its a gradual thing, its not like one date and get punched. Its over a period of time, a slow stripping of your pride, friends, and dignity. When you look for help, nobody is there. You feel trapped and with no network, your self esteem plummets. I left and came back 3 times, then married him.. ?!?!?! but now Ive been out for 3 years and finally stopped holding it in, and am a public speaker and victim advocate. I hold live music events as awareness functions.

My father abuses my mother, I wish she would leave him. I've been begging her since my freshman year of high school.I'm a freshman in college now. Someone please explain to me why women feel weak around these men? I don't understand why you don't leave! Sure finances will be hard, but is the abuse worth having money? In my opinion I'd rather be broke and in a box than be struck by some pompous, controlling, psychotic man!

This song and video is very inspiring to me. I was meant to hear this song.. I was in love with a man who violated me and i was in denial for a long time of his violence against me. He would make me beleivei triggered him to hit and choke me out 1 His family aided and abbedded him in his violence.. i finally got the courage to stand up for myself and make him pay for his crimes against me.. My heart goes out to all women dealing with domestic violence. its a crime. Move on and never look back

There is never a reason for hitting anyone under any circumstance. Violence is the result of a weak mind. A person who can't succeed at their own life and has a need to blame someone else for it. Domestic violence also does not distenquish between male and female. Male on male violence, female on female violence, it also knows no age limits. Help stop the cycle now! It starts with us.

Bless you for your response. I was abused off and on for over 5 years. Tried to make it work with the father of my children went thorugh horrible emotional, mental physical abuse. I was hurt for a couple of the reasons you listed. It will be a year next month that I have left him for the last time! I am almost finished with my degree, I have two beautiful children to raise and I have a wonderful and loving man in my life for myself and my children. I just wanted to say your post was appreciated!
