  • Beautiful -3

  • This song is catchy can't stop replaying

  • Look you mindless peasants, this is what she believes in, money. Money and attention. Whether she sings "christian" music or not, all she wants is you money and adulation.

  • thumbs up if Us magazine brought you here. :)

  • Rather than everyone arguing over Katy's religious beliefs or salvation, go out and do something that benefits others. No one knows Katy in real life so arguing, judging, or debating what her beliefs are does nothing for anyone.

I posted this music because I love it and it has brought me insight and peace when times were rough, not to start a debate. Sit back and enjoy the music. I think it's some of the best Christian music out there. Her lyrics are genuine and her voice is incredible!

  • She actually sounds a LOT better like this.

  • I'm going to show my pastor cousin I Kissed A Girl, and CA gurls, and then show him this, and then tell him its the same person. xD

  • you most certainly can't speak "eloquent philosophy", dear katy... look who you married.

  • wow she sounded great.

  • man, that sounds NICE. i wish she would still make that kind of music. i can't listen to her new stuff, it just annoys me =)

  • I lyk her better now..i like her better free and not like what her parents wanted her to be. Go new katy perry!!!

  • @MrTruthAddict Amen!!

  • Katy Perry could use my advice!!! Just wish she had a chance to find out about me and hear what I have to say!!!

  • I MISS KATY HUDSON :(

  • WOW AMAZING! I LOVE IT!!!!!

  • Is that her real voice at the end? Or is she being silly?

  • i love the theatrics of this song. It shows how creative Katy really is as an artist.

  • oh my god the british accent she does in this jkakgaskldgn

  • @rawritsnicolex3 British? Where? x_X

  • @xxXNevis200903Xxx well faintly british, whatever. with "or speak in eloquent philosophy"

  • @rawritsnicolex3 Got it. ^^ But she actually doesn't have english accent at all. Totally american :)

  • @xxXNevis200903Xxx i know she doesn't actually, but it sounds so cute when she does :3

  • @rawritsnicolex3 When once she was trying to speak like Beyonce, yeah. That was cute... :F

    This song isn't british-accented. It's Queenish. ;F

  • wow i just cant get over how GREAT! her voice is on this album! its like now her pop music is so overproduced and so computerized that you cant even hear or tell that she really does have a great voice...although i do love her pop music, i just stumbled upon this today, i think i might like this version of Katy better just because i can hear what a beautiful voice she has more clearly...and this version has more feeling...but just wish mainstreem katy wud show how great her voice really is

  • @krazykix91

Yeah, a lot of Christian music centers around LIVE praise and worship service and performance, so you have to be able to actually sing, as opposed to mainstream pop where computers do all your work for you.

  • i love this song.

  • sounds the same as now

  • i wish she had ever left this

now she is doing exactly what she was singing about never doing before

  • and where can i download this

  • @babbygurl59 i can send it to u..

  • @katykittykate thanks but i found a place and i found the album im so glad i got it wen i did it was the last copy!

  • christians gone wild she went from singing of god 2 kissing girls

  • @babbygurl59 aha ... i think so too its like a dramatical change !!!

  • @snowwhitequeenlover i know! 8D

  • @babbygurl59 yeah :O

  • I think you are all wrong, Katy Perry is the real her, Katy Hudson was the person her parents wanted her to be.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a christian, I love these songs, but I also know how being a christian puts a pressure on your shoulders.

  • @placetocrash Agreed, I'm also a Christian, but I love the old and new Katy. God's giving her the taste of life that she never got to have as a kid.

  • She got a GED in her freshman year. A GED is basically a high school diploma.

It's a test you take and study for and they hand you the diploma. She got that when she was 14 so she could be doone with school and pursue music.

  • Love this song, hate that shes now singing about kissing girls.

  • This actually isn't half bad. I have to say. Not your standard issue Christian rock.

  • @DejectedPanda its christian pop.

  • cool......

  • Katy :************

  • shes amazing..... hehe my ROLE MODLE!!

  • @witchgirl911 lol you want to be a church girl and then run off with a rocker and kiss girls XD Have fun! More power to you.

  • well i wouldent mind running off with a hot rocker guy hahahahha but i hate church they know nothing lol and kissing girls arent my thing hahahhaa

  • love it :D

first I thought that katy perry and katy hudson are 2 different people but that isnt true :P

but now i now that they are the same I have al of her songs :D this one is my favourite :D

  • I love this song Growing Pains!

    like a jazz??

  • nice song !

the best of katy hudson's album I find !

  • this song is so cute...its so different from her music now...but i love her music now too

  • shes cool such a bammer thats she doesnt make music like this anymore

  • absurd religions aside, her voice is still awesome.

