  • I went to Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown. I met some people from the North. They were appalled I went to a high school named after Robert E. Lee.

  • Its so sad,as an SEC i love hearing From Dixie with Love, its ashame they are getting rid of such an unpredjucided song. It seems like all of Mississippi's traditions these days are no more

  • It is so sad that Ole Miss has a Dean who is embarassed by Mississippi. Ole Miss is the most unique college in the US. It's refusal to be PC is what makes it so grand. I am proud my daughter goes to Ole Miss. We owe the people of Mississippi a debt of gratitude. Jones besmirches the honor of Ole Miss. I wish the Alums would put enough pressure on Jones to get him to back off his boycott of FDWL and Col. Reb. If the rest of the county is offended by them, the hell with them. Stay out of Miss.

  • @51rhm um whats PC?

  • @bulldogforever147 It stands for politically correct and thats what Jones is.

  • @51rhm hoe come no one does anything about it

  • the glorious rebel yell will never die/ the Mississippi Greys lost all of our soldiers at Gettysburg defending states rights; I will NEVER dishonor them; who's with me

    Paul McClaren of Mississippi 901.355.1770

  • My son, 6'11", ball player, was set to go to Ole Miss until this happened,. He gave up on sports totaly and is now at the Ivy League school where his mom teaches. Still plays rugby but he wanted to play Ole Miss FootBall. My 15 year old has opted for USC at this point. When tradition is determined by the young, it is not tradition, it is political correctness in the worst way. It will be sad that I will never ever again see Dixie at Ole Miss. I'm Jewish, Dixie never threatened me.

  • so, i wuz born in Arkansas, and raised in TX. so i guess I have been raised southern all my life. But im not for racism or anything

  • go rebs go let us keep Dixie is there no end to the injustice let us enjoy our culture our traditions and our way of life Deo Vindice!!

  • Every Ole Miss fan should wear a Confederate Uniform to games as a show of protest

  • That'd be awesome or chant the south will rise again after the national anthem

  • We need to boycott all athletic events. Stop any financial support to Ole Miss. Jones would last about a week. Dixie is part of Ole Miss. Stand up and demand the return of Dixie.

  • @brainerdrebel im a state fan and i definetly agree

  • @brainerdrebel As a member of the band I truly miss FDWL. It was always a helluva lot of fun to play.

Speaking on behave of only myself, I just want to say that I personally respected yalls' RIGHT to say the chant. That being said, I hated the fact that yall DID say it. Just because you can and you have the right to do something doesn't always mean that you should.

Whenever we would play it and yall would say the chant, in my mind it took away from the emotional impact that the song has.

  • I respect your opinion and you make a compelling point. The average person is so frustrated with the Federal Government, I think people are looking for something to hold on to. FDWL is about our culture, our region, our heritage, our history, it is ours. To force someone's opinion on others like Jones did is tyranny.

"These are the times that try men's souls:"

  • gonna miss from dixie with love, jones can go kill himself for all i care anymore

  • Be the best thing that ever happened to ole miss well maybe second to the firing of oregeron lol naw this would be the best thing
