  • Since this video was made in 2009, & it's 2012 now? Did they give up on this technology or are they still working on it, because I have never seen this until now? :) thumbs up though.

  • Unreal tournament on this + the engine of unreal 4(if not later). NOW NOW NOW, MUST HAVE!

  • lol try going prone lol

  • Sonic on this :D

  • Call of Duty on this, now that would be funny to see :D

  • I wanna play Super Monkey Ball with..THIS!.....

  • So when this becomes standard gaming. This will make kids no longer grow fat sitting around playing games but make them dangerously skinny because they will never get out of that ball to eat lol.

  • How scripted was this? 100%?

  • you need someone to close the ball when you are inside?and to get out?ok im alone i just let the hole open and hope not to step in it:-)

  • NEED DAT VIRTUSPHERE! O_O

  • Lets play starfox DO A BARREL ROLL

  • What happens when you walk in front of a wall? Uhh, nevermind, keep walking! :p

  • Skyrim will be fun on this

  • Make it $2000ish, console compatible and I guarantee people will buy it. Especially if there are games made to debut with it similar to the kinect. I'll be waiting ;)

  • What if you walk into a wall and keep running?

  • How many decibels of noise does it produce.... ?

  • you play BF3. run across and then try to stop... sphere keeps spinning and you smash your face =D

  • @xXScribalXx The legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time never had an actual jump function. That didn't stop it from becoming a perfect game.

  • what happens if you fall and break your ass?

  • Whoops, you're character tripped!

  • One Thing, THERE IS NO JUMP FUNCTION! xD!!!!

  • ..... how long before i can get porn on it?

  • We need this technology to be adapted for Garry's Mod. Talk about amazing!

  • it will never take off gamers are lazy

  • I wonder how you would go prone.

  • maybe the future society will not be so fat

  • produce electricity for gaming! you wont get out of there to pay for electricity, only if you will go to eat an shit..

  • portal games would be awsome

  • LOL gamers are now hamsters.

  • Fuck all that, I just want my virtual walk in realMyst. Always hated the puzzle, thought it was the most obtuse game I've ever played... it doesn't even make sense WITH a walkthrough at times... but the setting was MAGICAL. The moment full practical VR becomes possible is the moment I'll walk around realMyst. With a walkthrough in hand, preferably.

  • S'funny, last time I saw VR was in 1991 - graphics have come on a weee bit since then! LOL

  • It's 2012, this was made in 2009.........why isn't this in Walmart already?

  • WHite knight productions???????? Fucking white knight.

  • how much i wont one :)

  • A few issues are probably your first step and stopping, but im sure after some getting used to it this would not bother you. Another issue is the price. I saw another video where the informer said the price is almost 35,000. I think i would rather buy a nice car, but oh-well im looking forward to the day when I can literally be in a game and this is a nice step towards that.

  • but, what happened when you must jump :D ?

  • In soviet Russia Gerbil watch you run around in a ball.

  • Just add 3d and its a wrap! Nintendo needs to think like this and put these in arcades. This thing seems awesome and all... but will it blend?

  • It's virtualboy all over again.

    Oh boy.

  • "by 2052 we expect to sell 5"

  • i think giant vengeful hamsters came up with this...

  • lol that program was russian lol

  • This is like having a big penis in livingroom... good for nothing... I want good games not visual shit.

  • mirrors edge nough said

  • what happens if the ball comes off the platform. While you're in it. lol

  • It's very cool, but I don't think it will catch on with the general population because of the sheer size of the thing. When we find a way to connect our brains to the location, that is when it will take over.

  • i would minecraft the shit out of this thing

  • I wonder how many guys gonna get to be freaked crazy out.. Play BF3 on this with nvidia surround on your glasses gonna mek you feel like you're on real war lol

  • its like your taking a walk in a different place -___-, woman

  • lol they keep saying that its gonna revolutionize the gamin industry...its about to be 2012 and im still sitting on the couch lol

  • my prediction is if these things go big there will be game lounges where there will be hundreds of these in one building and we either reserve a room or walk in and pay to play

  • Will fit perfectly in my basement :I

  • im wanna play bf 3 with this *-*

  • I can't wait 'til we can watch movies on our glasses.

  • They were on that show American Inventor.

  • how do you jump o.O?

  • "хрясь", "бдыц"? Trololo russian programmers

  • Hows this ganna fit in my house?! -_- highly impractical, but its great in theory!

  • @asdfADRiAN This is probably for the arcades and not for your home but you're right it is a great theory.

  • this should be in every arcade,

  • How would work offline multiplayer?? lol....Hopefully this thing will not be too expensive ¬_¬

  • price?

  • What game are they playing with the midget guys with guns?