  • i really hate how everyone is doggin on katy cause she used to sing christian music and she doesnt know. Maybe if people had given her a little tiny bit of credit when she sang christian music she wouldnt have had to resort to the "Sex sells" marketing scheme. the problem is, christian music is like taboo. And your right, its DAMN similar to the stuff that made her famous. The talent was always there, but until she sang about what society says is cool no one cared. And Jesus loves her still.

  • Speaking as a hardcore athiest, I still think her voice is awesome.

  • haha just wrote something similar like this as a comment to another of her old songs.. and now i see this. you're so right!

haha btw.. i love this song.. especially the "speaking parts" .. "i may not have a PHD, or speak in elequent philosophy!" and "be a part of the family tree, while the man upstairs does his work for me!" haha lovely :)

  • @xdizzlex21

    You are so right!

  • @xdizzlex21 You're right Jesus still loves her, but she will face the consequences of her actions... not only for her.. but for all of us too...

  • super ;D

  • love this song.

  • I think she may get some inspiration from Snow White, she put up a video of a scene from snow white on her blog, she kind of sounds like she is trying to sound like snowy at the end of this song, and her fashion is like a vamped up snowy. Just a thought of mine.

  • this song is so cool!!

  • loveeee this songgg <33

    love katy :D <333

  • wow, one of the boys and thinking of you combined :D

  • Comment removed

  • this isn't much different from her stuff now. im suprised she dissappeared and now she's back, with the same stuff. someone should've relised her potential, because they'd be racking in the money now with how successful she'd became.

    i really like this =)

  • iDont Usually Like Christian Music But Katys Is Definately an ACCEPTION :)

  • Typical case of a secluded girl falling for fame

  • Perry was born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson on October 25, 1984 in Santa Barbara, California, United States.[2] The middle child of two pastors, she has an older sister and younger brother.[3] She was a born again and sang in their church.[2] Her Evangelical mother, Mary Hudson, grew up in Southern California, and had "a tempestuous first marriage in Zimbabwe". She grew up listening to gospel music[4] and was not allowed to listen to secular music.

  • well know she cusses and stuff so those days are probley behind her.

  • what the hell happened to katy perry?

  • Just about the very first second I learned of Katy Perry's past, I had to listen to her songs released as Katy Hudson. And boy, amazing. This is clearly the best song on the album, the others are still up to Katy's standards, it's just that this one is so far up the others aren't quite there along with it, but they don't have to be. This song is just about perfect. I'm trying to find something the slightest bit wrong with it, and I keep failing. Her sweet voice is perfect as are the lyrics.

  • woah, exactly what i did and what i thoght bout this song!

  • wow, that's random ;p

  • reminds me of Fiona Apple...

  • I dont usually like christian music but i actually like this song.

  • yes, same person <3

  • is katy hudson and perry the same person????? Anyone?

  • yup same person

  • Did she drop out of high school? I'm curious she's been doing this since 16, then working on various different labels until she got her hit with her current records?

    Anyone???

  • she was homeschooled on the road, i am sure...

  • @missmissy1027 but she did get her GED

  • @missmissy1027 Yes...she was kinda closed in four walls by her parents.

  • @missmissy1027 she did drop out of school but she got her GED

  • @missmissy1027 @marisoldrama actually she got her GED. Wikipedia is good for information

  • @CallMeKills lol. No it's not. My friend put something (completely false) on the Merry Wives of Windsor page when we did the show back in June and it's still there. I makes me laugh to think of all the people who may have put it on their papers...

  • @marisoldrama -- I had read that she graduated early, actually I think after her freshman year (so yeah probably homeschooling for extra courses) so that she could pursue a music career.

  • @marisoldrama

I believe she got her GED at 16 and then pursued music after that.

  • @marisoldrama

She got her GED at 16. :)

  • @marisoldrama she dropped out and got her GED

  • @marisoldrama she got her GED as a freshman in highschool

  • @marisoldrama she got her GED in her freshmen year

  • @marisoldrama Wikipedia says the earned her GED in her freshman year of high school... I suppose Wikipedia is as good a source as any... ;)

  • @marisoldrama not really, this album wasn't very sucessful and there are a couple people i know with independent albums and go to school. by the time she became katy perry and started kissing girls and liking them, she was out of school.

  • blah, her music was 100% better as hudson. Too bad she went "secular". I feel terrible for favoriting "i kissed a girl", lol.

  • amazing voice

  • her album reminds me of regina spektors 11:11 album (this album not with i kissed a girl)

I'm loving both of hers :) Do you happen to know where you can download this album?

  • she was 16.

  • when the album was released.

  • @missmissy1027 2001

  • yeah, I would have never heard of her older stuff had she not made it big in the secular mainstream... I'm going to check out all her old stuff now.

  • what's funny is i had been listening to her old music for years before her more recent album was released!

  • I started listening to her when I saw the Sisterhood of the travelling pants

Her song simple! even tough it was Katy Perry Already :/

  • I love the sound of her voice.

  • amazing to think she was only 14 when she was recording the album, eh?

  • wow thats awesome.
