  • Cleanest version on youtube. However, must be pointed out that good guitar is being used also.

    Great work and great playing.

  • Great!!!

  • hey can i please have the tabs or the picking paterns please ?

  • Probably my favorite Fahey song. Would be nicer to hear it slowed down a little. I guess there's two versions on that album. The second one is slower and that's my fav. Nice cover. Wish I could come anywhere near that. Keep it up.

  • Nice cover!!

  • playing the base line wrong, when you play the C, the base line plays on the E A and D string, he's only playing on the A and D. but it sounds good anyway.

  • Well, I hear you. However, I like the way he is playing it!

    Terrific

  • wow cool, great job. Im currently learning this one

  • That was really great! Thanks.

  • Sligo Creek runs through Takoma Park, Maryland, where Fahey lived. It flows into the Potomac, and folks thereabouts often call it the Sligo River.

  • By the way the River in Sligo Ireland is called the Garavogue. No idea if Fahey wrote this while there.

  • Knowing Fahey as an intelligent man he probably used artistic license with the title.

  • Well, yeah, he lived in takoma park maryland, and theres a sligo river through takoma park. I used to live in that area and i always felt honored to hear that song and know it was the same river

very nice video! ive never been able to get the triplet section down so smoothly

  • @1ArtfulBodger @methodinsane,

It's named for Sligo Creek in Silver Spring, Maryland.

  • @1ArtfulBodger Actually, Sligo river blues is named after Sligo Creek which is just outside of Washington, DC. Beautiful playing, BTW.

  • @rebeloj thanks man.

  • @methodinsane Possibly, but I suspect he is referring to the Sligo Creek which wends its way through north Takoma Park, Maryland., where Fahey grew up. Living fairly nearby, I know very well it is no ones idea of a river but maybe that is where the artistic license comes in.

  • @CroatAndNettles Well that would probably make more sense. I don't know much about Fahey's life except what I've read but I love his music.
