the drum ( Dolmayan) are nice the guitar are nice (Daron ) but the voice are pretty bad (Daron :D) serj are the voice but i lisen serj solo but scars are bad daron dont have the voice for a lead vocal

Daron joined Serj's band Soil then they decided to change the name to system of a down based on a poem Daron wrote called vicinity of a down. Also Serj writes most the songs. Until the Mesmerize and Hypnotize albums Daron wrote about 4 songs per record and Serj wrote the rest. Look it up if you don't believe me it says who wrote what right on the albums.

Plus, you might want to get an actual recorder. the one I got is about 150 and the quality is amazing. zThe program I use to edit my music is mixcraft. it's totally free. plus I use sennheiser soundproof headphones. this all comes to about 220 bucks. You got a good sound, I'd love to hear it at its best
@darkhorizon088 He's not a Paul Gilbert by any pace, but he actually is very skilled as a guitarist. He just isn't one to wank around on wild shred solos to show it off as he has a more melodic, simplistic approach, which is why most of his solos have very few actual notes most of the time.

i don't like serj's stuff as much as scars but i am a big fan of elect the dead. my favorite songs on it are sky is over, lie lie lie, unthinking majority, and elect the dead. feed us and saving us are good too. actually, i love the whole album so i'm not really a good one to ask. BUT scars is far superior to it.
But, if daron really wrote most of soads songs, why the ones from Scars are the same musically speaking?all those keyboards, and non complex songs.. i really dont like that much. Although serj create awsome songs, not just the lyrics the music to, and lets face it, he had a lot more of succes, taking DVDs, and playing all over the world, the one in london is even better than the album!
but like i said, we all wait for SOAD to come back and fuck the system
its not an if. i have a book on the band it self you can pick it up at a local book store and in it there are quotes from daron and serj saying that daron wrote 95 % of their songs
Dario proved that he is the brains behind SOAD with the scope of the 2 side-projects. Far better lyrics and instrumentals than Serj. Even this bonus song is better than 1/2 the songs on Serj's album.
well i know its a matter of opinion, but, serj is better lyricly and SOB songs are to repetitive, daron made good riffs but he repeat them again and again, dont get me wrong i love scars but i admite that serj solo album is way better than scars, but we need S.O.A.D back!
i love both sob and serj and i miss soad too. but i think there colabritive time went stail tward the end and they needed to free themselfs from that. it always sucks when great bands break up but it could of been worse. someone could of died or they could of broken up without respect for one another
I've enjoyed Serj's solo career somewhat but I think both of them are missing something. They never fully embraced their differences, which is awful considering how many modern ballads can be made when they mesh their styles.
SOB and FCC are both missing something, and until these two embrace their McCartney/Lennon song writing relationship SOAD won't even reach full potential even if they do wind up reuniting. Here's hoping. I'd like them to produce something less juvenile.
i dont think thats something you can just find over night. its a process of finding your self musicaly. dont get me wrong i loved soad and they were great but that was part of both of serj and darons evolution in song writing i disagree about there being something they are missing part. i think thats why they parted ways because something was missing and they needed to find there own musical direction. (i dont wont to come off as smug just giving my thoughts)

@PinoyCrackerBoyz well does he have the talent of let's say jimmy page? I mean, can he play on a bow with a guitar. I love soad and daron in general, but he's to basic. Ive done 3 BARED power chords, and it sounds like something he writes. I bet if he wrote a lot more complex songs, you'd see his true talent. til then, I'm unimpressed

@yourGothicfriend yes he is talented (as he demonstrates in a few more complex SOAD songs) but i agree with you. he could write way more complex music

@yourGothicfriend I wish I could do what he does, I can sit there sweeping and shredding all day and it sounds nowhere near as good as him playing just a few chords, that what makes him so good, that he can get something so small and make something good out of it, but yeah I would like to see him just write one super complex song :P

@yourGothicfriend I don't tend to look at tabs; I piece most songs out by ear. Helps train your ear a bit, and it's better for you in the long run

@Ryoku1989 ever heard of logitech webcam? great vid quality. Plus, you might want to get an actual recorder. the one I got is about 150 and the quality is amazing. zThe program I use to edit my music is mixcraft. it's totally free. plus I use sennheiser soundproof headphones. this all comes to about 220 bucks. You got a good sound, I'd love to hear it at its best

@darkhorizon088 He's not a Paul Gilbert by any pace, but he actually is very skilled as a guitarist. He just isn't one to wank around on wild shred solos to show it off as he has a more melodic, simplistic approach, which is why most of his solos have very few actual notes most of the time.

i don't like serj's stuff as much as scars but i am a big fan of elect the dead. my favorite songs on it are sky is over, lie lie lie, unthinking majority, and elect the dead. feed us and saving us are good too. actually, i love the whole album so i'm not really a good one to ask. BUT scars is far superior to it.

@jfdamiani: I gotta disagree with Serj's album being better than Scars.
I actually prefer Serj's voice, but Scars is the better album.
1) Daron's the better songwriter; he wrote a vast majority of SYSTEM's material that we all love.
2) Daron's a much better guitar player :)
3) He can sing too.

But, if daron really wrote most of soads songs, why the ones from Scars are the same musically speaking?all those keyboards, and non complex songs.. i really dont like that much. Although serj create awsome songs, not just the lyrics the music to, and lets face it, he had a lot more of succes, taking DVDs, and playing all over the world, the one in london is even better than the album!
but like i said, we all wait for SOAD to come back and fuck the system

its not an if. i have a book on the band it self you can pick it up at a local book store and in it there are quotes from daron and serj saying that daron wrote 95 % of their songs

Dario proved that he is the brains behind SOAD with the scope of the 2 side-projects. Far better lyrics and instrumentals than Serj. Even this bonus song is better than 1/2 the songs on Serj's album.

well i know its a matter of opinion, but, serj is better lyricly and SOB songs are to repetitive, daron made good riffs but he repeat them again and again, dont get me wrong i love scars but i admite that serj solo album is way better than scars, but we need S.O.A.D back!

i love both sob and serj and i miss soad too. but i think there colabritive time went stail tward the end and they needed to free themselfs from that. it always sucks when great bands break up but it could of been worse. someone could of died or they could of broken up without respect for one another

I've enjoyed Serj's solo career somewhat but I think both of them are missing something. They never fully embraced their differences, which is awful considering how many modern ballads can be made when they mesh their styles.
SOB and FCC are both missing something, and until these two embrace their McCartney/Lennon song writing relationship SOAD won't even reach full potential even if they do wind up reuniting. Here's hoping. I'd like them to produce something less juvenile.

i dont think thats something you can just find over night. its a process of finding your self musicaly. dont get me wrong i loved soad and they were great but that was part of both of serj and darons evolution in song writing i disagree about there being something they are missing part. i think thats why they parted ways because something was missing and they needed to find there own musical direction. (i dont wont to come off as smug just giving my thoughts)
