • @mulehead126 That's great man. I bet you love it.

  • @Lekter

    You got that right!

  • What a fucking voice. This is what I call a singer.

  • hey after the solo it sounds like "tuesdays gone" for a couple seconds.... still an excellent song!

  • It doesnt get any better than some 90's grunge

  • To he who is deceased, rest in peace. I'll be seeing you all too soon my friend.

  • YEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHH...

  • @kreion YEAHEHEHEHEHEEEH!!

  • "He came from an island and he died from a street" do anyone know about who is he singing? Freddy?

  • @Kapiszczur he's singing about the singer of mother love bone, andrew wood, who died of an overdose, he dedicated this song and "reach down" to wood

  • @gracemaster65 Thank you very, very much. Never too much information...

  • where did the good times go.....

  • "This one has ended abrupt oooooooooh" goosebumps every time dude.

  • Where the fuck have this song been all my life, underrated as fuck

  • That voice rules all in the rock world ..could go to any rock and dominate...

    1 voice fits all.

  • This should get as many views as Stairway to Heaven but sadly it doesnt.

  • I loved this whole tape....I was like 15 or 16 when it came out and my friends and i wore it out!!! Still love it!!!

  • This is one of the greatest albums that noone knows about..

  • Chris Cornell is truly somethin amazing. Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, Audioslave...he just keeps showin why he's the shit. Glad to hear Soundgarden is back together!! Rock on!!

  • @BAdams614 can't forget his solo shit.

  • @BAdams614 there back together????! You sir, made my week

  • Temple of the dog is the shit. All their songs are underrated cuz people are quick to flip to Soundgarden and forget this was mainly a tribute band to Andrew Woods. RIP all you great rockers!

  • I have this picture in my head when I hear this song of the firefighters and civilians coming out of the smokey rubble of the buildings, with sad faces. Like they lost something, but relieved they came out alive. People helping one another. Weird...

  • AMAZING song!

  • This song I personally dedicate to Everyone In The 9/11 Attacks! Parts of this song give me Chills, and Cornell has The Voice of an Angel !!!

  • First, I must thank Lekter. Props, dude. Well, as to grea vocls; I think I've heard the best of 'em. and as to Seattle's best, I concede that Cornell's vocal acrobatics ARE amazing; more than amazing. Better than anyone's (with all due respect to Geof. Tate). But, for my money, Layne Staley IS THE SHIT! I worship Jimi. Adore Ann Wilson, Cobaine and Eddie Vedder. I like and respect Judy Collins, D. Shurr, Mildred Bailey, Ernestine A. and Ms. Bea Smith and so many others. But Layne,..

  • AND -from 5:32 to 5:53 he casually strolls up impossible octaves and his explosive vocal range is so fucking IMPOSSIBLE to duplicate or impersonate. Good luck, Karaoke fiends!!!

  • Anyone who EVER questions who, exactly, is the premiere male vocalist of this century need only hear this brilliantly performed, soulfully emoted, and incredibly heartbreaking song. Chris Cornell is beyond amazing, and there hasn't been anyone like him come passing through this way. probably won't ever be...

  • man its like 2 people are singin this song, chris has the voice!

  • I love temple of the dog, mother love one and pearl jam. I have been rockin with these bansd for 20 years, I lived in seattle for several years. It was a great time with excellent herb. I would love to find an old rocker living in Colorado springs. Herb friendly only.

  • I love temple of the dog, mother love one and pearl jam. I have been rockin with this bans for 20 years, I lived in seattle for several years. It was a great time with excellent herb.

  • The reason Chris singing about heaven is so great, is because when his hair is long he looks just like Jesus.

  • Statistics show if you like Temple and Pearl Jam, then you like Metallica, Megadeth, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Poison, Van Halen, and Motley Crue. Or a mix of these.

  • the song really feels like youre coming to the end of a road

  • when i die i want this 2 be played at my funeral,i want to be burried with an american flag,a rifle and something from my child hood

  • Whoever put this together...Well done. Great job son. [btw] I can never understand why people have to make comments that have nothing to do with the videos. Wrong forum.

