What are the fireman doing? Watching it burn? Let me guess what third world country are the owners from? If I owned a business in Daytona right now I would have burned it down too.
We were at Seven-Eleven when we saw the fire truck go by. We got back out on the beach and saw the big smoke cloud. I have video posted from the beach, showing the big billowing smoke cloud as it rises above the hotels and condominiums.
right? that's the first thing that came to my mind. This town is hurting for business and tourism. Can't imagine that souvenir shop had much business at all. It was dated, and filled with granny like nick-nacks. *shrug* It's a shame. I hope this town picks up soon... slowly becoming a "bikeweek" only town... =(
yea i took a trip to daytona with some friends. we ate at the pizza place that was like 2 buildings away just before it happened. glad i wasn't still parked there.
My fiance and I were there. We were on the beach when he heard the sirens and saw the smoke. It was so crazy. There was a guy that said it wasn't the first time it happened to the family/owners.
My daughter and I were walking across the bridge to the Ocean Walks when we saw it-obviously a few minutes after it started. We were two of the first 10 people down there. It took fire dept nearly 10 min to respond. By that time the first shop was engulfed.
i was standing on the street corner when this happened it was awesome!
