  • This guy is the fucking master

  • chirpybee....more important ?..thats subjective chirpy .to wheteher you want to have a bigger audience or be better at the instrument....my point is Tony is clearly the better guitarist..not sunjective..oh some may prefer to listen to Page or SRV ..but neither could ever pkay music rhis complicated

  • Damn, it came very sloppy, i´m sorry, but it´s true is a hard as hell song

  • freaking rocks!!!

  • I find it sad that most of the commenting here to are too busy comparing and putting down other guitarists.Tony,Jimi, Satriani, and Vai all have unique styles and backgrounds. To say which guitarist is better than the other is highly opinion based.

Just enjoy their music and aprreciate the fact that all of these guys have special talents to be proud of and that they are willing to share them with the rest of the world.

  • aaah weoon. tengo guitarrista favorito del segundo semestre !!

    Bravooooooooooooo !!

  • if i knew only what this dude has forgotten i would be good

  • @ShellerThePimp....Page was an awesome songwriter..but as a guitarist doesnt come close to Tony..AND YOU KNOW IT old man....I can play any Page tune.with ease ..including his phrasing and little silly nuances ..I cant play Tony M tunes at all..neither can Page

  • @nneevveerrmmoorree All of which goes to show that it's the music which is more important than the technique. Which has had the greatest impact on the most people?

  • one very overlooked and under-rated guitar player. jimmy page? please! you fools who think talent simply comes from from what you grew up with should slide up your moms rather large verginy and be true to the fact that innovators do not really equal talent.Page, Hendrix, wannabees! thats right! Charo is a better player than those two hacks combined! suck it!

  • maestro ¡¡

  • @ibanez he is better than jimi and honestly probably better than many out there

  • @ibanez he is better than jimi and honestly probably better than many out there

  • black guys need to stick to basketball, period

  • @ibanezhartke71

You can't be serious? Or are you?

  • @ExtremeBogom did i say something that would make you think im not serious? Jimmy Hendrix was an acid tripping sloppy slouch of a fucking guitarist, but wait, he was black so lets give him all the credit in the world. same case with Macalpine, oh wow hes black, hes fuckin amazing , kiss my ass!!!

  • @ibanezhartke71

Racism is one thing, but ignorance is another.

Sure Hendrix wasn't musically trained, but Macalpine IS a classically trained pianist. A much better musician than many. But wait...he's black(gasp)....he can't be given respect surely?

Do you really think black artists get immediate respect because they're black? You know damn right that's not true.

You are either a troll, or a typically ignorant fool. Which is it?

  • @ibanezhartke71 Hendrix influened all the greats. Macalpine hasnt. Eveyrone who has picked up a guitar since Hendrix has been influened by him in some way. He started playing at age 15 and died at 27 whih is only 12 years his career was 3 or 4 years and he accomplished all he did in such a short period of time. Macalpine has been around for almost 20 years 40 years after Hendrix death he is still significant. So far I dont forsee Tony being as valuble. Great but not greater

  • nick1989 im going to go out on a limb and bet you dont even play an instrument. what are you 12? suck elephant dick? whats next, you going to talk about my mother or some other childish attempt at an insult?

like i said, Satriani is a pure pentatonic mediocre guitarist with a popular name who could not hold a candle to the likes of most well trained classical guitarist's.

wouldnt expect you to understand that considering all you have on your mind is dick.

    keep playin that skin flute.

  • @ibanezhartke71

You have no idea what you're talking about, you obviously haven't heard any of Satch's stuff. And now you're comparing him to classical trained guitarists. You don't get it man, just appreciate all of them and enjoy they're music for how it appeals to you. And you're saying that you bet that I don't play an instrument when you have a channel that has nothing on it that you use to talk shit on other guitarists, real nice dude.

  • Tony Mac is a great player, along with the rest of the neo classical shred crew..But how far can you take shreding beyond Malmsteen? Vai seperates himself with his whammy tricks, Satch is the soulful minimalist. I'm Curious, what direction will the next Guitar hero take?

  • satriani is a joke!!!! the last good thing satriani did was surfing with the alien. he in no way shape or form compares to the likes of vai, paul gilbert, jason becker, malmsteen and the list goes on and on. stick with chicken foot satriani, it suits you well to be surrounded with other slacker musicians who only thrive for the mainstream limelight.

