  • You are born wit it ! the dr told me wen i was 7 now im 14 as normal as ever still have them ! but i wont let it affect my life! i have a wonderful bf and they manly show if you get aggravated so try to blow everything off

  • i have tourettes lol i dont see anything wrong with it

  • I'm a mom and think you are an awesome role model yourselt!

  • I saw your other videos playing drums and guitar and singing, wow, you are awesome. I've read people with Tourettes are smart and pretty normal, you just proved it. Some people confuse Copralalia, the swearing problem, with Tourettes thanks to that Tourettes guy/comedian (alcoholic) that pretended to have it then faked his death. YouTube should deleted those other ignorant videos, because they are lies. I don't think there are medications that work, they slow you down... then you can't drum.

  • I don't have it but thanks for making this video i watched a video, about this guy who had it and he ended up being a teacher it is called Front of The Class, anyways how do u have tourettes because u were not making any sounds or anything, not to be mean or anything, just asking how did they find out u had it?

  • she definatley doesnt have tourettes but shes nice=]

  • i have tourette's actually. :) thanks for the comment!

  • Very smart, good video, girl. More power. :)

  • I don't have tourettes, but you succeed to make me feel calm with your positive energy

  • You are sooo... sweet and an awesome face for Tourettes Syndrome. : D I wish there was this much support when I was a kid (I just turned 20 D : and I feel so old, arg.) But the good thing about being 20 is you get taken a lot more seriously and career wise there is a lot more opportunity for you. As for me I'm a filmmaker, and a student.

  • Its nice to see that God created angels like you. My 9 year old son has Tourretes. He's had it for the past two years. I've been searching the net and youtube recently for info on Tourretes. Its disheartening to see so many people on youtube in the dark laughing at it, but videos such as yours make up for it a thousand fold. You're doing a great service to people like my son by showing them that they are not alone. I wish you the very best and appreciate your kind efforts.

  • cool video

  • I love your skin!

    i wish i was that pretty as u :P

i dont have any syndromes or turrets.....but i do have ADHD and i know wat it is like to have to tell friends and to suddenly take these new pills and adapt to a new lifestyle.

But then I remember we are all in the same boat so we should help each other out.

which i can see your doing so.........

Godless and thank you for uploading this!

  • i have torretes as well as odc i like to touch wet things

    but this vid was cool

  • You are beautiful :O)

  • You're cool

  • Your very cute, and i can see you handle it well, anyway i wish you luck and hope that you grow out of it (i used to have it, but with clonidine and time it just went away, seemed to stop right after i graduated highschool)

  • coughing ..clearing throat u must be the luckiest person wit tourettes if u have em

  • I think you are an amazing human being.

I know you don't know me, but I'm so proud of you.

  • I think you're an amazing human being.

I know you don't know me, but I'm proud of you.

  • my girlfriend keira had it and surprisingly you looked similar to her..

  • Hi girlfriend... You handle it very well. I have a niece (24 years old) who has Tourette's as well as OCD and ADHD. Believe me, your TS is NOT noticeable. Also, you seem like you may not have a problem making friends. Keep your head up high! Take care.

  • Watching two videos, clarified more on the TS issue, btw you're very cute haha ;)

  • ayy

i have it and iam happy 2

  • I have tourettes, as well as OCD and ADHD.

I was very young when i was diagnosed. i am now 18. i had a very difficult life growing up and at times i wanted to commit suicide. i got made fun of by kids at school. every day was an uphill battle. i was on all sorts of pills, which had horrible side effects so i stopped taking them. last time i took any pills i was on 3 differnt kinds. i still have symptoms, but i found a better way to control them, which i won't say on YOU TUBE.

  • Stop all caffeine fo 3 weeks. Mine is 95% better. Barely noticable.

  • how old are you??..you're really beautiful!!..I don't actually have tourettes, but I respect what you are doing just because it's a nice thing you're doing for kids

  • Very cool video.. Although I don't have tourettes it was very sweet of you to make this.

