i make these differently. pour a thin layer of clear soap, put artwork on then fill mould with rest of soap. fiddly but the artwork lasts several washes

Do the labels dissolve as the soap gets used, or do they eventually peel off?

Hi Xerock, yes and no. They don't totally dissolve, but instead, sort of roll away from the soap after several uses. I've had some soaps that kept the design on the face of the soap until the bar was nearly gone.