  • @ibanezhartke71

fuck you, you suck elephant dicks, have you never checked out his material on the extremist, crystal planet, is there love in space, flying in a blue dream, etc. You're truly fuckin retarded if you compare these guys, they're all great and none of them are better than the other. If you're not into Satch, that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion, but don't say shit about him. get a fuckin grip

  • I thought Greg Howe was the only other black guy with fluid rapid fire fingers but this dude just is sublime. Very progressive rock like style. Amazing. And the composition is really good. Steve Vai watch out.

  • This guy should tour with Joe Satriani!

  • MAcdaddy IS the triple threat!.

  • the most simple guitarist i've ever seen....

  • THE NEO CLASSICAL PIONEER WITH YNGWIE.

  • A TRUE LEGEND FROM THE 80, S WHEN METAL RULED THE EARTH.

  • Uh...Wow!

  • Greetings friends and where it is possible to download this concert?

  • This video makes his skin look much darker than it really is. Just for interest.

  • Edge of insanity...the reason I still play guitar.

  • donde puedo conseguir ese dvd?

  • is that fucking Mike Terrana on the drums??? haha jesus !

  • what a mothafucka...

  • Edge of insanity album rules my life

  • tony is so under rated

  • @kelsonjamie INDEED!

  • This guy is stuck playing KEYBOARDS BEHIND Steve Vai? I guess that's the only way Vai would ever dare to share the stage with Tony.

Tony is probably the best neo-classical player Shrapnel produced. Tony would eat Vai for lunch and shit him out as 32nd notes.

    God bless Tony, he's GREAT.

  • @floobeytubey funny. Not cuz I disagree. Cuz I think it's funny.

  • @floobeytubey There are videos of Steve Vai & Tony MacAlpine playing guitars together onstage.

  • @floobeytubey he does play guitar live with him as well but hes as exceptional with keys as he is strings so hes vais double edged blade

  • @floobeytubey Dude Tony is great no doubt, but he is not in any way on level with steve vai. He is a video of vai playing right along side tony, and the best neoclassical player Shrapnel ever produced was hands down jason becker who destroys Macalpine.

  • @floobeytubey preach it brother keep telling the truth

  • swepmacalpinepicking es muy dificil

  • perfeito ..............pai dos !!!guitars!!!!

  • i remember meeting him when he had the hair, not this hootie and hootfish look.

  • SKILLS....SUCH SKILLS!

  • omg

ken smith's basses in metal style?

  • Bang nice comment. He is an incredible pianist/ keyboardist/ guitarist. But not just this, he doesn't take the spot light away from the rest of the band. He knowingly does long term squeals and slow breakdowns just to let the drummer stand out. Personally they make a very good team.

  • <.< that drummer is epic

    anyone knows his name?

  • @XDariXx Mike Terrana

  • Damn...he SHREDS!!! I first heard this about 20 years ago. Also look for "The Witch and the Priest".

    McManus, T.

    Greg H. kicks ass too.

  • Little do people that tony has played with Michael jackson's touring band as well as dozens of high profile acts around the word. His key board skills are lengendary, and he is a world renound classical pianist and has played with some of the world best symphonys. The aren't to many people if any that are more talented, why do think vai grabed him up.

  • @NOTEWORKERnm1 excuse my spelling error's, typing to fast again.

  • he is like a black Tom Morello xD awesome !!

  • HOLY FUCK

  • EXCELENTE........

  • I love T-Mac so much after finding out about his incredible music about 6 months ago and I really can't believe he isn't more famous. I'd pay to see this show any day.

    T-mac!!!!

  • Gooooood Neoclassical!!!

  • Cliche' comment as that's true of 99.9 % of 'em. But alas, you missed on this one. Melody is first rate....

  • @blakhaus go play guitar hero if you cant keep up with real musicians

  • Yeah but at least Steve Vai gives him props. At every Vai show I've seen with him he always introduces him as the bands "Musical Genius, and good at anything he picks up", or prodigy, or something of that sort.

  • posted here a month ago. macalpine is so incredible that if he had time to grab a bass or do a drum roll, he wouldn't need his band. (which is top notch in it's own rite.) Christ, he's good. think vai might have a different kind of imagination that tm doesn't but the precision and compostion, i think are so much tighter with tm. (not hating on vai)

  • i agree

  • man, that was awesome. the drummer was dope.

  • what happened to tony? haven't heard him around lately. knew he was with vai a while. what a "forgotten" master. as impressive as vai is, he must have had to constantly look over his shoulder when on stage w/ tony. maybe that is why he "got stuck on keyboards". does he do anything without precision?

