  • Buckethead is a mystic god.

  • When I listen to this I imagine two people hyper fighting dbz style in the center of a supernova.

  • When I first heard this song:

    0:00 - 2:03 - Hey, I could probably play this

    2:04 - 2:24 - This bit sounds difficult though...

    2:25 - 4:16 - Could probably do this, at a push

    4:17 - 4:19 - Yeah, we'll just ignore that bit.

    4:50 - 4:58 - And that bit.

    5:51 - 6:02 - I'm starting to think Buckethead doesn't like me very much.

    6:22 - 8:07 - ... I'm gonna go lie down.

  • 63,684 melted faces and counting

  • I'm not even kidding, Hendrix inspired a lot of guitarists, but in terms of guitar skill, Buckethead is better.

  • @proudy97 buckethead = technical skill, hendrix = soul.

  • @sonofnothing Yeah. Hendrix had the passion and emotion, but Buckethead has more "skill".

  • @sonofnothing Buckethead has soul!!

  • @sonofnothing You can't be the judge of that. You just can't.

  • Excellent quality

  • xzc

  • I had a car crash 5 months back & went into a coma, I was in it for just over 3 months. My mum played bucketheads electric tears album every day by my bedside. I got out the coma..

  • @thomasharman14 If you don't love that woman every waking minute of your life, then please, let me.

  • @thomasharman14 The Buckethead giveth but the Buckethead does not taketh.

  • Saw him play this live yesterday. Best night ever.

  • @JealousyDepartment I was at the Vic last night too! This was my favorite song of the night.

  • @joebluedemon I know right? It was great. Personally, though, I liked Soothsayer [of course] and The Redeem Team the best.

  • OW MY GOD! The awesomeness of this song increases exponentialy every time you listen to this... Damn. And multiply that effect for when ur drunk like me right now. Wooohooow!

  • @vonhinten20 It's much better whilst blazed as fuck lol

  • Buckethead is a musical god, no one can shred like buckethead. His music is so unique and ever changing with every song. he is the god of the guitar.

  • @iAussieGuy i love buckethead also but paul gilbert and richie kotzen is better . haha heck they too good for us mortals

  • Buckethead, all that is this world cannot gather together to equal your emotional genius. You've saved my life over the last few years with your music. Thank you, and God bless.

  • @StylistRhymist I'm glad you have something to relate to!

  • fucking rocks!!! as always and as 4 ever will be :D buckethead pure genius ;D

  • @CRaZshredd3r This comment is win. I have so much fun with this solo :)

  • Awesomest fucking riff ever. Buckethead > everything else.

  • @mel577 I totally agree !

  • wow just wow

  • One of Buckethead's best in my opinion

  • I don't think he even has a close second in an argument over the best.

  • Its AMAZING what he does with one rythym going for the last half of the song! He takes the same riff in the background and puts on top of it an onslaught..

  • not inculuding the end :/ i like the way that sounds.

  • i know those 2 persons out there dont know how to play guitar

  • i think id be really interested in hearing a collaboration between buckethead and chris cornell

  • His music is heavy and unbelievably medolic. The guy rules.

  • the like to dislike ratio (261:1) speaks volumes.

  • beansticks isn't the same thing as retard either, never mind, i better take that back before i look like a complete jackass in front of everyone. retard.

  • super!!!!!

  • the best of the best

    the only Buckethead

  • Beautiful and tragic at the same time. LIke love.

  • @beansticks first of all, G major IS the relative major of E minor...secondly, just enjoy the music !

  • @beansticks *Sigh* Another guitar hero recruit?

  • the one who disliked this only can be Buckethead

  • Whatever siege engine this song is about would make me shit my pants.

  • my fav until king james

  • I'm pissed of that last note is missing.

  • Awesome

  • My favorite buckethead song changes so often..

whitewash, for mom, lone sal bug, my sheeetz, all some of my favorites

  • Only just discovered this song -.- holy shit is it epic. I love BH. And BJ... but thats... unrelated. Terribly sorry. Favourite song of mine is probably Frozen Brains Tell No Tails... maybe Escape From Inbred Mountain. Or maybe Soothsayer. Or maybe... ill stop now xD

  • @TeddyBearAutopsyUK I also just discovered this song, after I've been listening to this dude for about a year, cannot BELIEVE I haven't heard of this song before, definitely one of his best, Frozen Brains Tell No Tales is an awesome song too.

  • @TeddyBearAutopsyUK

    Love BH. And BJ....