  • YOu have amazing facial articulation. You should be an actrice.

  • dude...you spelled actress wrong but at least you spelled articulation right

  • Irony...

  • u dont get touretts ur BORN iwth it

  • What happens is ur born with touretts, but it may not show any signs until later in ur life. Like sometimes ur diagnosed when ur 13, or sometimes 7

  • no.. my friend got it when he was 6, then got over it when he was about 13.

  • ye supposibly u grow out of it (i have it)

  • dude you can get diagnosed with it later in life...its not that you ALWAYS have twitched but its just always been there and it can show up later

  • you should see if your area has a tourettes syndrome group, i know they them all across america, there is an national meeting in america for the national tourettes syndrome association every 2 years, the last one was a few days ago but they're meeting again in two years, anyone with tourettes should look into it, it's really relieving to be able to tic around other people and still feel normal. anybody watching this with touretes should look into going to the next conference in 2010

  • u go girl! ur an inspiration

  • I can hardly hear it - the sound is so quiet!

Nice to see some real Tourette videos on here anyway! :)

  • o-k yea lol

  • omg you say "yeah" a lot....haha

  • Yeah...and "like". They're my favorite! :)

    jamie-grace

  • haha ur ok

  • why you are'nt swaering around?

  • That isn't what Tourette Syndrome is. That's called Coprolalia.

  • @braulio232: Involuntary swearing, known as coprolalia, affects only about 3-5% of people with Tourette syndrome. Most Tourettic vocal tics are simple noises such as grunts and squeaks.

  • Mine is coughing and clearing my throat. :)

  • i have tourette, but i learned to hold my swearing back (had to, 'cause i'm learning for a secretary job) the only thing i can't hide from people are my tics, most people don't even know i have tourette, only people who have known me for a long time know about the whole tourette thing, 'cause they have seen me evolve. when i tell someone who doesn't know about it, they mostly ask why i don't swear all the time. damn you mediaworld :/

  • I only recently got diagnosed. I must admit I crack it and swear a lot when I'm home alone - I tend to try to minimise it when I'm with company. Though I may still let out the occasional bad word in Uni classes :P

  • I must say Jamie Grace, that I just love to watch your videos cuz I can relate in some way to all of em.. I have As and some traits hyperactivity and at times I got tics as well.. For some years I was really discouraged to tell my friends about it cus then they would consider me as a freak, but I am proud bein myself, you know what I´m sayin. So don´t try to hide from yourself, be proud!! Once again a big THANK YOU! Keep it up girl! =)

  • i dont have tourettes, but i can walk a mile in their shoes. i have. i have OCD and some traits of ADHD. i had a bad habit of pulling my hair and it got to an extreme point, so i took medication. teachers said i wasnt paying attention so i took another medication. so i have 2 take 3 different ones daily. it sux, but its not so hard to swallow a pill. i used 2 b uncomfortable with telling people, but when i told my 3 best friends i felt more relaxed because i thought "hey. im not the only 1!"

  • i know how you feel i have tourettes as well with i have to costantly shrugg my shoulder and quench my fist just like you do ive had it sense i was 12 now i am 19

  • that was really touching

  • My ex husband has tourette ssyndrome, it didn't bother me I loved him, no matter how bad it got at times....I still love him :(

  • what is up whit tourette syndrome??

i thought ppl with that syndrome they spread out curse words and odd moves :P

  • Try watching my other videos.

  • You don't act as like you do ahve turrettes you don't blink or curse or anything..

  • Exactly! Our media tells us that to have Tourette you have to swear. But it doesn't work like that. I also am able to hold my tics back, or disguise them. I've had some of the same tics for 5 years, it's kind of comes naturally to hide them. Check out my other videos :]

  • I'm 38. I was diagnosed when I was 10 in 1980. I live a fairly normal life, many around me don't even know I have it until I tell them. I'm married and have a 21 month old son. We are told there is a 50-50 chance he will develop symptoms one day. From both of us: Thank you!!! Thank you for your courage and caring nature. I only wish something like this was out there for me when I was your age!

