It's a good idea. That way everyone, not just "white trash Americans" can see videos in their respective language instead of having to sort through foreign videos they can't understand.
How annoying would it be for you to get a suggested video in Hindu when the title of the video implies it's in your native language, and you'd really like to see that video in your native language?

Do you think anyone likes looking for a video and finding a thumbnail for it with an English title and watching it and its in a different language? Hell no, its frustrating. They ask you what languages you speak when you make your account. If they're not going to show you videos that are in that/those language(s), why ask in the first place? So yes, he is the asshole here.