    I LOL'D SO MUCH, SRSLY

  • Only just discovered this song -.- holy shit is it epic. I love BH. And BJ... but thats... unrelated. Terribly sorry.

  • This is by far one of his best songs, second only to Soothsayer and maybe Nottingham Lace

  • Play 3:31 to 3:41 can heal all your pains

  • @GuilleGuiden - love that part of the song so much I made it my ringtone almost two years ago and it still is my ringtone to this day. Love it.

  • 0:57 my gooooood its soooo good

  • On day zero, Buckethead made God !

  • clean, fast, technical, original, man when i get 'ome me guitar goin' in da bin,

  • wow wow wow ive liked Buckethead for AGES but why the hell have i never heard this song?!

  • @Bunters196 I don't think anyone can possibly have heard everything Buckethead has ever played, there aren't enough man-hours to actually achieve this.

  • I think I've figured out why I'm so damn enthralled by this piece and Nottingham Lace. It's the rhythm. Whenever I listen to the killer solos in both pieces, I can't help but notice my head bobbing to the backing chords which come from earlier in each piece. The fact that Buckethead kills it to a smooth, steady rhythm is the reason why I can listen to his music all day whereas I can barely listen to a whole piece by certain other shredders. Buckethead for the win.

  • @ThatCreepyNeighbor

    That's the answer to life.

  • 1:35...pure emotion

  • Best. Song. Ever.

  • Probably the best composition ever made by Buckethead.

    3 curious points:

1.- Initial riff = one of the finest melodies ive heard in instrumental music.

2.- 2:04 = well its just... tasteful... mindblowing... pure genius is the word?

3.- 4:49 = im pretty sure thats a tribute to a chickens scream... gave me chills...

After all, Brian Carroll is the god of us all.

    Hail to the bucket.

  • This and Soothsayer are my favorite songs ever.. depends on what mood I'm in.

  • Buckethead rule :

    1) Soothsayer

    2 ) Siege Engine

    3) Jordan

    4) Whitewash

    5) King James

  • @ricoismybitch Not bad...

I'd put "Final Wars" , "Exit 909", "Dawn of the Deuce", and "Sea of Expanding Shapes" somewhere up there....

    but that's just me...

  • @KirbyOnCronic i haven't heard exit 909 and dawn of the deuce , let me go check it out , but final wars is great though

  • @ricoismybitch What about "Plankton" and "Imprint"? I could listen to those all day.

  • @KirbyOnCronic fact is , they're all good , and not to forget colma and electric tears - for mom , watching the boats with my dad , padmasana , colma , all in the waiting , ghost host - each and every song is soothing and dynamic at the same time - that's contradiction - that's true art

  • @ricoismybitch jordan is a horrible song. it's a great example of his virtuosity, but since it was featured on guitar hero that's the kind of music everyone expects from buckethead, and thus not many people have heard his more melodic and emotional songs. i love electric tears - the whole album gives off such emotion. but yeah otherwise you're pretty much right.

  • @ImaPirate83 jordan is a very different song , it's based entirely on groove , i love it , many others do , you don't and few others don't either , it's not necessary for everyone to like everything ,peace , love and buckethead :)

  • Forgot how epic that solo is...

  • it's like solos within solos, it's buetiful

  • i'm haveing a rockgasm!

  • Buckethead is the best thing that happened to Hard Rock EVER !!!

  • 138!

  • im learning the song on guitar its great

  • man this song is amazing.never disappointed with buckethead. :)

  • if anyone can get ahold of the tabs for this full song and message me where i can find them that would make my day.. (i know i wont be able to play like that for a while but i always have time to practice) ^_^

  • @deathgift07 THERE ARE NOT TABS FOR THIS, IF YOU NEEED THEM THEN YOU CANT PLAY THIS SONG YET

  • @deathgift07 Buckethead didnt use tabs, and i doubt he can remember what he played in this solo, he might even have improvised it.

I WOULD be glad to show you how he does it though :)

  • I have never heard something live this...Omg

  • why is it whenever he is live, he always plays that same lick paul gilbert taught him in ALL of his solos... then in his studio versions it sound a lot less like that lick and sounds... new?! lol

  • @readthisyouarestupid the studio versions are near impossible to improv like that.. but i was thinking the same thing. still love the backstep variation of the riff, though he plays it so much

  • actually you cutt 4 seconds off the end!

  • holy f*** this is awesome

  • i cant decide between this one and nottingham lace. also, i bin readin through all the comments - everyone talkin bout their favourite songs of his nd i CANT BELIEVE no-ones mentioned whitewash. totally diffrent type of song but its still incredible. one of his best without question.

