  • An excellent idea, we should to make this happen!

  • This is actually a really nice idea, even if it doesn't cause a paradigm shift. There is also precedent. When I was in 9th grade (in the US) of the guys from my High School organized "Take a Swing at Cancer" where you paid to use a sledgehammer on an old SUV (and the money went to cancer research). But of course, the old indian firetrick (pouring gasoline over it) and a tribal dance is an ingenious addittion. I recommend you get a really good camera for that.

  • Awesome Idea....now all we have to to is pay for one of those things. BTW, just so we're clear, making a car is worse for the environment than driving it, so try not to use a !new! hummer. And don't buy a hybrid unless you !need! a new car. And yes, if we could make cars last longer...

  • Put Blackwater in charge of guarding the US Embassy in Serbia!

SAVE US HONOR ABROAD NOW MASSUH RICE!

  • How well I rememeber it--when the whole Yugolav Army, under the command of Saddam Hussein, made the amphibious attack on Manhattan.

The made their across the battery and gleefully poured slivovitz over the Twin Towers, then set them afire.

    NEVER FORGET!

  • THEY HATE OUR FREEDOMS!

  • @mopsius: Are you kidding me? Most countries have more freedom than the USA. You are an enemy combatant. You have been living under a fascist regime and don't even know it. That's what happens when you are addicted to television. They don't "hate our freedoms." They hate our lies and our hypocrisy. They hate the terrorist state that they see. They know more about us than we know about ourselves. We were the terrorists that attacked the twin towers and the Pentagon.

  • "WASHINGTON (Gearan AP February 22,2008) Serbia's government failed to protect U.S. and other Western embassies from nationalist mobs angry over the international embrace of the former Serb province of Kosovo as an independent state, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Friday...."

  • What an outrage! Surely the Serbs have a secret nuclear program and huge stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction! Who knows what stood unscathed and pristine in Tito's tunnels while the US and Nato destroyed the infrastructure and killed civilians from 30,000 feet?

  • @mopsius: We manufacture weapons of mass destruction. Aren't other countries allowed to do the same. After all, we invented all of those weapons.

  • you do kung fu?

  • In that basement, you're a Rock Star!

    Stay loud!!

  • you go, you sexy lil bear guy! grrrRrrr!

  • The ONLY SOLUTION to Americas hedonistic energy waste and over consumption is to TAX ENERGY in lieu of Federal INCOME TAX. Until the price of gas is $6 to $8 gallon, Americans will not significantly reduce their driving. Make mass transit FREE, SAFE, CLEAN, and CONVENIENT so that people can have alternative to driving.

  • Very nice

  • Copy from Japan...

  • And wow on the idea. It's a great one. I know a woman who has a Hummer. We're social and you're right, I am embarrassed for her.

  • Not for nothing, but some of my favorite parts of Davis' videos are the dancing, the beginning. It shows he's not some person here to lecture the rest of the community with his brilliance. He can be silly, he can be like the rest of us, and well, people love him for it.

  • That's a cool idea. I wish I could help but at the moment I'm furthering my education as a teacher so I'm basically broke right now. :/ Sorry.

  • you are my new hero <3

  • lol u have entirely 2 much time on your hands brother lmao rof good point bud nice job on this 1

  • Once again, Davis Fleetwood has proven beyong a doubt that white people can't dance. On the other hand, his characterization of the Hummer is right on the money. Funny though, 40 years ago when I was a college jock I knew a girl everyone referred to as "The Hummer". I just now figured out why.

  • yes burn hummers and arold too!!

  • Maggothon, I think we should all encircle Joe Blow and Davis during their luvfest, hand-in-hand like the Whos in Whoville, then proceed to join in the Hummer-hammering mayhem so meticulously described by Davis once they are in the throes of afterglow. It would be a wonderful example of 'terrible beauty', wouldn't it?

  • Sounds kind of tribal don't ya think. ummmmhmmmm, yes, I can see it now, it does have a terrible kind of beauty to it. Looks like it could happen, davis is leading the pack. See you there; with my hammer.

  • Brilliant! Fantastic Idea! Loved the hummer line:) You had a very naughty expression on your face;) very cute.

  • Nice job Davis - check out my video to Biden. There is actually a Hummer in it. Thanks in advance bro.

  • That is soo true, and I'd like to see a hummer in the demolishing. I'll start filming the electric bicycle soon.

  • Ahhhahhhhahhaahhh. It's "Hammer the Hummer!" Davis, I kid you not, I did that with my class last fall, we skipped the gasoline and fire part, but I had my students, who chose to see the movie "The Electric Car" (i think that was the name) write a report on it and those who did were entered into a contest to win a toy "hummer" (a big one) and then they could bang it hit it, paint it whatever. Great minds think alike. Hope you get one I want to be there when it goes down.

