@lexilexibish It's awesome that you're thinking about MTSU! I may be a little biased...but I highly recommend MTSU. And sure, i'll answer your questions! ^.^ Since you have so many i'll send the answers in a private message here on youtube because comments have a crappy word limit..bleh.
@MelanieToxicBrutal No, you don't have to have a roommate. ^.^ (I live in a private and I don't have a roommate). If you don't want a roommate there are two options: A single room or a private. Yes, you can request a roommate. That doesn't guarantee you will get that person, but there is a good chance. And you only have one roommate in the traditional residence halls. In the apartments you have up to four people living in one apartment.
Indeed, I will be. ^.^ Though, i'm not sure which hall yet. The housing office is being extremely slow in getting the assignment letters out this year...considering move-in is in 13 days...eeep.
U have to do a tour of ur new dorm room if its in a different hall!! I really want a private room but there is no virtual tours for it on the mtsu website! Other than rutledge hall!
I'm going to have a shared room again, but I will ask a friend mine who has a single room if I can video tour her room. I will make another dorm tour video regardless, though. ^.^.......Even though all the shared dorms are pretty much the same.
@newyorkinthahouse Hey. ^.^ You were asking about what a private room looks like...I ended up getting one this year. If you want to see what it looks like check out my newer dorm tour video.
My blankets, sheet, towels, mirror, little drawer cart thing, and desk lamp came from Bed Bath And Beyond. My fridge, food, and underbed storage came from Walmart. Everything else I brought from home. The room came with the bed, mattress, dresser, desk, chair, and closets.
Does an Out-Of-State freshman have to live in the dorms? Or can they live in an apartment. Cause theres a couple colleges here that make it mandatory to live on campus your first year.
Is there a lot of parties at MTSU? I try to stay away from the whole drugs, alcohol, and premarital sex scene. Is it easy to meet people of the opposite sex with the same interests as you? I am sure it is a yes to both, because how big the school is. lol
There's a lot of partying and illegal substance use and such...off campus. I mean, some do drink and such in their rooms, but it's VERY easy to avoid all of that. As far as premarital sex? I'm sure it happens...i'm not listening to people's walls and doors, so i'm not sure how frequently. Lol. Again...easy to avoid.
As far as meeting people? It's SOOOOOO easy! Most of the dorms are co-ed by hall or floor so it's easy to meet people in the common rooms. Also in your classes you'll meet people. The majority of my friends are guys that have the same general interests as me. Also, most of the dorms have these things called living learning communities which is halls and floors dedicated to students in specific majors. I'm in the diverse world/diverse arts one. They plan all kinds of fun activities and stuff.
Also, there's most of the time always something going on in the dorms where you can have fun and meet people. Last year we went on trips to TPAC to see operas, we had the condom olympics during safe sex awareness month, we had cookouts and bonfires, we had game nights, food nights, movie nights, we would make dinner for each other as a group, we had a toga party on study day, some people had a prank war with our RD. It was wonderful! ^.^
U ROCK! i say that because i am so in love with mtsu and i plan on going there but i have not got a chance to tour it so its nice to have someone making videos!
Yay!!! If you have any questions feel free to throw them my way. ^.^ Major? Oh, and i'll be trying to put a campus tour at some point...when I'm not being lazy. Hahaha.
Hey. i'm thinking about going to MTSU :) I have a few questions though, so if theres any you can answer, that would be amazing :D
1. i live in MA now, is it ALOT harder to go to college in a completely different state than where your home is? (i dont mind being away from home)
2. are there alot of parties?
3. is it easy to make friends?
4. is sharing a room with someone that bad?
5. which hall would you reccomend? (for a freshman)
thank you (: oh and i love your room! :D
