  • pure win

  • CHRIS LATTA!!

  • @KHMSeries20

    but...is he is death

  • Cobra Commander is God.

  • @NYG4LIFE123 He's come a long way from being a crazy used car salesman, eh? Or a disgraced Cobra-La nobleman. Whichever tale you believe.

  • ah that was bad ass, good stuff!!

  • You cant touch this!

  • WINDOWS! LMAO!

  • hilarious

  • This is fucking awesome...

  • Awesome, wish I was there.

  • Loving the windows shutdown XD

  • AWESOME

  • I totally remember doing a Sieg Heil to Cobra Commander during the masquerade...shame this wasn't the one...so many good GI Joe skits.

  • I'd touch Cobra Commander there. >:3

  • wish i could have seen this!

  • Not bad! COBRAAA! :D

  • PFFFFT! LOL cool but sortof corny

  • God, it's my entire dream episode, Snake Eyes vs all of Cobra, and Cobra Commander in one on one battle.

  • The highlight of ComicCon indeed!! All wil bow to COBRA!!!!!!

  • they won at wondercon 2009 best in show. iwas there i saw it.

  • The red plastic tip on the Baroness´s gun is so hilarious, hahahaha XD

  • oh shit that was really good! way better than the gi joe movie IMO

  • The second form of Cobra Commander is actually from the series. In season 3 and in the comics Cobra Commander wore that powered up Battle Armor so he could take a more active role on the battlefield. So its more like he powered up for the fight, but with a Power Rangers metaphor added to entertain the audience :D

  • COBRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! ;]

  • U CANT TOUCH THIS HAHA

  • will be going there next year as War Machine!!

  • I came across this on Facebook where a friend posted this up and I have to say that this is one of the best skits I have ever seen.

  • 3:48 LOL XD

  • I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Tomax, Xamot, and the Baroness at BotCon09. I was on the phone with DR. SMOOV talking about these cool Cobra cosplayer I saw, not realizing they were walking past me out of costume. Ha ha. Truly a great "transformation". They are really nice people. :) Had a nice laugh about it at the Paramount Party.

  • Just like in wondercon but w/ the Tele-vipers! ^_^ Ireally like to see a new skit on cobra-con. ^_^

  • Don't forget the B.A.T. ^_^

  • Comic-con exclusives LOL! Really love the skit. and well played by the cosplayers and DR SMOOV. Job well done people keep up the great job!

  • DR SMOOV didn't do the voiceovers.

  • Thank you for the correction. ^_^ just read it in another youtube channel. ^_^

  • No prob ^_^

  • Was that DRSMOOV's Voice? YAY!

  • All the voices were recorded by the performers in the skit (the Tomax, Xamot, and Baroness). But I guess we'll take that as a compliment? :D

  • The Baroness cosplayer did her own voice for the audio track, she also did the battle computer voice. :)

  • wowers

  • 4:57 - Porkchop Sandwiches!! XD

  • Oh this was entirely too funny! I love it!

  • Too be honest this looks 100 times better than tha live action movie coming out!!! Good job Xztophe!!

  • Why 4 fat bitches with backdrops won over this is a travesty. I DEMAND A RECOUNT!!

  • cesariojpn:

I think that criticism is a little unfair. I felt that while the entry that won 'Best in Show' wasn't the best entry, its idea and design for a costume was rather refreshing.

  • Those "four fat bitches" did an excellent job with costuming. I didn't personally prefer their entry to this one, but I can see where the judges were coming from.

  • I was definitely impressed by this entry. It was especially interesting to see up close backstage.

  • Standing in front of a backdrop with amounts to "Toga Party Fare" is not BiS quality. You save that sorta crap for the arthouse on pledge night, not SDCC.

  • 0:58 Hey, down in front!!

  • Xztophe, may I ask, which costume were you in for this skit?

  • I was the Armored Cobra Commander / Season 3 Cobra Commander :)

  • Wow! This was great and funny as heck!

  • They did this same skit at Wonder Con back in February. They shouldn't have been allowed to enter this skit at Comic Con. They wore the same costumes walking around at CC last year. This entry wasn't fair to the other contestants.

  • We were specifically allowed, asked and encouraged to perform even if the skit was the same SDCC by both the masquerade staff and other attendees.(though we did add things) You have no idea how much work and effort was put into this skit, and what sacrifices myself and others made in order to even make the trip and to perform. It was in the spirit of entertaining our fellow fans and if you have a problem with this then at least get your facts straight as to what the rules are for these venues.

  • Even though a variation of this skit was performed earlier this, I still want to thank you for performing it. I was really glad it was performed at Comic-Con because I've never saw the skit before. I was able to see the skit live in person, and I felt that this was the best skit of the masquerade.

That's not to say the other skits were bad. I felt the artistry in costumes and the clever performances in this years entries made this year one of the better masquerades in recent memory.

  • I wasn't bashing your routine, just saying it had been done before & quite recently at SDCC's sister con, WonderCon & wasn't very fair to this year's SDCC's Masquerade entrants. All of the skits require a lot of hard work & coordination & there were many awesome contestants who got screwed over (the Incredible Hulk being the most notable) while your group was allowed to do basically the same skit as you did at WC. There were other WC contestants not allowed in SDCC's Masquerade so why were you?

  • Wondercon entrants have ALWAYS been welcome at Comic Con events & vice versa (for instance the Dalek from CC07 appeared at WC the next year, Alien from WC05 appeared at CC05 etc, both were AWARD WINNERS). We were asked & encouraged to return by staff, likely because it was a good skit and deserved a larger audience. We ADDED 3 more cast&costumes and new elements. Personally I did not want to repeat the skit and had too many difficulties to attend SDCC but I WENT THROUGH HELL to make it happen.

