Bobby Moore was not only a majestic defender and a world cup winning captain of his country, he was also the complete gent. As a Scotland fan i only wish he played for us. Bravo Bobby.

An absoloute disgrace that this country couldn't have done more for Bobby Moore. If he had recently retired as a modern day professional player, he would have had BBC, ITV, SKY and Setanta biting him off for him to work as a pundit. Where as when he did retire, there were no real offers. The FA could have found him a role, considering he is the only captain to lift the world cup. Obviously should be knighted.

I cannot understand that if one is player is given an award for presumably winning a wc why it does not apply to all the players in the team.

I cannot understand why Bob says that Best was the best for the period when Pele and Cruyff were in their twilight years because Best is actually 11 months older than Cruyff.

i thin kthe reason is as i never saw him and i am used to seeing pictures of him playing and holding the cup up in 66.he looks diffrent as he is older but if you look you can see it is him.

the reason you probably didn't recognize Bobby Moore is the sad fact that he was battling bowel cancer at the time.

he died in '93 hugely unappreciated in my view.

Best sitting opposite him was at the height of his alcohol abuse died 13 years later.

Best was the most naturally girfted footballer arguably that the world has ever seen. He achieved half of his potential and is still regarded in the top 5-6 of all-time.