  • Hahahahahaha......You guys couldnt spot a troll if it was 2 feet in front of you face fucking your mothers. I love both Temple of the Dog and Chris Cornell.

  • hell yah chriscornell is a genius

  • MAN I'M TRIED OF SEEING HATES ON GOOD MUSIC YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HATERS GO SUCK A DICK AND DIE!!! THIS IS REAL MUSIC NOT THAT POPCORN SHIT YOU LISTEN TOO. R E A L M U S I C ! ! !

  • Has given me chills for 20 years. Moving.

  • Godlike.

  • my soul is forever filled with grunge and 1992. xoxo

  • @kalifornia5 Dude 1992 was the perfect year and grunge was pure soul. Those were good times. Now the music sucks. Peace

  • @cmtmj2006 I argue that 1991 was better, but 1992 was right behind it.

  • Heaven is my little friend..

  • @PessimisticMonday hey shut the fuck up and go watch bieber

  • @PessimisticMonday and you can go fuck off :)

  • @PessimisticMonday Go fuck yourself and listen to the meaningful music only Britney and Justin Bieber can offer. Fag.

  • @PessimisticMonday why you bothering listening to them if you hate them you dumbtard?

  • @17NJDevilsfan Go back one page in the comments and get back to me. ;)

  • Chris Cornell's voice was at its purest in Temple of the Dog. Temple of the Dog, then Badmotorfinger, Louder Than Love... etc. But damn. Gonna listen to Call Me a Dog after this.

  • this song played on XM's Lithium while I was driving home from a funeral service today...love this song!

  • 36 people must die

  • Chirs Cornell !!

  • Whos a better singer, Chris Cornell or James LaBrie?

  • @redeyewriter Cornell

  • 36 people have no soul.

  • 662,956? Why are only my views showing?

  • This is one the most amazing vocal performance I've ever heard. It rightfully stands next to Jeff Buckley's 'Grace' and pretty much every song of Led Zeppelin, The Who and Deep Purple.

  • @MaxPayne92 Chris Cornell is definetly one of the best vocalists of all time

  • @jevimetal13 He is a banshee...but one of his good friends - jeff buckley - a different being of a different range can speak otherwise...so too..leanard cohen...but all quality !! so true...but how can you discount Eddie...He is at one of his best times here doubtless....

  • @TheFringeBenefit1 Jeff Buckley is also an amazing singer, but god dammit, if someone can hear Chris shouting Jesus Christ Pose by Soundgarden, he's convinced his voice has no rivals. What Jeff Buckley does is put a lot of emotion in his singing, which makes it so great (For me he's 10 times better than Leonard Cohen)

  • I want this song played after stairway to heaven in my funeral

  • @SuperCarneseca Good choices< bit I have a better one for my last song. How about Say hello 2 heaven the Rain when I die by (Alice In Chains) that will make the house cry.

  • this song made me chill like it was winter, and we're suffering the hottest summer here in years.

  • @NekGuitar me too i live in texas and its been 110 degrees for a month straight now lol this song does the same thing to me also

  • @jdmdoorsforever they said hello, to heaven :). Now they're in a better place :) RIP

  • this song is beautiful. and i don't toss around that word easily

  • @okraybay who the fuck are you? faggot song? u must listen to lil wayne speak to a beat...this is poetry sang to a melody...u obviously listen to rap music...A TRAINED MONKEY COULD SING RAP MUSIC MORON

  • once i heard this faggot song and could see all the messed up suburban white kids walking around with blue hair I knew we were fucked.

  • @okrabay and we know why black kids run around with their pants on the ground 9mm in their pockets and aluminum foil in their mouths!! Get a fuckin grip!!

  • @shearcountry34 its because of the social inequalities and racism that young black kids do that, but thats only a few, most are in harvard or yale.

  • @okrabay Maybe the blue haired suburban white kids have the same issues!! Did you ever stop to think that maybe just maybe the senator of your state had blue hair at some point? Do you think some of the Blue haired kids might be in Harvard or Yale or possibly Princeton?? Just a thought or do you do much of that lately?

