Is this the guy who dreamed of NBA? I don't know if the Iranians can stomach that-working on David Stern which is Jewish. Its like taboo on their culture. This guy once he'll taste money and freedom, he wont be coming back to Iran.

No one catches you unless some neighbor calls police. There is no "Normal price" for banned stuff so it's priced reasonably high, for example 1 bottle of wine costs about $100. It's the same as buying Marijuana in the US. People don't mind the price.
A decente bottle of wine, costs 4€ in Portugal, a playboy 4€ and prostss startting at 50€. I suppose somet things improved since the Shah Pahlevi left, but the living standards surely degraded with the Islamic Revolution and subsequent Teocracy. He only started playing basketball a little while ago. He was a soccer player in his town only because of his height he changed to basketball. If he played for a decade in highschool and earlier like most NBA players he would have been much faster now. Still, if Grizzlies give him more than 2 minutes per game he can contribute more than the rest. Mark Gasol can't hardly get 5 points in his 22 minutes/game.
He's a shy 24 year old who can hardly speak English. I bet he's even afraid to be too aggressive on the floor thinking he might hit someone and upset them. Right now I like his rebounds, blocking, fouls at right times, and defense. His quickness needs improving but in his last game I've noticed him gaining muscles & moving faster. I'm sure as he learns English & uses American gyms, within 2 years, he'll become a Dunken-type player. But I hate 2see Grizzlies coach giving Thabeet & gasol his time.
i don't see why he's complaining about his playing time with the grizs. his skill set isn't great and i doubt his defense is even existent. hell he's not going to be playing when marc gasol and hasheem thabeet are obviously superior. and then even stephen hunter is better than him too.
the grizzlies don't play him because they have marc gasol and darko milicic. two already capable NBA centers. i'd rather see hamed on the court than darko next season, though. darko's listed as C/F, so maybe they'll run a bigger lineup and hamed will get some minutes.
This guy was owned by 6'7 forward Kerby Raymundo during Tokushima Fiba Asia...he fouled out guarding Raymundo..Hamed only scored 3 during that game...FYI he was guarded by a much smaller defender 6'9 Asi Taulava and 6'7 Kerby Raymundo and Hamed is 7'2...imagine... :)

A true basketball fan(like me) knows knows he needs a lot of work before he makes any impact in the NBA. The Memphis Grizzlies also have Marc Gasol(Pau's brother)signed up. The Grizz will emphasize defense and rebounding this year as they were one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA. I'm not saying Hamed will be the next Wilt but we need all the help we can get

No one has said he can't play. The NBA just hasn't applied with the State Department to allow them to deal with Iran to bring this kid over for workouts. David Stern has said that they are applying for this exception, and I'm sure it will be granted, but the law dictates that the NBA has to apply for that exception.
Hopefully we will get a chance to either see him fail horribly and get dunked on like Shawn Bradley LOL, or maybe he will be of some service, and possibly a good role model and spokesman for Iranian's, to help sway America's horrible propaganda related towards Iranian's. Contrary to popular opinion, they are good people who want nothing more that to asimilate to the West.

Gasol did make the Lakers better. However, one of the reasons why Gasol is so helpful is because he is a threat with the pick and roll. And can shoot mid-range. Sure He can get to the basket and dunk, but he isn't a dominate post player. He mostly dominates against weak players (smaller people) and when faced with someone who's his height he struggles every time.

We'll take almost anybody over 7ft right now. we are undersized and we get our asses kicked(especially down low) on a nightly basis. A true basketball fan(like me) knows knows he needs a lot of work before he makes any impact in the NBA. The Memphis Grizzlies also have Marc Gasol(Pau's brother)signed up. The Grizz will emphasize defense and rebounding this year as they were one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA. I'm not saying Hamed will be the next Wilt but we need all the help we can get

No one has said he can't play. The NBA just hasn't applied with the State Department to allow them to deal with Iran to bring this kid over for workouts. David Stern has said that they are applying for this exception, and I'm sure it will be granted, but the law dictates that the NBA has to apply for that exception.

Gasol did make the Lakers better. However, one of the reasons why Gasol is so helpful is because he is a threat with the pick and roll. And can shoot mid-range. Sure He can get to the basket and dunk, but he isn't a dominate post player. He mostly dominates against weak players (smaller people) and when faced with someone who's his height he struggles every time.