  • imagine how mind-blowned they would have been if they played BF3 in that system

  • I had the same idea as this but my brother said it was not piratical because no one would get a huge ball just to play video games... Now I'm going to show him this video and rub it in his face! Personally I would love to see this combined with this watch?v=lV3j2Yxv7jY now that would be a very epic mix.

  • This doesn't work for long term use. The eyes will grow tired within 1 hour and long term affects of the goggles will damage your eyes.

The screen itself must be integrated into the ball. Using flexible screen technology to make the sphere out of the scrreen material itself would make much more sense.

The other obvious problem is running within the sphere. An abrupt stop would most likely trip the user and make them fall.

Jumping within the sphere could be a problem as well.

  • virtual Russia!

  • on 0:35 is minecraft on the screen?

  • if i told you ive invented an omni directional treadmill that you can put a sceen in that allows you to run a fast as you can and change direction at that speed. ive got a design for a virtual room that is totally surrounded by screens including floor and roof would you hire me. 1 way it would be better then yours is when you look straight down you see yourself in a sphere in my design you still see the digital world your in you dont have to wear anything on your head

  • @newi1213 The difference is they actually did it, you are still an 8 year old making doodles when you are in class.

  • @TheNecrosisx all in good time my friend it'll be here and you'll be first in line

  • @newi1213 actually, what you just said would be insanely awesome :D cool thing especially about it is they have special screens that can bend, so you could get a spherical shape with it!

  • 0:17

    1:34

  • 0:17

  • this is stupid. what happens if you run and suddenly stop?

  • @olesto good question lol

  • only 10 grand! lol

  • This won't revolutionize shit

PEople can't fit this in their living room....arcades don't want to give up the real estate for something with many insurance problem...same thing as trade shows...great way to get people hurt.

Not to mention...you get running you need to use momentum to stop it...which is when people fall and start tumbling.

  • @CorporalHotdogs the omni treadmill is basically teh solution to al those problems you mentioned.

  • @TheStfu1000 The tread mill stops the momentum problem. But it's still huge.

I can see that being at certain trade shows (as it already will be), but never in somebody's living room unless they are filthy rich.

  • @CorporalHotdogs essentially the greatest size it has to be is however far someone can jump (at full spead running). but you could exclude this from games in which the greatest length would be however far someone's legs are apart whilst running e.t.c. some people have treadmills in there house for excercise... therefore this could be possible.

  • Human hamster.

  • No, please, no.

  • "Hey let's have people run around in a generic looking airfield and have enemies spawn directly on top of them to show off our bad graphics!"

Nice in theory, but it needs to be hooked up to a real game on more powerful hardware if they want people to buy it.

  • Too bad if you run you can faceplant.

  • Most people that I have encountered that are really into games most of the time are pretty slim.

  • Looks like that ball has a lot of inertia...

  • Great stuff! This will replace tred mills. The $1000 or hundreds people pay for exercise equipment could easily transition to buying this equipment. Exercising indoors could be far more motivating this way too. A game or virtual training environment could give the positive feedback needed to be well motivated and have fun.

  • I want to buy one.

  • I've always thought about this...I'm glad to see someone is actually doing it.

  • i would buy one of this but first i need a house

  • they should offer it to a John Doer type of venture capitalist. I think it can be remarkable ...soon! I get tired of OLeary crapping on many descent ideas. I would also like to hear Mark Cuban's opinion of this piece of technology.

  • this my friends is the comeback of arcades in a completely new tech

  • i wish they did.

  • fool fool fool

  • This will only work for flat floor games, if you have to jump to higher ground or jump from higher ground it will not seem real to the player, plus climbing stairs it will also be a problem probably,

  • @landervast still more realistic than the games we have today fool.

  • @Nickoloctopus Do I know you??? Don't call me a fool pal I'm not one of your acquaintances. Everybody has the right to their opinion without ofending.

  • @landervast Of course I don't know you you flying fuck, I can see you're a total Douche bag peace out fool.

  • @Nickoloctopus From the way you answered me I can see you have the I.Q. of an amiba, start using your neurons to argument with others instead of your ignorance...and by the way, I didn't said this system wasn't an improvement, I said they still have a long way to go....fool

  • OMG. Excercise+Gaming=Awesome

  • They actually have 3D treadmill type setups which work much better than this, I'm just saying.

  • Google earth should adopt this contraption! :) I wouldn't mind taking a hike through a faraway country.

  • what happens if you jump for cover? what happens if you fall on your face?

  • Briliant! travel to any place, play inside any where.Genial!

  • if it can play almost anything, i need one for minecraft

  • this is scary it has only one hole so you cant tell which one to get out from nooooo

  • this is just like the first car... no regular person can aford. someone needs to come along and make a cheaper version of this like Henry Ford.