  • @okrabay Maybe the blue haired suburban white kids have the same issues!! Did you ever stop to think that maybe just maybe the senator of your state had blue hair at some point? Do you think some of the Blue haired kids might be in Harvard or Yale or possibly Princeton?? Just a thought or do you do much of that lately?

  • @shearcountry34 hey hey im half black and im not running around with a gun or sagging my pants, not everyone is a stereotype dude. lol you get a grip and ignore the idiot. But anyways, long live Chris Cornell and Pearl Jam!

  • We'll miss you, gentle giant, your smile, your presence and your soul. Rest in peace mate, you should not have been taken away from us. Peace.

  • ummm how bout most important who this song was written for but ANDY WOOD....if it wasnt for him and mother love bone who wouldnt have had half these groups we had today

  • Chris Cornell wrote this song for his roommate, Andrew Wood, of Mother Love Bone, who died of a herion overdose. If you don't like this song, shame on you.

  • Happy birthday stone and cornell ... :D :D

  • for your first video great job man thanx i lovethis song takes me back to when i was a teen and life was full of promise

  • @robpavi1 i know what you mean, bro. but, you know even after my first ex turned my two oldest children against me (daughter named Faith, ironic), my other ex turned my two youngest sons against eachother and the child support people want a full 85% of my income (not really sure how that is going to turn out since uncle sam usually wants 20% for taxes) the truth is that life is what you make it. don't let the f-ckers get you down.

  • @hidendiamond yeah im there doin theat now plus i have terminal cancer so its hard not to be down but thanks for he incouragement

  • Though this song was written for Andrew Wood, the lyrics just as easily work for Layne Staley. Cobain too. But when I hear this song, I think of Staley (and Hendrix). But, in any case, it's a excellent song. The musicians do their thing perfectly. And Cornell has never been better. I'll go on playing this for many years.

  • forgot about andrew wood the main reason temple of the dog became a band

  • this is a beautiful tribute to a buddy, and also an AMAZING vocal performance!

  • stuff like this makes me wish i was old enough in the 90s to expericnce everything that was happening, good and bad.

  • possibly THE most underrated song off all time period! f'n amazing!

  • @armyfan23 I couldn't agree more.

  • @Lekter with you there bro.

  • @armyfan23 of all time! im an idiot!

  • @armyfan23

Shit, Temple of the Dog and Mad Season all but slipped under the radar. Chris and Layne were and still are the true lyricists of grunge.

  • @armyfan23

Indeed. There's nothing quite like Say Hello to Heaven but Heaven itself.

  • @armyfan23 I had the pleasure of seeing them live in 1992 at Kansas City. What an awesome concert.

  • Best Temple of Dog song hands down....but thumbs up!

  • this 4th of july weekend i dedicate this song to all the fallin soldiers and all of yu alive protecting us each day thank you Love this song and all that fight for us every day to stay alive

  • hello

  • Can't believe this was from 1990, it seems like yesterday. Damn wish we could turn back time....

  • Can't believe this was from 1990, it seems like yesterday. Damn wish we couls turn back time....

  • So chris is christian?

  • R.I.P Ryan Dunn and Bradly

  • R.I.P Ryan Dunn

  • 33 people thought that "dislike" is the same as "dis i like"

  • @laithlaith91 Actually, Chris is a Heldentenor, not a High Baritone. A high baritone is more like Layne Stanley.

  • @eriot100 Chris is a true baritone, he can comfortably sing low notes such as G#2 in beyond the wheel demo and his lowest note is a B1 I think

  • Why does this singer sound so much like the vocalist of Van Halen?

  • @UnpopularPoppy coz they're both High Baritones (voice type) if u dont knw wat I mean, u shud look up voice types I guess

  • @UnpopularPoppy Chris Cornell sounds nothing like David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar!

  • Best Chris Cornell song ever!!!

  • R.I.P Andrew

  • 33 people died in the making of this amazing youtube video.
