@jazandrob Eh? There's only one Simple Delay - you might be talking about the presets (which are fairly pointless, on the whole). It's just a 4/16 delay time on the left and 6/16 on the right (at 73 BPM). Feedback and Dry/Wet both at 40%. Any stereo digital delay VST will be able to get you exactly the same results.
Great song, but am I going crazy or is the higher melody (from the cutaway in the video) omitted from the tab over at the UCA? God knows why I'm asking, just curious haha.
If you're doing more videos, 'Early Days' would be awesome. I love the last section of it!
@Wildchild037 Haha, no worries man, you're not going crazy - this version's reasonably different to the tab, and indeed reasonably different to the album version, which also slightly differs from the tab. Just to make things clear as mud!
Man, I don't even know if I can play Early Days any more - it wasn't even anywhere near as tight as I would have liked for the album, haha. Still, maybe I'll teach it to myself again one day. Glad you enjoy the songs, anyway!
@superpumpernickel Well played sir. Im not trying to say that hes stealing material or anything. It just occured to me that this is performed very similarly to breathe in breathe out. It even kind of sounds the same. It also uses a delay effect.
This is just great, I love the way you use tapping together with delay, you kinda jam with the delay and since you are tapping you can also play harmonies! And you play clean as hell!
@bakedbean1232 Thanks very much man, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, blocking the trem's no hassle at all - all you need is a saw, a bit of wood, a ruler and some sandpaper. I'm sure there are a few tutorials kicking around, but it's more or less just common sense. In terms of side effects, obviously you can't do those crazy squeals or divebombs... No great loss if you ask me! Otherwise, I noticed a serious increase in sustain, and obviously you can tune, intonate, restring and set up the...
@Fredbaty ...guitar a hell of a lot more quickly and easily. I won't harp on about tonal differences, partly because I didn't notice any, and partly because I'm dubious as to the amount of self-deception involved in people's claims about that sort of thing. Oh, and the final, most important side-effect - I can't put the damn thing down!
@superpumpernickel Hahaha, well, the first single I ever bought was "2 Become 1", so there could be some latent influence! I assume chicksand3 was referring to the fact that I've said this was inspired by "Breathe In, Breathe Out", but even so I would have thought the influence is fairly obvious... Hopefully it's not a rip-off, but at least in terms of the fact that it's a song revolving around clean tapping with lots of delay. Anyway, if people enjoy it, I don't really care what it sounds like.
Nice! I've always liked this one. I made a Tumblr post about the Crepusculum albums recently actually, they deserve to be more popular, I know that a lot of people would be overjoyed to stumble upon some music like this, but sometimes they just need help with the stumbling part! ;D
@Onyxaxe Thanks very much indeed! I'm quite sure my method's not unique, but it works very well and I finally actually have a decent amount of sustain on this guitar...
i love your think in this song.
