i just got "ma'am"ed on the phone when i called to find out if a certain doctor was an endocrinologist. frickin stupif receptionist. do i have to tell EVERYONE i'm trans in order to get the right pronouns? fffuuucckk. this is going to be such a pain in the ass when i go to my job interview next week. not to mention once i actually start T and i'm in college and all the changes start taking effect.
I know right now I'm trying to get my friends to switch over to my full chosen name instead of a nickname that's from my old legal name... They've always known me as male, and even I have trouble using my chosen name instead of the nickname sometimes, so I imagine it can be tough for them too.
I don't think it's selfish to talk about your frustrations; it's only selfish if you end up downplaying his frustrations, but you're really good about not doing that :)
