Tom tabbed his break in the April 2003 issue of Banjo Newsletter. You can order back issues from them - pretty inexpensive. He tabbed the break from their CD, but this clip is pretty close. Hope that helps.
Always loved the Johnson Mountain Boys. In my opinion they were one of the best bluegrass bands ever. As for the tune "Duncan and Brady" I give them two thumbs up!
I love Dudley Connell's voice and love it best with the JM Boys! Any chance you have a GOOD video with good sound quality like this one of: Get Down on Your Knees and Pray? or I've Fouind a Hiding Place? There are a couple out there in YouTube land, but the sound quality isn't good. THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORTS TO POST the wonderful ones you already have!
Tom continues to make his home in Adams County, Pennsylvania (Gettysburg area). Unfortunately his banjo playing has suffered due to his struggle with focal hand dystonia, a neurological disease for which there is currently no cure. I've met Tom and jammed with him several times during my time in Gettysburg, he's a class act.
Yes, that is a hard one to argue! Dudley is absolutely one of the best! On their version of the Blue Yodel #3, he sings the breaks off that, better than Monroe ever thought of sounding, with all respect to the Father of Bluegrass.
sounds so good...

Tom Adams is one of my favorite banjo pickers. He picks clean and fast. Hope someday his hand heals to play three finger style again.

Very almost perfect. A certain brand of mountain figgle never shows personality. We let the picking do the speaking.

You can tell hes wearing the same moustache today. Just look at how much its faded. Time to replace the ole stache Dudley!