  • i blink a lot...do i have tourettes? maybe i blink a lot because my eye got cut by glass when i was little?

  • Some people just have tics but it's not TS. But I can't truly determine if it is TS or what not. You would need to speak with your doctor.

  • My ex girlfriend had tourettes syndrom. It was tough at times but for the most part because she didn't accept it. It's strange how it worked for her though, when we were alone with no stress she wouldn't get one tic. Though with school and everything she would get loads. I still think about her sometimes and how shes dealing with it... Anyways thats my problems I guess...

  • i have TS as well and it never stops. Sometimes i can control myself but whenever i am under pressure it comes back strongly. Great initiative this website. Its hard to tell people the truth cus they think i am a retard.

  • you look cute with the hat

  • great video. good on you.

many people with autism also have Tourette's tics (I'm in that group).

it's good to see people who just have Tourette's

so those with both can tell one from the other

because a lot of the time, if you have both

they see the tics and just say 'that's part of the autism' or 'that's self stimultatory behaviours' (stims') and its neither.

    ... Donna *)

  • I jam my head to the side some times but its not serious. do i have turrets? it feels like a sensation in neck back area and i will jam my head to the side and its hard to control its not serious so i dont think i have to see a doctor and no one else has noticed it.

  • I was diagnosed with Tourettes when I was 5. It wasn't that noticeable for awhile, but now that I'm 19 it's getting worse. I've been taking lamictal to try and medicate it but it doesn't do much.

  • HAHA nice XD im glad someone posted something like this. see im proud of my ticks. i could'nt imagine me without it.

  • Thanks, you are making a big difference in people's life. It has been diagnosed yet, but I can only pray for not. We'll wait....once again. Thanks! You'll be fine!!! :))

  • Great smile! : )

  • wow..your my idol.

i have had tourettes for 6 years.

im 13 and i was diagnosed with tourettes when i was 7 years old when i was twitching so bad i couldnt even put a barbie shoe on. so basically i have had it all my life.

6 years down and im growing them out.

and yes it is possible. my tourettes are going away once i get older (:

  • i found out i had it in 2nd grade and i dont know anyone who has it still. i admire you making this video to educate others about the syndrome =') it means a lot to me

  • be strong bby ;]

  • I can't really hear you

  • turn your speakers up

  • you didn't even do anything funny

    ...

    wtf

  • dude, its a video about a mental disability and dealing with it. why did you think he was going to do somthing funny?

  • loopydoug: i'm a she; =]

  • i didnt watch the video, i was just surfing youtube. sorry. im kinda addicted to online conversations. ill admit it.... im an internet junkie.

  • haha i understand. =]

  • Correction Its not mental it is neurological.

  • i have TS and i think that you are a really cool person. i have been diagnosed with TS since Feburary 2006 and i have had it for about 2 years now. i know exactly what you are talking about.

  • me too

  • Hey...I am a thriteen year old girl, and I have just been diagnosed with tourette syndrome! Yay me...just joking. I cried when I saw this, because cI didn't think that there was any one out there that felt my pain. Thank you for having the courage to stick up for people like you and me...you are a real inspiration to everyone, with or with out tourettes. I wish I could meet you, because we would have lots to talk about, and twitch about! haha...

luv ya, and whut you are doing!

    keep smiling

  • hey watsup i dont have TS but cool

  • i just wanted to say that you are by far the sweetest girl iºve ever seen in my entire life....keep smilinº you litte angel :)

  • Did you know that you are really really cute... Just had to say that. I dont have Tourette syndrone but i do have a new understanding of it after using google. I like what you are doing and i just want to wish you the best of luck.

  • i just wanted to say that you are awesome in everyway that's possible! i dont have tourettes and i dont know anybody that has it but because of your videos know i know much more about tourettes and peoples that have it.. and you are very beautiful! thank you! keep up the good work.

  • Young lady, you have class.

