@soli82cat I think the scandal you refer to was Members of Parliament (MPs) and the House of Lords (Lords/Peers) falsely claiming expenses and committing fraud (for which several are now serving prison sentences). If you mean does the UK as a society care about illegal immigration, then yes they certainly do. Does the government care? It would seem so, but they don't take the problem as seriously as they should or could. Opposing immigration is not xenophobia.

The legal restrictions imposed on the UK from the EU and UN which make securing our borders and removing illegal immigrants difficult has nothing to do with the the UK, or our Border Agency who are doing the best they can under the circumstances. This comes down to poor governance by a corrupt and failing political regime and has nothing to do with the UK as a country. Most would be glad to see the back of the EU and the present political parties.
