I'm really enjoying these video's bro. The zip gun etc. I began forging knives as a primitave way to has some self reliance. I wished I could find better schematics to understand how you built your zip gun.
Also I am power cramming knoppix\linux knowledge as I did with c++ programming. Trying to be a human swiss army knife as yourself.
@CodyOebel Thanks for the interest. Sadly, distributing gun schematics is not something that's legally tolerated, unlike the building of single experiments. I don't think that terrorists or bank robbers would have use for a .22 smg, but whatever. The next one in schedule is a converted semi auto starter pistol, with special cartridges, but it takes time, which i happen to have (2 weeks of shore leave for every 2 weeks at sea :P ) Anyway, good luck on your way to "self reliance".
Thank you for taking the time of your day in replying back. I do greatly appreciate it. Shore leave ehh? (I'm hoping to get my call for a seismic vessel job as my brother is already in the industry), a none-military position. I'm not sure if thats what you meant by shore leave, but anyways. Your a big inspiration to me friend. If I have any questions after I self research and come to an absolute wall would you mind if I ask?
@CodyOebel Ask if you want, i'll reply if i can, but that really isn't guaranteed. Most of my experience is with marine radios, not guns lol. Just a hobby.
Seismic ship sounds good, oceanography and stuff. In contrast, my ship hauls methane and nickel from a land of ice and alcoholics, woohoo.
If anyone was close to being Macgyver. Your it ! I pray no man ever get on your bad side LOL. I have a gun project in mind. It is legal in my State of U.S , Texas. That I can make a fire arm not fully auto, and I am unsure about semi-auto, but a bolt action rifle. Any resources you may have for such would be nice. I do understand the sharing of this type of stuff is controversial. I am a father to 5 young kids. So it's just instinctive preparation for me!
@CodyOebel IMHO, semi auto is the best blend between firepower and accuracy, along with 2-3 shot bursts. But semi triggers are awfully complicated to make, and quite delicate. Depends on the equipment you have available, but you'd need to be able to at least weld steel for receiver assemblies and so on, coil springs for small custom parts, and turn rods+make rifling with a lathe. You may re-use an already assembled trigger group... Okay, i'll send you a PM or we'll never be done.
LOL @ the never be done part. I can truly tell what your favorite hobby is :).
It was a Russian who inspire my behind the back knife throwing.
Youtube for the Fedin-Master from russia, or "Russian knife throwing". A dangerous knife thrower he is!
I'm going to make a gun :). I just might have to save for a low end cheap steel lathe. A wood lathe I assume wouldnt work correct? I could always use such tools anyways.
@CodyOebel Actually, woodworking tools work. Less efficiently, but as long as the control screws have no play, working slowly will get the job done. My main milling machine is a 1930 electric mortiser with a cut carter to take carbide cutters, and i wouldn't change it for any modern machine.
For a bolt action though, if you're still aiming for it, you'll require quite a bit of equipment.
I guess studying how to make a generator run off of wind, or water to provide 120v would do little good in an EMP attack. Electricity would be the first thing the chinese attack. This is why I'm prepping up.. I can eat rabbits and will stay away from the grocery stores where people will be violently killing each other during such event. One day we will use all the tech to move to another planet instead of killing each other with it. LOL
@CodyOebel Haha, the Chinese won't attack anyone unless they want a rain of nukes. They just have to wait, surf on the economic crisis wave, and become the leading economy by default. But yeah, power grids are crap everywhere. Where i live, power gets cut for about 2 weeks every time there's a somewhat strong storm. And there are a lot.
Careful about rabbits, they are lean meat, you can't survive on them. /smartass
Keep them coming ODRB :)