  • I don't have tourettes, just ADD, but I think what you are doing is a really good thing to make people better understand tourettes and what its all about, even people with disabilities have an important roll in life, its nice of you to give people advice and make them feel better about them selfs, and yes you should always tell someone you have an uncontrollable problem, I think its better if you can help them understand so they don't think your weird or funny, I know more about it to, thanks!

  • I just relised i had tourettes 2 days ago. I dont have it badly but i still have them... Anyway thankyou for having people understand how tourettes are

  • I agree with you on the Good and bad days!

  • i just stumbled on this vid and u are a very cool girl!!!!!!!!!

  • I LUV U u spoke what i wanted to say for so long if only other ppl know what we go thruw the world would be a better place

thnx for the video makes me feel im not the only one

  • Tourette's syndrome doesn't happen to any other mammals, but only humans who change their environment with electric lighting and eat grains that are not meant to be food for them, you should look into the ketogenic diet which cures epilepsy, this syndrome is far from being incurable, just another disease of civilization

  • There is no cure for tourettes and your comment shows just how uneducated you are about it. Tourette's has been around long before the general use of electric lighting, as has epilepsy.

  • Yay, that's right. Cesar suffered from epilepsy.

  • Kali Angel really needs some positive support. Here is a video we made when she had a visit to the Hospital for a breathing test. This 9 year old girl with Tourette Syndrome is working hard to be successful in school and in her career. He dream is to be a famous singer songwriter and she is in vocal music lessons but she needs to raise the funds to continue.

    Brightest Blessings

  • I was watching youtube, and one channel led to another and I was watching "The Tourettes Guy". I thought it was slightly funny, then I wound up at yours and I felt bad about it. For that, thank you. I needed a good slap in the face.

How do you feel about the other tourretes videos on youtube?

  • Hey! Thanks for your comment. =]

I'm not a big fan of the videos making a mockery of TS and Coprolalia, you can watch my video called "Why pick on Tourette Syndrome?" to really see how I feel on the topic.

  • great vid...I have tourette's..and my life is becoming horrible..i don't know, i just hate it, and hate my 'bad days' when I have too much tics...I'm 18...

    Take Care

    =)

  • ahh don't worry we all have our bad days. theres ALWAYS a better day ahead!

  • it looks like you don't have tourettes at all

  • i usually "get my tics out" before i make a video or i suppress them.

  • I was diagnosed with tourettes when I was in 3rd grade. I've been homeschooled since 8th.

    o.o;

    *checks out site*

  • you are an inspiration. i take my hat off to you. fantastic

  • I don't have Turrets, but I do have Aspergers with Echolalia (and some whole body convolutions). So I do know a little bit about how you feel and most of high school is fine. Most kids are nice, yes they're are bullies that will make fun of you but there's another kid at our school with turrets and were both fine and not made fun of about it.

  • Nowhere near as funny as johns not mad

    he is a legend

  • This video was not intended to be funny. It's intention was to encourage young people who could possibly be laughed at because of their TS. Just like some people laugh at "John".

  • Very inspirational, your video has already touched so many peoples lives. I have no doubt you will continue to do so through every action you take. You are a true hero, you deserve all the respect in the world.

  • lol hold your head up.. because if you dont you'll walk into a wall

  • Pendulum4444: hehe yeah not to sound conceited but i think that's my favorite line from this video, lol.

  • Hi, how u doin? I have to admit I personally find Tourettes hilarious (not in a sick way, but people shouting obscenities in the supermarket with old people about is classic, I would do it to get a giggle)- it must be a nightmare for those who have it, but u have to laugh or else u'll cry :) U seem like a really nice girl, dont be nervous on the camera - no need to be!

U seem verrrrrrry mature for your age, really pretty, talk very smartly. Good luck with ur life!

  • hey there, juz wanna say to all those peepz out there wi tourettes,u aint on ur own coz i woz born wi tourettes and doctor only made da diagnose wen i woz 22yrs old, took their times tho lol.i am now 28yrs old da only time my tourettes never come out is wen im busy concertrating on riding my horse coz my mind is focused on one thing.but stay strong ya'll,tourettes is not easy 2 live with.

