My mom did something like this too me recently in 2009. There was this Minnesota Vikings Zippo I really wanted. But at the time we didn't have the money to get it so I had to wait for a while. I came into some money and this California. Viking stuff sells out quick, I went that little store to get it and the woman told me that a lady had already bought a while ago. I was really upset Christmas day comes around and I open the box and there it is. I cried and hugged my mom for that surprise.

My dad did something similar to me. I mean, i'd be in highschool next year, and some people may not say anime/manga stuff is anything but to me it means a lot. So, In Borders they had a complete set edition of the Death note manga series. it was 100$ I would buy that bbut i didnt have enough >< Dad told me we'd get it tomorrow, so i was freaking out, saying it'd be gone. Sure enough it was. I was so upset/sad. Then on xmas, i found it under the tree. I was so happy. Parents can be so sly!
