@ScullyboyDX I like the 360-6 or the 360-12. They do have narrow necks(more of a challenge with the 360-12) but they both are absolutely great instruments. Nothing else on this Earth will sound like a 360-12 or 370-12 which are my favorites overall.
Good job. I had never wondered what Please Please Me would have sounded like if George had had his 12 string when they recorded it, but now I know. Liked it. Thanks for sharing.
I used a compressor setting that I tweeked out of my Yamaha DG Stomp. I will probably buy a Jangle Box or similar stand-alone compressor eventually. I've heard good things about them although they are a bit pricey.
Was this a limited edition run? Because I have always been the biggest fan ever of the 360-12 model, but this model is R-E-A-L-L-Y impressing me. Before your videos, it was a foregone conclusion for me that I was going to buy the 360-12 in Fireglow, but this sounds terrific.
I have a new Rickenbacker 360/12 and wonder what strings you primarily use. I've heard that Pyramid flatwounds are the best but are they much better than, say Elixirs at half the price?
I'm pretty sure that george in the introduction chords (with armonic on album version) use two strings. The same technique used in song like FROM ME TO YOU, and in the end of IF I FEEL.
your a really great guitarist i barely got a an acoustic one from target and it came with the papers saying stuff like a minor and my fingers hurt i hope to be as good as u
They are not cheap...but they are fine instruments that are made as well as any custom shop model out there. Rickenbackers are very special guitars. Buy one and you'll see what I mean. -BC
No...That is an old Epiphone Genesis that I have owned since it was new in 1979. I weighs a ton...but it is a good guitar. It is basically a Les Paul with a double cutaway. -BC
I'm getting my own electric guitar soon and I want a Rickenbacker. My brother's got a les paul. You're really good... did you work this out, do you have a book or do you look at tabs. Keep these Beatle tunes coming! :D
Thanks! The Rickenbackers like I play are the 360 series and 370 series...in both 6 and 12-string models. They vary in price but you are probably going to pay somewhere between $1800-$2500 US Dollars for those if they have the vintage toaster reissue pickups. They are great guitars...and nothing else sounds like them. -BC
do you find that almost all of the beatles tracks are recorded slightly flat or sharp from standard tuning? whenever i play along with my guitar perfectly in tune it always sounds off. and i will have just been playing along other songs fine so i know its not my guitar.
Thanks! No I don't believe there was any chorus on this one. That is the sound of the Rickenbacker 370-12 creating that chorus effect. I think the compression makes it more pronounced in the video. -BC
Thanks! Maybe down the road. I know most of The Beatles songs...so choosing the ones to put up is sometimes difficult because I don't have the time to do them all. Thankls for watching! -BC
I've tested one a Rickenbacker 330 and I swear the sound was unlike any guitar I've ever played, I love the sound more than a Les Paul or a Strat, except I do have a fondness for Telecasters, but the Rick I played, it played better and sounded better, more like richer, than any thing I've played, and for my age I've played alot of different guitars, but obviously not near as many as you Bud!!!!
Well...I've played a lot of guitars...or at least tried to...LOL Rickenbacker is certainly one of the finest guitar brands ever produced. They have a custom shop level of quality in a production instrument...but you must understand that much of their building process is by hand and is labor intensive with great attention to detail. I like them enough that I own 4 of them...and will eventually purchase more...unless someone wants to give me one! :-) BC
one of the most forgotten guitars in a time where gibsons and fenders are the most popular, I personally love them but it's great how people are so quick to forget the rick, well notice the rhyme!
I have all of the above and a few others in my collection and I'll tell you that there is nothing else out there like a Rickenbacker. They truely have a sound that is unique and the quality of their instruments is outstanding. -BC
