im planning on buying myself a dsi since it doesnt have gba slot. do you think the dsi by itself has enough ram?

Quake2DS wasn't designed for the DSi's memory, so I doubt you will be able to run it without a Slot-2 device.

No, it doesn't have enough memory that it could be used practically.

It's in the form of a GBA card. The one I use is the EZ Flash 3-in-1, and you simply plug it into the GBA slot.

You can buy one on the internet, just do a Google search for it.

Sadly, loads of my homebrew programmes have stopped working since I upgraded to a SDHC memory card. Quake 2 used to work on my 2 gb microSD, now I get a Red screen of Death "Guru meditation error". Besides that, its a great port. It runs laggy though if you use the Full Game Pak files, because they are huge compared to the demo pak files.

This is a great port, and I hope it improves in the near future.

No, I have a CycloDS, and 2 kingston memery cards. I use the CycloDS firmware to boot. Have also tried it in edge and R4, but niether of them work with the 4gb either. Also, the 4gb card is made in Taiwan, and the 2 gb in Japan.

i have done this and i have a memory expansion pack from my opera browser and it keeps saying there isnt enough memory. it sucks

Sadly the Opera memory exp. pack is only 8MB. Quake2DS requires at least 16.

*ahem* Anyway, it's something you buy. It goes in the GBA slot. I recommend an EZ Flash 3-in-1, as that is what I use, and so do most people. You can find them at DealExtreme .Dot. com for pretty cheap, and usually free shipping.

Anyway, I don't have a TTDS, but if it runs homebrew it will definitely work. You do need an EZ Flash or other RAM pack to run it though.

Uh, you need a DS Slot-1 flashcard and a Slot-2 RAM pack if that's what you mean.

Well if you don't already have it, you need a DS, a flashcard (I recommend CycloDS), and a microSD card (I recommend at least 1GB).

You could get a used DS for cheap, a cheaper flashcard (EDGE, DSOne) and you can find 1GB microSD's on Pricewatch for very cheap, about $8.