  • ""Your friends. They're embarrassed of you."" - Damn that's good. Wish I had thought of it. Won't get you the Hummer though, but he'll remember that saying for a long time to come. 5 stars AGAIN.

  • I like the idea! however the mainstream media would never cover it.

  • hahahaha that is some funny shit..I know some girls at a local bar that could get you a hummer...thanks for the late night laugh!!!!!

  • Yeah, my A/C is out and I'm delirious...my mind initially turned to the 'other hummer' as well...

Excellent and hilarious, Davis, as usual. I vomit when I see Hummers. I'm proud to say that I have no friends with them.

'Give Davis Fleetwood a Hummer.' I love it. As Joe is preparing to pleasure you, make sure you have some good background music going. My suggestion? 'Hummer' by the Smashing Pumpkins. Okay, a tad literal, but it's a pretty good song to hum to. Trust me on this.

  • meredumais: Whoops, THAT hummer? When I see a Hummer I accidentally flip them off. Someday, I will probably flip off the wrong guy/gal and get my a** kicked. In the meantime, I hope I'm there when Joe "pleasures" Davis and his hummer.

  • ya, good stuff david.

xavier, you hurt me with your ignorance....we have built a huge....civilization off of oil. Hydrogen is a problem in harvesting it, and since it is so explosive, in transporting it.

a comprehensive, multifaceted solution starting with conservation and ever-increasing efficiency is the only way...besides conservation, there is no one solution to oil in the near future

  • Actually seededsoul I believe there are many solutions that exist and have the potential to exist, but are not being allowed to exist or even receive the support of our government as our politicians palms are greased daily by the oil men who run this country. See the movie regarding the electric car that was put out, and then when it was successful, withdrawn.

  • Look, I am not just coming from a political viewpoint, but an environmental one as well. There is no single solution, a single substitute, in sight for oil...our infrastructure and way of life are built around it, so we will need many of the good ideas we have all heard of (and many more) to get past oil.

As for the electric car, it is indirectly fueled by coal, which we have a lot of....so we will probably end up using this, despite the fact that we'll be plunging the environment

  • Agreed, it is a complex problem and no easy solution. Fact is we should have been having this discussion many years ago, but, as I stated, politics and party loyalty gets ahead of common sense. Not to mention the power of BIG OIL

  • seeded soul: the name of the documentary was "Who Killed the Electric Car?" Check it out.

  • further along it's downward spiral.

Ethanol comes at a high cost: loss of farmland (and thus, food) to "oil fields"...the small amount of ethanol we already use has driven up grocery prices 4% in the last year. Imagine if we used enough farmland to produce fuel to substitute for the millions of gallons of oil we use every day...

conservation is the only thing we know will work, without unanticipated consequences (ie, blowing up and running out of food).

  • agreed 100%

  • To seedsoul: You're right on several issues. Perhaps the lifting of the Cuban embargo and the subsequent importation of sugar (ethanol)might help somewhat. Perhaps, with increase food production we can end agribusiness subsidies. And, yes, conservation is a huge part of it all.

  • Yeah, and I wish for World Peace, SeededSoul.

  • I want to do a tribal dance around a hummer too...

  • Without Oil the Iraqis wouldn't have any real source of income, nor the entire middle east. So for those who are gas guzzlers are actually helping them since they're buying the oil from the Middle East. Yes, I'm damned sure they're funding terrorism, but we already rely on it heavily as it is.

This is a very long and complicated debate, and the only solution i could possibly give off is for us to replicate hydrogen cars that scientists have already been able to create.

  • @XaviersSecretary

Most of the Middle East relies on trade, not oil. These civilizations were well to do long before oil was ever discovered below their feet. Also, the majority of Iraq's oil is being privatized by Congress for US companies, so you're not helping the Iraqi people by buying it. However, you are right about one thing. Buying gas is funding terrorism by giving more money to the corporations who initiated this war.

  • I will tell you now, Manila, I don't know much about oil and how it is distributed and bought, etc, but with common sense, for the U.S to privatize they WOULD have to buy them from the Iraqis (or any middle-eastern country), because it is their land of course.

  • ditto. would someone please give this man a Hummer?

  • Support our troops. Stop driving.

I'm not so sure about pouring petrol over it, but it's still a brilliant idea. Instead of burning that metal we ought to recycle it into prosthetic limbs for veterans.

  • RYCE- yes, you are right, but I am talking about a symbolic event; one that would galvanize masses of people.....

  • @davisfleetwood

I agree with the public destruction of this symbol of gluttony, and would be one of the first people there to document it. I just think after the car is destroyed, we could make a stronger statement by recycling it to benefit others. We can show that we are different than the war mongers with an equally potent act of creation; not just destruction.

  • sex for gas... HAHAHA give him a hummer.

  • Don't laugh we'll all be in that "position" (couldn't resist) soon enough holding signs saying "will give a hummer for gas."

  • You might be right.