  • IIRC he's been touring overseas a LOT. He also now is endorsed by Ibanez.

  • it totally agree i think Tony is amazing i love his playing so much.

It is such a shame everyone knows him as the keyboardist for Vai i knew him before and have kept Macalpine in my collection of music and i cherish his music alot more than others i have.

Tony Is a real inspiration to me.

I try to find out everything i can on what he is doing these days but there is not much information on his where abouts.

I hope he tours soon and come to the UK.

  • scuola da malmesteen ?

  • cool

  • that's why vai's as awesome as MacAlpine, he's got his own style XD

  • I think this is a classical piece,which is?

  • MacAlpine looks like he's on picnic, gotta love that.

  • lol this drummer rock the house xD

  • The piano-part just kills me...

    So fantastic music!

  • great song!

  • Just oh my fvcking god :x.

  • I love the way the key changes at 1:33, its like im gonna kick your ass time!!! lol T-MAC SIMPLY ROCKS!!!

  • there is no key change there...

  • great musician

  • Great indeed...

  • SHIT hes ripping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hehe!you don't see a black dude pick up a guitar very often,but when they do-god they sound awesome!(jimi hendrix,tony mcalpine etc...)

  • You are right, if you say that a black guy not often plays rock guitar.

    And Tony Macalpine is amazing.

A other great black guitar player, Greg Howe is very good to.

Listen to bad racket, you will like it.

And Howe started like Macalpine on the guitar heroes label, Shrapnel records from Mike Varney.

  • thanks man!I'll give it listen!cheers!

  • Most talented black man on the planet. Might just be most talented man. on the planet. He rules!

  • and what about jimi hendrix?

  • JH is not in the same league with TM.

  • @Mediterraneanblue9 yeah jimmie hendrix would shit his bell bottoms if he ever heard tony

  • @Mediterraneanblue9 yes... JH is much higher.

JH made better "music" than TM... shredding 100notes a second means nothing if it doesnt sound good.

  • @Mediterraneanblue9

can't see how JH is not in the same league, really. They are both very good players, its just different times and different technique.

  • Jimi is dead

  • tmac rocks

  • Tony Macalpine is a superior guitar palyer.

I believe in opinions but Tony has much much more then Steve Vai i mean people just make him sound like he is the ultimate and he is NOT again when you are honest and your self people don`t like you now Vai is popular but you canot compare his music with Macalpine Tony Macalpine its a Real good guitar player.

  • its not a competition to me...vai can play some shit too...he just (for some odd reason) is a weirdo who plays whacked out shit instead of neoclassical sweeps, taps, and shred like...u know...everyone else.

  • Maybe thats why more people are aware of his existence than like...u know...everyone else

  • most likely. he's unique and that's why i like his music

  • oh, I thought you meant you disliked him, actually I´m not a big fan of Vai but I do favor the fact that he has personality when he plays cause you know after a while all the virtuoso kind of players sound all the same and very few if any dare to do something different, saludos hermano

  • I love Macalpine.

  • the greatest T Mac he is a genius, his music always feed the man´s Soul and his technique is magnific. Better Composer and Guitar Player than Steve i wonder why is he working for Vai because Tmac is Much Better Guitarrist.

  • Plus his guitar is way cooler than a jem :D

  • I have this video and it is fuckin SPECTACULAR!!! 10 out of 10

  • wonder if he still owns those old school b.c rich gunslingers from the edge of insanity era?

  • I love BC Rich Gunslingers, and I don't even like BC Rich :D

  • awe-inpsiring

  • it look like a malmsteen neo classic solos

    hhhhhh

still he is one of the best experimental progressive guitar players ever

  • nice shirt

  • T Mac! You're amazing!

  • what music genre would you call tony macalpine's stuff?

  • ONE OF A KIND!

  • Neo-classical metal I guess

  • T-metal!!!

  • Neo Classical Metal. MacAlpine's stuff is actually different than Yngwies since his classical influence is Romanticism and Yngwie's is Baroque.

  • Awesome tune and title. Tony Shreds with the best of them! I miss the "Hundreds of Thousands" video from this concert. Never saw him live unfortunately.

  • noob

  • tony eats alot of frosties to really boost his tone

  • 神!

  • Does anyone know what has happend to the tears of saharah posts that used to up!! Miss them:-(

  • this is one of my favorite songs

  • THE MASTER

  • i love the taker

  • Tony is GRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT!!!!!!!

  • Yeah It's TMac!

    Great composition!
