  • hi! how do i get ris of the pen line after i choose stroke path then brush... i still have the penline after i do that... i cannot seem to get the same result as yours seeing the brush line only... thanks

  • @freakgotfat only way i know is to right click and delete path. but im sure there are hot keys for it.

  • @dahatta01 I'm not sure if I'm right but you select your pen tool and then press "U"

  • I love the video, loved your way..always a favorite!

I have one small complain though; why don't you explain why do you do each step, as in why do you do this or that.. because sometimes, we see that difference, but really cannot clearly see what happened!! -,-

    Thank you very much,

  • love it!! but 1 question: is there a way to make animated fireworks in photoshop?

  • I am having a problem saving the brush. When I create the brush it will not allow me to save it as a preset brush but as a custom shape, What am I doing wrong. When I go to edit, save preset brush is gray and it will not allow me to use it and I am doing everything you're doing.

  • You too man, great tips!

  • Im not watching before New Years but im gonna thumbs up anyway!

  • this is gr8. thank u...thank u ....thank u

  • I love your longer videos

  • what is wrong when i choose to strooke path, the paths only strokes little bit so i have to do stroke paths like 10-20 times intill it got the full colouer. please help!

  • What if i dont have that texture in my presets?

  • @boss3453 its in presets 2 i think or 1

  • take it a litle bit slower, just think about that people can have it in the background and do like u do :) otherwise great job! happy new year

  • How do I make Photoshop one window again in OSX like it is in Windows? Just made the full switch to OSX and I LOVE it, but it'ds very annoying having all of your projects in different windows lol

  • As usual, entertaining ,, Thanks

  • Which shortcut do you use to change the size of the brush while painting?

  • @Mikkelsapiens He's probably using the square bracket keys:

    [ makes brush smaller

    ] makes brush larger

  • "I don't know my brain hurts" 0:09

  • I don't have the rust texture, how come ? Can't find anything on google. All I have is two textures, and I have never had any more than that. They came with photoshop

  • @Smennyboy Silly me, of course I have all the textures. Didn't think to look after it in the other texture groups. Thanks for the awesome tutorial !

  • that looks so amazing... :) fav'd

  • Oh my god!How can you possibly have learned all this stuff SOOO well that you know the effects of every single measurement in layer effects and stuff beforehand? You make it seem like a piece of cake and I'll need a lifetime to do what you did in a few minutes! You are unbelievable!

  • Amazing!

  • you are a photoshop beast! :)

  • hey everyone...

  • awesome!

  • fawkeen awesome man! :D

  • I wonder whether Photoshop people no all this!?! Nonetheless, they've created a wonderful software. :)

  • You are awesome man !!! Thanks ! ^_^

Merry Christmas and Happy NEW YEAR ! ^_^

  • Wauw, like it! :D

    Thank you!

  • nice, could you also make a not abstract firework tut?

  • very nice

  • wait i dont have the rusted metal effect thingy, what do i do then??

  • how'd you move the dots? :O

  • this looks amazing, one comment i should point out is that the "explosion" on the right side doesn't seem quite as good as the left side, because the fireworks seem to be going up instead of descending as the flyout :)

maybe doing some sort of mirror effect could solve it

  • You make photoshop so much easier! Without you, I'd be so lost!

  • @IceflowStudios Great job!

  • Good job. Looks pretty good!

  • OMG fantastic!!!!!!!! thank you!!!!

  • Great stuff man. I follow you on Twitter so I know how hard you worked on this, really impressive. I can only hope to have knowledge of Photoshop that reaches this one day.

  • I get as far as the stroke path to create the firework, I right click and choose stroke path then make sure brush is set but when I release the mouse button nothing happens..........HELP !!!

  • @funkateer56 Me, too. At least now I don't feel so stupid.

  • v can use cs3 or cs4 right?

  • you're a genius. i'm amazed

  • Great tut! Can't wait to use it!

  • wait how did you move the ellipse work paths while drawing them out? hope that made sense xD its at 4:28

  • @MrShadyGaming1 Hold the Spacebar while dragging.

  • Thank You :) ! Excellent tut, and Happy Holidays!

  • Thanks! Your tutorials are very useful - watch every video with joy!

  • It's cs5

  • I found that duplicating the background image and using the "sponge" tool on the areas you think the light from the firework will reflect off really helps. Also, of corse use a layer mask and brush out all the areas you think wouldn't be affected. Set the blend mode to screen, and I think it looks quite good.

  • is it ccs3 or cs4?

  • @hk95501 CS5.

  • @IceflowStudios Or are you using CS5 Extended?

  • @tedirelan Yep, CS5 Extended.

  • Thank you for speaking so clear, these are i feel the best tuts on you-tube. Have a happy and safe new year!!

  • good job :D

  • What kind of shortcut do you use to decrease the opacity of a layer ?

  • @1z1337 @1z1337 Number keys. 9 = 90 percent, 4 = 40 percent, 2 = 20 percent, etc.

  • @IceflowStudios What if I want 23%? :P

  • @1z1337 And 0 for 100%

  • @1z1337 can't you just click on the side and type the numbers in?

