People, there is a reason others put Mariah Carey/ Jackson 5 it's because they both famously sung it. Nobody's saying Mariah wrote it. In fact, I bet Jackson 5 didn't write it, because they weren't allowed when they were Jackson 5. It was only when they were The Jackson's that they were allowed the freedom, hence moving to Epic Records rather than staying with Motown like Jermaine, who was married to Berry Gordy's daughter at the time. In my opinion, people should give credit to the artist who sings a cover if there are differences between it and the original. For example, if someone sang "I'll Stand By You" they should probably credit The Pretenders instead of Carrie Underwood since there aren't really any distinct differences between the two (as far as I know of). However if someone were to sing the Me First and the Gimme-Gimmes version of "I Believe I can fly" they should credit them because of the differences.
