it was when so many sub genres started popping up that the real vibe died, it brought segregation to something that was meant to be about community. this though..its just house through n through. some people called it hip-house due to the rapping which was common back then. listen to people like kerri chandler..theyre still carrying on the true sound

listen to dance factory - everybody dance now, or AB Logic - the hitman, or technotronic - get up; the rhythm is very similar and they not consider their music 'house'... it's like the begining of the 90's Dance and eurodance. I think it's like you say 'sub-genres', but very important too