  • @aceofspoons see, the thing is noone knows about the Electric Tears album, that album, from beginning to end is one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard...and I've listened to quite a bit

  • @aceofspoons mean't COLMA, was listening to Electric Tears :P

  • @aceofspoons unrestrained growth

  • @aceofspoons for me.. it has to be night of the slunk.. did you hear captain eo's voyage yet?

  • @TheNaughtyOtsel ah yh, night of the slunk is pretty awesome. no i havent but ive been meaning to get it - thanks for the reminder

  • @aceofspoons I don't think Buckethead could have a best song.. He is so diverse, comparing his songs would be like comparing andy mckee to steve vai. Although, you should check out lotus island. In my opinion, its one of his best songs, and most people haven't heard of it.

  • @aceofspoons well, whitewash is my fave buckethead song, well, at least one of my 50 fave buckethead songs XD

  • @aceofspoons Same here man. Whitewash is a bitchin song. I love the blues feel he puts into it

  • I prefer this live but its great either way

  • the Bucket enter the fucking chicken two, cant wait, mark my words. its going to happen soon

  • @amonamarthavenger Any news on when? I will cum rainbows if there's an Enter the Chicken 2.

  • this is my favorite buckethead song.

  • Or this is also in G major...same thing as Em Aeolian

  • or even B minor pentatonic, theres so many things you could do haha

  • @TaxideaTaxis

also, most of his songs are in G major/E minor... Actually, i'm just playing in G Major because of this xD...

and sometimes he tune down 1/2 step, so he plays in F#Major, but doesn't matter, since the scales are "the same" (you tune down but play like it was in normal tunning)...

His style is kinda simple, but he makes it so complex and hard to play...Damn it...

  • @Manolao I think he uses a lot of flat keys, at least lately he has. Maybe he started down-turning

  • @Manolao I'm a music major and looking at these comments is kinda ridiculous. People are WAYYY over thinking BH. All he's doing here is playing in Eminor (ALSO KNOWN AS G MAJOR). People get into this "playing in many different keys and he changes all the time". BH is really really simply. 99% of his songs he's in the Aeolian mode you just have to take 3sec and find out what key he's in.

  • @TaxideaTaxis From the keys, yes. But his techniques, different instruments, and different styles are what makes him complex. Its simply complex XD

  • @TaxideaTaxis Dude the Aeolian mode is simply a natural minor scale. (Which is considered different than G major even though the note selection is the same.) So what he's playing in a minor scale. Chopin did that all the time. That doesn't make his music simple. Your making yourself sound incredibly ignorant here.

  • @TaxideaTaxis Eminor is not the same as G Major.

  • @Beansticks

    You didn't seriously just....*Facepalm*

  • @kinobiheart Em and E aeolian are the same thing fella

  • @kinobiheart I think he always play in the Aeolian scale..

  • @Serie312 Ok...?

  • @kinobiheart

technically, that's wrong. modes aren't scales, and buckethead plays all sorts of modes, not just the aeolian.

  • @GoodMetalFTW ...What...? What comment are you replying to.

  • @kinobiheart

yours, because he led you in the wrong direction.

  • @GoodMetalFTW I removed my comment a long time ago. The only comment I have on this video that isn't removed, is my reply to you, soon to be this one, and a comment that says "Ok...?" to Serie312. I am aware that modes aren't scales and that Buckethead plays all sorts. But thanks for your concern.

  • @kinobiheart

yeah, i just don't like people leading other people in the wrong direction. i just wanted to make sure that you didn't get led in the wrong direction.

  • type in "bucketheawd lesson" and click on the one with the light blue guitar.

  • he use about 4 different scales in this, have you seen it live?

i know them, but i dont know what they are called

  • I find this song the most exciting from the Buck. Ironically enough it's titled, "Siege Engine". Play on words maybe?

  • a siege engine is what was used to destroy and capture castles, the trebuchet is a good example.

  • its not the same without that last second on the end ;)

  • MY favorite is "Who Me?" it' just so damn BRUTAL!

    Awesome guitar player though, seriously

  • Buckethead plays everything!

    "Siege Engine"

    "Spell of The Gypsies"

    "Night of The Slunk"

    "Frozen Brains Tell No Tails"

Listen to them and hear the difference

  • Yeah and while you do that ask him to play Machete, hopefully someone will finally record a live version of it. ;-P