  • i don't have it but,

    you're awesome! ~

    keep it goin'...

  • i dont have tourettes, my friend does and struggles so much with it. as you say she needs someone to talk to and the person she talks to is me. i understand everyword you're saying.

    good vid, keep it up

  • i have tourettes :) great video! i saw your article in the "that darn tic" newsletter :)

  • Hey great vid, Tourettes is becoming more common and it's great teenagers are sharing thier experiences. Since I was about 8 I've had problems with twitching my head and tightening my neck uncontrollably, making low throaty sounds, twitching my eyes, and repeating obscene words in my mind. I have always been a decent person and very polite but I've had these issues and I have a reason to believe I at least have a mild case of tourettes, but I am going to see a psychiatrist before I assume such.

  • I have it, and this is great. I've had it for soo many years.

  • I do not have tourettes but I deeply appreciate your work and generosity.

  • i just beeeen diagnosed with tourette syndrome and im reely sceard thanx for making this video ur so cool and kind i love u xxx from sean

  • Thanks to EVERYONE for your amazing comments!

  • One advantage of it is it has a unique ability to tell who your real friends are. Fake friends will mock you, real friends will stand by you. Keep it real folks!

  • I have a ton of respect you, girl . Keep up the great work !

My hat's off to you .

  • hey! great video 5 stars, thankyou for showing that people like us with tourette syndrome aren't freaks

  • good work.

  • Touretters represent! =P Yeah, it's a mixed blessing, but it's cool.

    Echolalia! Echolalia! Echolalia! Echolalia! Echolalia...

  • What I don't understand with TS is, how Coprolalia works. It's just words. Is it the common meaning of it being untolerated or bad? I don't have it, but still find it interesting. By the way, I signed up for the petition, which I advise other to do. Great life to you all.

  • About 10% of the people with Tourette Syndrome have Coprolalia which is involuntary swearing. Our media, unfortunately, has "taken" Coprolalia and turned it into some sort of laughing stock.

Thank you for signing the petition, I appreciate your, and every one else's, support! =]

  • geez how mature r u....hey awesome vid n keep holding ur head up hun

  • shes pretty cute

  • nice vid,

  • Thank you so much I have tourettes to and I hate those people who make fun of us with those videos, please respond to this.

  • Yeah I understand it gets pretty tough trying to move on, but we hafta. We all have to keep our heads up and not let it get us down. =]

  • nice cur nice for making this vid

  • hey..i dont have tourettes..but i wanna say ur awesome 4 making dis video...ur akool chik....a very nice person it was great of u 2 make it 4 ppl dat recently were diagnosed...

  • i was diagnosed with ts about a year ago and the day i was diagnosed i cried all day and all night. i thought that people were gonna make fun of me but actually when they found out they thought it was pretty cool. one girl was even like omg im so jealous of you but once everybody found out i was glad that they i told them. thanks for makin the video and your a cool girl!!

  • I have touretts and every 1 thinks i'm just making up an excuse to be annouing so people out there stop being like that you dont know what it is like. ps. srry about my name!!!

  • Very nice sentiments...Good things I remember thinking when I was very young and just began going through it

  • Thanks!!!

  • you're really cool. and i like your hat.

  • pretty cool vid

  • awesome video

  • your a cutie^_^

  • hi thanks for makeing this movie i suffer myself from tourettes and i think it is really good so hopefully people might start to realise what tourettes is and how hard it can be for us. And to make them stop and think twice about taking the mick out of people like me who suffer from tourettes syndrome thanks again.

  • Thanks everyone for your comments, I read all of them! =]

  • i think this video is really cool. i'm pretty sure i have tourettes. i have these ticks and i sometimes just blurt out stuff or do stuff, but i can usually controll those. but yea, you're a cool kid for making this video. thanks!!