  • YES!!! They're putting this in near me at Hope Lake!

  • I hope i'm alive when we have holodecks.

  • Or make a tube with a sphere on the bottom, similar to an old mouse ball. With a screen that bends around. Then you could fit it in your room. And the ball could have shocks so you can jump. Maybe a bar around the inside to hold on to.

  • American Gladiators game available on launch.

  • imagine Minecraft in this thing!!

    :D

  • how im gonna play assassins creed in there

  • *Run* *Trip up inside the ball and can't get back up.

  • I hope its stereoscopic.

  • I would be extremely fit.

  • what if the game reqires you to jump?

  • For only 13 million you can have an epileptic seizure and the occasional fractured leg!

  • If you running forward really fast, how hard is it to stop and change directions such as strafing. All FPS need a lot of strafing to be very competitive.

  • @lazyorc I imagine you'd break your ankles lol

  • I really want to play DOOM3 in that thing.

  • I'd be embarrassed to have this in my home.

  • ma CHE BELOOOOOOOOOO! bellissimo spaziale quello che volevo

  • 1:36 And Porn!

  • Now you need to make a Virtusphere 2.0 that can be quickly and easily compacted when not in use. It takes up a lot of space.

  • All i need now is 5 hour energy.

  • Great idea, but where the hell are you gonna put that!!?

  • This + Painkiller would be awesome

  • Awesome! How much do you think this thing costs?

  • shit if they had a give away i want it!!!!!

  • fuck dis, just give a controller. After 2 shooter games you'll already be tired :/

  • @meskens93 Not if you camp :carling:

  • We're gonna have some ripped gamers, lol.

  • This is crapI did that yesterday I fell down all the time you can stop that shit from moving and you must walk like an old lady to get it right...plus you want to throw up after you get out

  • The jumping part in fps would break the ball though

  • Comment removed

  • this is a great idea, i saw this for first time in shark tank, they shuold invest in this I think this is going to work; Itis awesome adn it looks fun, I WANT TO TRY IT

  • I'm a fast runner. Hell I could even be a track star if I wanted to. The piont is no one can out run me in the game but in normal game for the PS3 and the XBOX 360 your just as fast as the other players.

  • @RAYtheIMAN

Remember, there's always someone better. Always.

  • @stbays

    true but most are not.

  • @RAYtheIMAN

If set ups like this became common place, I bet we'd find out just how many are out there. Me, I'd love this as I love physical exertion. I'd probably spend most of my free time playing games in it. Might be the closest we'll ever get to a holodeck.

Heck, imagine the nerds who are obsessive about their favorite games. Instead of over weight people, we'd have a whole new generation of potential track stars.

  • you see the "Wii" only lets you jump up and down and it also lets you wave your hands wave around like an idiot

  • "Fallout New Veags" "Portal 2" and "Black Ops" FTW

  • since technology gets smarter every YEAR what would happen in five years please reply

  • I love VR games. i've played them, but you had to push a button to make the character move. Now this sphere is too big and expensive. How about just using the technology with the headset and accessories (guns, etc) and have a horizontally rotating treadmill. As you shift your body left or right, the treadmill turns that direction and then you walk forward on the treadmill. Also it could shift 45 degrees in any direction you lean for realism (including jumping, crawling, laying down).

  • @houstondodgeball

How would the treadmill sence you a rotate in the direction your going. How will it know when you going to slow down or run as fast as you can. In this sphere it simply uses gravity to move you throw the game. And if you where to jump you would fall. You can test that by runing on a treadmill and jumping.

  • @RAYtheIMAN good point.

  • @houstondodgeball

hope you dont take any ofenceof my reply.

  • @RAYtheIMAN not at all, my silly treadmill idea was off the cuff and I was generally thinking out loud. If I were a serious inventor, I would have just made the dumb thing and not told anyone for fear of my precious prototype or idea being stolen, lol.

  • @houstondodgeball

that pretty smart haveing a dumb idea so others can steal it and then you can have a good idea while the other people are wasting their life on something useless.

  • @RAYtheIMAN that's funny Ray. I just meant that I wouldn't share a valuable invention/idea with others, not that I want to trip people up. But actually tripping people up like that has been done before by companies like Apple and MS in this movie "pirates of silicon valley" watch it here:

    youtube.com/watch?v=xflXMZL2stU

(watch part 1, part 2, part 3 part 4, all the parts)

you will enjoy it. I did :D

  • @houstondodgeball

    thank man.

  • @houstondodgeball

Just watched that. Was an interesting film. Funny how it seems without Xerox, we wouldn't be where we are today.
