Yeah it works quite well. We've been using it a lot recently when doing circuit training, something like: 30 sec jump rope, 30 sec sledge, 30 sec swings, 30 sec kossack stretches etc.
Actually got the tire for free at a local tire center. They have a lot of tires they usually load into a semi to get recycled. They let me rummage through the tires to find one I liked. They even had a huge 300lbs+ tractor tire but my wife would not approve having that in the back yard. :)
