The public option quickly becomes a government-controlled monopoly because of all the inherent advantages against the private sector. The private sector can't fairly compete and before long the public "option" becomes the ONLY option.

Without competition, prices will eventually rise and -- like everything else government operates -- the whole system is inevitably hampered by inefficiency. Socialized medicine ALWAYS results in lower quality care and backed-up waiting lists!!

What relatively small difference there is (where applicable) can easily be attributed the gluttonous and excessive lifestyles of Americans... NOT their healthcare quality.

It is certain groups of "Americans" and more precisely, NON WHITE Americans, such as IMMIGRANTS from third world countries like Mexico, and AFRICAN AMERICANS.
