  • @julio1320 Nice work, I have the very same model but after booting with rBoot LE, and iAtkos L1, with the cpus / busratio flags, the installation doesn't go anywhere, it just shows the "connect mouse/keyboard" images and does nothing (the trackpad works). Could you elaborate on how you got it to install?

  • @joaopbnogueira You need to plug in an usb keyboard, after that you should be in :)

  • @julio1320 You're right, I did it afterwards and it worked. Thank you.

  • Does the multitouch gestures work when running the MAC OS?

  • plwase. PLEASE do a tutorial. im begging you

  • to get wifi working, get a realtek wifi card. i have a dv6 quad (2010 plastic model) and i had to hack my bios for HP to accept any other wifi card. and i did and installed a card pulled from a mac book pro and i have wifi on both windows and Mac. im selling it thought to get a dv6-6100 because truthfully, i find mac to not to be more special than windows rather than few goodies. idk whats the fuss about it. anyway, great job on getting mac running. its not easy . its a pain but woth it

  • Hey man, how did you get the i7-2630QM to work in Snow Leopard? I can't install Lion as it says I need a QuadCore, Xeon etc.. but my processor is currently unrecognized..

  • @oblivionfreak1 that i7 is not recognized by SL because its an sandy bridge processor, and you will only get support for it after 10.6.8 (maybe) and up. So if you want Lion, you would have to either upgrade to 10.6.8 (your machine will probably get a kp) or install from scratch like i did.

  • @julio1320 thanks for your quick response. Yes i'm already in 10.6.8, but i want an upgrade to lion, but i can't because my unrecognized processor causes an "you need an i7, i5, Xeon... to continue install lion".. but you managed to do it..

  • Could you possibly make a tut?

  • Julio, please a tuto! I have the same hardware as you!

  • @instcaminhosoriente,@iTommySebastian

I will make a tut in a week or so. I'm going through midterms so yeah, I don't have a lot of free time D:.

  • Hey dude, nice video! Can you please tell me how you dual booted it?

  • @gtaguy1217 To do this first you have to erase your whole HDD. To do so, all you have to do is load the iAtkos Installer, then go to disk utility, and format the disk in 2 paritions. The Mac Partition has to be formated as Mac OS X journaled, and the windows partition has to be formated as FAT32. After that you just have to finish installign os x and then you can proceed to install windows.

  • @julio1320 What's the battery life like?

  • Just make sure that you keep taping both keys. Do not just tap f10 after a. U can tap them at the same time.

  • To access the advanced menu, just tap f10 and a at booting. Hope this helps.

  • @haikbvik nah, that doesn't work. To access the advanced menu i have to tap f10 + a but it doesn't work...

  • Hey i just made it with my envy! I made it from cd, just need to plug in a usb keyboard. It could be slow but worked!

  • @haikbvik Congrats :D, it wont be slow, but you will be limited to use only 1 cpu unless you change a thing on your bios. Im trying to change it but since i can't access the advanced features menu, im still stuck with only 1 cpu D:, if i find anything to make it work with all 4 of them, i'll let you guys know :D

  • Any chance you go 6630M to work?

Also, what about brightness control on keyboard? Does that work? If so, then how?

    Also, what about WiFi?

    What about multitouch touchpad?

    What about USB3?

I have the same laptop and I have been able to install Lion on it except the above mentioned things.

  • @cutshortfilms Nope, the 6630M is still not working, even though the new Mac Mini uses that GPU which is weird that it doesn't work. I can't control brightness with my keyboard but i can with sound, i also have the apple wireless keyboard and i cant change the brightness with it. There's no solution for the WiFi card unless you want to swap it, or use an usb dongle which is the thing that im using. The touchpad is kinda working, i can swipe to the left and right, and go up and down but thats it.

  • @cutshortfilms USB 3.0 wont work, but it should work if i can find the right kext. Everytime i plug in something onto that port, my pc freezes, does the same happen to you?

  • @julio1320 Thanks for the reply. How did you make the touchpad work? Do you have the kexts for it?

And yes, everytime I plug into USB 3.0 the pc freezes.

  • In other words you have to install the chameleon bootloader in your Mac partition if you want to use the org.chameleon.Boot.plist from the /Extra/ folder. It will not work from cd. Hope it helps.

  • @samukbg Thank you so much, it did work :D, now is there a way to use more than just 1 cpu?

  • Yes there is another thing, 1. you are booting from the cdrom bootloader. The version of this bootloader from the cd is 13xx (i could'nt see it right in your video). 2 After the 1xxx version of chameleon bootloader they don't use "com.apple.Boot.plist" anymore, they changed the name to "org.chameleon.Boot.plist". So what you have to do is: Install the same chameleon bootloader version of your cd from kext. com and make your Mac partition active by pointing the boot flag to it (disk0sX) in fdisk.

  • @samukbg Thanks. Now i am booting from the HDD and not the cd. btw im using Chimera, not chameleon, so do you know how to do it in chameleon? thanks.

  • Dude.. how did you install the lion using rBoot? I'm so lost. Can you please help me out

  • @desiwebcast Do you have any experience at this?

  • @julio1320 Yeaah. I tried everything but then it shows a weird logo (Circle with a / sign) on the apple screen. If I boot without rBoot. It gets stuck on the iAtkos options.

  • Thanks Julio! I'm burning the dvd now. I hope it works (all other dvds failed to boot on this machine, lol)

Kickass laptop ya got there mate ;)

  • What other mods did you do to get this to work? Just straight install from iAtkos L1? Any specifics?

  • @dannyzen Nothing else. Just straight rBoot + iAtkos L1 :D.

  • Heyy! Dude I've HP DV7T Quad Edition with similar specs.

I've the same processor, same audio, same ram size. Did you use any kexts after installation?

  • @desiwebcast Some PS2 kexts for my clickpad, i could move it, but couldn't click with it. I recommend you to use some usb mouse and keyboard after the installation, so you can install all the necesary kexts without going crazy because your trackpad doesnt work lol.

  • good job! and great machine.

  • @samukbg Thanks :D. BTW, how are you booting without typing busratio=20 cpus=1?

i tried adding those boot flags to the com.apple.boot.plist file and it didn't work.

  • ok mate thanks for the info :)

  • hey does facetime work? i have same laptop but i get server encounted an error when i try logging into facetime. also what tutorial did you follow thanks

  • @MrT3chnology I can't tell if it works right now, because the first time i booted the camera was working, but now it isn't so yeah sorry.

  • @MrT3chnology btw, i didn't follow any tutorials, you just need to use rBoot and iAtkos L, and you should be fine (if you have the same specs as mine)
