  • Tracing Days says: They've become very suspicious of "crossover" music.

After the Evanescence fiasco it is no wonder.

  • Good interview. New stats out today says Christian sales falling again. Christian music used to be marketed at Christians, but today it is universal themes and crossovers. Once the Christian stuff was lessened the music became known as "Jesus is my girlfriend" for the ambiguous lyrics, many Christians turned off. I worked in Christian radio and was taught that no matter what we played we would offend someone. It appears that by trying to offend no one they've lost market share.

  • I like to write doom and gloom armageddon type stuff. I think its the sign of the times.

  • Christian radio has a very different view on songs songs they'll play! I've talked with most PDs for CHR, Rock, and AC radio this last year, promoting our album. They've become very suspicious of "crossover" music. These stations are supported by Christians who want to hear the message of Christ on the radio. They view some songs with suspicion if they're ambiguous about who Christ is. Industry opinion doesn't always match up to the listener opinion. Lonnie Bos, TracingDays

  • Michael, Thanks for focusing on Christian music so early on in these videos! I met Michael Puryear at the last rally, and he is such a kind, knowledagable soul, I wish I could just follow him around for a week and learn everything I could from him.
