Why not just put a cone on the posts like an upside down "V" no monkey can get past it and its cheaper than insulating many km of wire. i mean its just plastic on some wood. :)

@dontbelivewhatyourea Vicki, Steve, and Brenda have worked with ICE (the division of the government that deals with electricity) and insulated 40+ kilometers of electrical lines. They're working on it, but Costa Rica is not a rich country so it's taking a lot of time. Check out their website for more info: nosarawildlife . com

@toddbieber I think Star Wars is cool. I also think Star Trek was cool. Shows like that were the precursers for today's Harry Potter and other popular films. People who like such things, are spiritual, creative, connected, ok with thinking outside of the box. What could possibly be cooler than that?
