It was great seeing you at the Potomac NAF Festival. My flute journey was definitely transformed by you when I attended your playshop at the 2006 festival - I gained confidence to come out of the "flute closet" & since then I love playing with others. Your backing tracks are great when I don't have the company of others. Your contribution to the NAF &the joy of 'playing' is immeasurable & warrants greater recognition. I look forward to seeing you soon, perhaps in Sept. @ Flute Haven - THANX!
@Roncace Interesting question ... the long tones are a technique to get in sync with the music and hear your own tuning with the backing track ... but after that I'll say that I was definitely playing from the heart (as much as one can with an earpiece and lights and a camera on you). But I'd love to hear how others perceive this ...
THANK YOU so much!!! I just played along with my conventional flute, although one day i'd like to get a native american flute. I've been plaing for 3 months and everything you say is so true. That was lovely. Right. Second go.
As usual Clint, you have assisted so many of us by enhancing our flute playing with your wonderful back tracks, we all look forward to future videos like this one, "perfectly" informative!
This is great! Just the jumpstart I needed to seriously consider using tracks. I'm definitely checking out the website for that. I picked up my Colyn F# and played along. FYI to others, I had to keep jumping back in the video because it kept buffering, which is unusual for me. But when I clicked "watch this video in a new window" button, I was able to watch all in one swoop. Thanks Clint!
Cheesy as hell.
About as Native American as a Jumbo Jet.

I'm not against this...please don't get offended because I am not criticizing you
But I am wondering...would you consider this playing from the heart?

Hi Clint, can you tell me the maker of the flute you are playing in this video? It's a great looking and great sounding flute.

@ThomasLosi HI Thomas ... thanks for the feedback ... That flute is a Woodland Voices F# made by Colyn Petersen - a wonderful flute!

Hi SearchingWolf ... the flute is a Colyn Petersen F# ... you can jam over the backing track yourself, about half way through the track ... enjoy!