  • If that's the case so be it, but I know for a fact that some WC09 contestants weren't allowed to be in SDCC09. I'm not complaining as I would never repeat a costume/skit @ such a large venue but I do think it was unfair to those who were denied a shot at SDCC09 because they'd just been in WC09.

And for the record, I was FireSTAR at WC, not Firestorm; you didn't even recognize me this year at SDCC09. I wasn't bashing you, I was expressing an opinion so please don't trash my name on here. Thanks.

  • WC/CC masquerade staff reserve the right to reject entries for ANY reason, and Ive seen acts turned away for reasons like costume not made enough by entrant, costume not relevant, performance not flushed out, etc. They have a means of quality of control which is a GOOD thing especially with so many entrants - and even you complain of being there till 1am.

  • If there are WC entrants turned away from repeating at CC it was likely due to quality screening and I suggest those parties ask WC/CC staff directly for the specific reason why they were not allowed. However it is NOT COOL to go and say another act didn't deserve to enter, when it fact IS allowed in the rules, but subject to the other rule of the staff's right to reject an entry for any reason.

  • I agree that Hulk got screwed, but it has nothing to do with our entry being allowed) . I wasn't trashing your name, I was providing a means to prove your WC entry on youtube, and it wont appear under FIRESTAR, obviously. Speaking of trashing, You're implying that because we were allowed to perform that we were cheating in some way, and that is an attack on us. Do you think its really a good idea to make enemies in the backstage by attacking your fellow performers, and of all people, the emcee?

  • It's a free country and people can say whatever they want as long as they say it in an intelligent and non-hateful manner. As I said before, I didn't bash your routine yet you bashed me. If anyone's "NOT COOL" it's you.

  • You didnt bash its content but like I said, you said we shouldn't have been allowed and implied that somehow we were cheating, without trying to get the facts. If you're going to do that then be aware that others are going to be asking who you are and what right have you to say those things. If you launch attacks at others, you will have to be prepared to take them incoming as well. I'd rather just get along but, to put it bluntly, you started this.

  • They ran EXTREMELY late this year, it didn't even start till 9:30 & that dork Folio dragged it out far longer than necessary. They need to get rid of him, I don't know any contestant that likes him. I've been in Masquerades w/almost 60 entries that didn't go this long!

Whether you want to admit or not, A LOT of good costumes were overlooked. For the Hulk to get Hon. Mention rather than the actual prize is a travesty to costumers everywhere.

I'm quite curious as to what your WC10 skit will be.

  • It ran late due to the company paid trailers and crappy fan films they played at halftime. We were lined up for awards while that stuff was STILL GOING. The emcee usually just said entry number, then allowing the audience to say the actual number. I personally don't like that but I've been in events where the emcee actually heckled the actual entries directly so SDCC isnt bad at all in comparison. Hulk should have gotten an better award or best of show, yes. Judging has its own set of problems.

  • Excuse me but, I partially think you're just jealous because you could never pull off a skit like that. Those people are amazing and i'm sure you have no idea what it's like to be up on the stage. So until you actually know a thing or two, I would keep your mouth shut.

  • Actually, she is a masquerade participant and knows what its like to be on stage, I looked up her "FIRESTORM" act here on youtube and can understand completely why she would rather spread ill will on our performance rather than focus on entertaining the audience. I look forward to seeing her backstage again at Wondercon 2010. :)

  • Xztophe, my reply wasn't directed at you - it was to naomicellest. I'm not trying to get into a flaming war with you but I will defend myself when insulted. Again, the reply about being in numerous masquerades isn't about you, I just wanted to be clear on that point.

  • Understood, thanks.

  • I've been in more Masquerades than you'll ever be in so I can say whatever the hell I want. So you why don't you keep your mouth shut, you little poser.

  • CLARIFICATION: Zxtophe & I have talked about this & he explained why the skit was allowed to be performed at SDCC09 after winning Best of Show at WC09. It was a misunderstanding on my part & I did not intend to insult the integrity of the group & their skit. Things are cool between Zxtophe & myself so it's all good. Thank you.

  • I'm glad to hear that. There's far too much bickering in fandom as a whole before you even get to the subset of costuming, so it's always good to see people coming to an understanding with each other.

  • Oops, I misspelled Xztophe's name. Sorry I transposed the letters!

Again, I misspoke earlier - things are clear now.

  • Yes, thank you for the clarification and communications. Looking forward to WC10 ^--^

  • How about you all share a round of Energon together at the next con? :)

  • Round of Energon sounds great! But how's about some Energon O's too? Wheeljack sure gave one hell of a convincing sales pitch! :) -Dan BTW

  • Yay! Chris is so awesome! xD The twins and Nikki are amazing too =D

  • This is great :DDDD I love you guys ^-^ <3

  • lol i remmeber this one i loved it hehe! im just sad i had to leave before awards. but my Animated Jazz costume had realy made me become exhausted by the end of the day. anyone know who won and stuff?

  • Very Funny! Did they win anything?

  • They won a company award.

  • good stuff, I like the additions they made for the SDCC show! :)

  • Me too!

  • Why do they say AH AH AH?

  • is a masquerade tradition

the crowd yells the number of the performance and says HA HA HA after.. funny things

  • That MC needs to go! None of us contestants like him, he's so corny! He dragged out the Masquerade so long this year, we were there till 1am!

  • Leave Phil alone! He may not have the best witty humor, but him letting us say the numbers and taking the time to be the master of ceremonies is what makes the Masquerade fun.

  • It's a Con tradition.

  • my guess is that they are imitating The Count from Sesame Street

  • LMAO. That was deffinately great.

    Go Chris & Crew~!

  • Ha ha ha! Dude! You guys are just as awesome as always!!! WISH I WAS THERE! T_T