  • Hey bud! Can you create a tutorial on how to create a galaxy? That's would be a great tutorial...

  • Amazing video dude. You overdid yourself as usual :D

  • doesn't look like fireworks !

  • @liquidus2172 He did say that they are not realistic. They are abstract firework and the final product is exactly that.

  • @liquidus2172 one word: ABSTRACT!

  • @BrieSuz18 i've been already corrected by "azsportza" so chill out asshole!

  • I missed your voice ♥ _ ♥ Mmmmmm Great tutorial, I loved it ..

One question and I hope i'm not Intrusion, but how much do you get payed for the ads in the video ?

  • 2036 my name is john titor

  • I don't have Adobe Photoshop, but I love watching your videos, and following along. sometimes it provides a few ideas as to what might also work in video (also don't have CS5). one of these days I hope to be able to afford both, so I can update my video intro, and take my channel to the next level. until then I learn what I can, and always try to improve my videos (nearly 500 of them) you really can teach an old dog new tricks. Thank you very much and have a very Happy New Years!

  • very nice video. definitely gonna try this out and post it on your facebook :D

  • Hopefully I'll still be alive in 2056...<_<

  • They don't look like Fire Works to me.

  • @TheDarknessArrives They're abstract fireworks. They're not meant to look 100% like fireworks. If you want 'real' fireworks, grab an image from Google, set the Blend Mode to Lighten. Done.

  • @TheDarknessArrives I think they do!

  • thumbs up if ur gonna save this video and watch it in 2056

  • i dont even use photoshop but i still watch these tuts :]

  • @xBAKERxHD Good job on being a worthy subscriber! I use Photoshop, but I don't use these tutorials. Sometimes, I use some of the tricks from them though :)

  • Nice one!! :)

  • I cant find that rusted texture thing:/

  • @travisimoto Click on the arrow at the top right of the Texture Picker, select Patterns.

  • @IceflowStudios oh, haha thanks!

  • This is a great tutorial before you adding the soft brush in the center and the smoke, etc it looked like a space explosion. Great tutorial and happy new year

  • Great Tutorial =)

  • great !

  • Could you help me with your previous tutorial?? I cannot make those lights look the same way as yours... :(

  • Hi iceflow,

I love your videos, very helpfull and friendly. But I need some help with dreamweaver. Do you do tutorials, or know anyone?

    Thanks!

  • @xTvdM Not currently. Nathaniel from TutVid.com has some great Dreamweaver tutorials.

  • @IceflowStudios Thanks! Will check it out! :-)

  • @xTvdM I would also recommend you to check with DreamWeaverTutorial at dreamweavertutorial.co.uk or here on youtube. He have helped me a lot.

  • Great job, might use this one day - dont have photoshop at the moment :)

  • Hey. absolutely great. you are the best ! Realy !

I love yout tuts since a long long time....

I learnd so much from you !

    THANK YOU !

    ps Happy New Year xD

  • What about creating realistic colors fireworks? I mean, yellowish trails, but red or bright green "dots" where the particles "exploded"? Any tips?

  • @Gaurescu I'd probably stick with a custom brush again. Definitely take advantage of the Scattering options.

  • @IceflowStudios Basically, repeating the process with a separate brush for different lighted "tips"?

How would you go about creating a gradient filled firework (bright at center, dark orange at the end, towards the tips)?

  • @Gaurescu You could either use a radial gradient, like in this video, or multiple layers. Each layer containing a different color. Fireworks are very tricky. I spent days trying to achieve a 'realistic' firework explosion. It just wasn't happening.

  • @IceflowStudios Thanks for all the answers, you've shed some light on my amateurism.. I'm gonna push my luck a bit, though, and ask you: to simulate the "spherical" placement of the tips of different color, would you use more paths towards the edges of the sphere, or is there a simpler way to do this?

  • @Gaurescu You could possibly just add a small 'sphere' to the end of the brush. Might work.

  • @IceflowStudios Thank you for all your work, i realize you've covered most of these questions in the tutorial, but i was looking for a less abstract, more realistic way to paint fireworks (besides, as always, i am thinking of ways to implement what i've just learned into future paintings, and how these methods will improve my drawing).

Have a great new year, with many more tutorials for the less-knowledgeable!!

    Sincerely,

    John

  • @Gaurescu You're welcome. Happy New Years!

  • Wow how could he know that i'm watching this in 2056?

  • @ASURMlN Noob, I'm watching it in 1956.

  • 00:00

  • thumbs up if you thought that he made it out of a street lamp

  • Hey IceFlow, please do the siri tutorial in video....

    Thanks :)

  • @R1ProductionHouse Due to potential copyright issues, I won't be uploading that video to YouTube.

  • @IceflowStudios I uploaded an spanish version of the tutorial about a month ago or so... Any ID coincidence reported on the video

  • @juandhmps I'm sure Apple will have it taken down very soon.

  • @IceflowStudios then please upload it on some other sites (like vimeo, mediafire or even iceflowstudios . com). your hard work is much appreciated.

    Thanks :)

  • Nice job again. I can't wait to see more. Your tutorials are always really helpful :)

  • You always made it perfectly :D

  • It's Beautiful
