How can people think this is good? The screaming is bad, the singer is always off key when he sings, they're dressed up like monsters, and the people playing the instruments are basically dong random things to the beat of the song. Seriously, I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how this is good.
the fact that it sounds so good on the album makes people enjoy simply seeing the talented band live letting loose and going crazy. if you would like to see what was good listen to the album version.
I don't like rap much either, but at least there's some good rap with some lyrical quality. But this....this is just horrible. Anyone who likes this must be a complete fanboy, because I seriously doubt that someone who has never heard the band before could watch this video and be like "Oh my god, this is so good!"
the only way they r similar is they both r sorta metal
and x-japan is legendary. but yoshiki went to drum for dir en grey. he is actually the one that got them all their fame. he produced most of their songs in the beginning, and is the one that got them their record label
He produced around 4-5 songs on Gauze, if that means "most of ther songs" to you. And whats up with "went to drum for dir en grey"? I hope you're just fuckin around.
oh man, I dont get it...in what way are they similar to Deg?? And no, I don't think their stage presence is similar - you could say that about any rock band, and not only jrock band.
And God, their music is different.
I am a huge fan of Diru, but I see no similarities between these two. Other than the fact that they sing in Japanese and a little bit of english, and they have guitars, and a bass, and a drummer.
i'm sorry guys but the biggest ever jrock band will always be X-Japan. And the most idolized Jrocker will forever be Hide & Yoshiki. Just behind them would be Luna Sea. :D
theres something about the way he pounds his fist in the air that i like. i think it just reminds me of some other concert i really liked...don't know
wow dir en grey old school rock??? dude the moved beyond rock their metal now homie.. and they were never old school!!! dude they became so popular i dont think girugamesh can possibly stand up to them i love both but diru is just first for me
this is my opinion so people dont get offended!!!!!!
Oh my god it's JrockJohn again with even more pearls of wisdom!
Bloody hell, do you leave any smart comments? Seriously, fuck off mate...
Girugämesh is great, but they are incomparable to Dir en Grey. I love both bands and I have ALL of their CD's, Singles & Mini Albums... But, just tell me, what accomplishments have Girugämesh made that could even hold a candle to what Dir en Grey has done for rock in Japan? How many Japanese vocalists try to sound like Satoshi?
Kyo is an artist and a poet. Countless singers try and fail to emulate him. Exactly how irrelevant could one of the most copied Japanese vocalists be? "Like listening to the Beatles"? The Beatles are bloody ancient. Dir en Grey has only been a band since '97, since when was that old!?
"Girugamesh is the future"... Okay, I love them, but... The future of what exactly? "Jrock"? Mate, the only thing Japanese about them are the lyrics. Other than that, it's all western-influenced hard rock. I mean look at their favourite bands... It's all like nü metal or screamo or something... Their music won't change anything... With a name like "Jrock John" (Corny), you think you'd know a little more about Japanese music, but you really have no bloody clue, do you?... Blighter...
Ok, about this Dir en grey vs Girugamesh thing. I think only thing's that similar to deg is satoshi's way of performing and the make-up style... Maybe Kyo has influenced him somehow. So what? Almost every band has got some influence from some other band. It's natural. I think giru's sound is more like most other japanese bands... Dir en grey is something more unique. But giru's amazing anyhow! :--O both bands rock!
i actually almost like this band better than dir en grey. sure they're similar, but there similar in the way bands of the same genre are similar. His voice is so much deeper, and they are brutal as hell. Dir en grey is a more versitile band.
wickedn355: But they haven't recorded the crowd so much so you can't hear them so good in this video. But yeah I agree. Japanese fans are worst evah xD
Yes, Japanese fans are different than american fans. They both can love a band the same way but show it different. Americans are more wild, which is why Dir en grey perfer playing live in America.
well i have to say that giru does share similarities with diru, but in my opinion Dir en grey is the best band ever made and no one can beat them. so i guess it doesnt matter if people compare them as long as they know whos better! lol giru is a veeeerry good band though!! def in my faves. this song is goku, like dragon ball Z?? xD COOL
I agree sooo much! I thought I was the only crazy person who thought that. Everybody says I'm crazy for saying that. It does! Same start too. I wonder which one was made first...
You lot don't know what you're talking about. The person who posted that shit about Malice Mizer and Baiser are fucking stupid. The bands which dominated japanese charts were X Japan, Luna Sea, and pretty much anything outside visual kei. If you're looking for influential bands, look back to the 1980's, you load of fucking cunts.
Oh, and Girugamesh really don't sound like Dir en grey. Satoshi also said that X Japan influenced him a lot, even though they don't sound like them either.
The Drummer from An Cafe said Diru was a huge influence on him but some of these new bands like girugamesh. but no way in hell do they sound like them!
hello...Kyo's voice? And their lead singers voice SOUND NOTHING ALIKE. When singing or screaming.
But the point is, is that before diru went to america they were around in japan for just as long as some of the bands they supossedly influenced. Their not that old to be influencing people. Their not Baiser, their Not Malice Mizer.
Dude, whoever says that they sound like Dir en Grey, need to go get their fucking ears checked. I'm sick of people comparing Dir en Grey to bands or saying that bands are influenced by then randomly, even if they're not.
Girugamesh? OH, THEY'RE INFLUENCED BY DIR EN GREY
Gazette? OH, THEY'RE INFLUENCED BY DIR EN GREY
Morning Musume? OH, THEY'RE INFLUENCED BY DIR EN GREY
lol i know what you mean, just because they are a metal japanese band they MUST BE influenced by dir en grey because dir en grey has pretty much went main stream. none the less dir en grey and girugamesh are two of my favorite bands ^^
sometimes bands do sound a bit like deg in other people's opinions, but i agree, it really is stupid to say just about every band is influenced by them. haha.