  • ur pretty neat

  • As amusing as I might find the tics to be (I admit with a touch of guilt), what impresses me more is how the tourette's gene seems somehow to be tightly bound up with the intelligence gene and the good human being gene. Keep your positive -- yet realistic -- attitude and you'll go far... and if you can help others along the way, all the better for your karma. Good day!

  • Cool kid...hope she overcomes the situation.

  • wow... seriously inspirational, keep fighting and you make a good point dont hide it. youre seriously inspirational good job

  • You're too quiet.

  • This is great. I just did a video on Tourettes. We said so many of the same things.

  • Nice vid. I came online searching tourettes cuz i think the TourettesGuy videos are funny. I don't think the disorder or even the problems are funny, just some reactions are amusing. I hope that's not offensive. I am happy to see people trying to support others with similar disorders, especially how to approach it when you discover it. props

  • You don't have to have tourettes to have tics. I have (very mild) tics myself. They DEFINITELY don't mean you have a low intelligence. I have an IQ of 112. I can't IMAGINE what real tourettes sufferes are going through. Keep on truckin'.

  • im 18 and i have tourettes

  • your well cool lol x

  • My sister has ticks. SHes had it since she was 4 (?) or something.

  • It's spelled "tic." Tick is a type of bug and tic is an involuntary brief muscle thingy. (Can't explain well)

  • I know ppl with this disorder, I just wanna say i am proud of you to even come forward and talk to ppl who have it .You mean alot to ppl i know, cuz now they work with it after seeing you talk on You tube. Keep making a differance sweetie. we love ya.

  • my older brother has it and my little sister has down syndrome

  • Im 12 and i have tourettes

  • Nice vid its just a shame to see people making fun of this disorder.. hopefully this vid will help! =)

  • dude!im 14 and all,but i think your awesome!i bet people love being around you,i just found out about this syndrome today, but hope you have a great life

  • your very inperational and pretty

  • This girl is pretty cool, i dont have tourettes but i have a friend who does n yea i think its a very nice thing ur doin and ur pretty hott! lol

  • You are a very good girl. Thank you for making us feel better about it.

I am 14 and I have tourettes. I've had them since 1st grade and they are just twitches in my arms and legs. Luckily mine are very mild- I've seen some videos with people who have to live with a WORSE case. One of my friends has "trained" his tourettes. He used to have a very bad head-bob, but now he scratches his head. So he "masks" it.

BTW, you are very pretty. =)

  • ur amazing. thank you for explaing to ppl about this. i have tourettes. thank you. :)

  • no problem! =]

  • can u drive

  • Well when a person with Tourette Syndrome is focusing on something (such as swimming or driving), their tics "die down", and aren't as bad. But if the person feels the pressure of tics coming and they're in the situation where they can stop what they are doing, then i am sure they would. But if aren't in that type of situation then they could always temporarily suppress tics to prevent danger.

  • ur a good person, teensWts

  • tks, =]

  • ok but what happends then when you swim or drive a car? I'd rather be stressed then dead or seriously injured.. :l

  • Well, on a lot of videos on YouTube with people that have tourette, they seem to be angered easily or shout out sware words or something. Is that really tourette? I'm sorry, it's just confusing me.

Also, I was wondering what some tics that you have are? And common tics people with tourette might have? Thanks!!

  • Well that's called Coprolalia and about 10% of people with Ts have it. Coprolalia is involuntary swearing. Our media, unfortunately, has taken Coprolalia and kind of made it comedy when it isn't funny at all.

I will soon post a video about common tics, but a very common one is eye blinking, (i have this one.)

  • Ok. Thanks! I wish the media wouldn't fool around about stuff like that, i dont find it funny.

  • me either. have you seent he video called "Let's Stop the Negative Portrayal of Tourette Syndrome?"

  • maybe supressing IS a good thing so you can get rid of the disease. or everytime when you get a tic you should punish yourself. for example: if you want to touch the ground you should hit yourself or destroy your favorite clothes etc. but you should not take medication because its just the same as drugging yourself for something you can get rid of naturally.
