i was bout to say u will need a big tank for the fish in the 55 gallon i have a 150 gallon i just got i got a steel price on it 150 bucks and with filter decor ext. dose your jd prepare to mate even tho therer is no male in there mine builds a nest and goes on and of of being aggresive mine was all ways not realy aggresive last month was the first time i saw this behavior any cooment on that would be help full
@moormandrm nah i have a tank full of females so they really never try and mate i swore the bigger jd was a male with how aggressive he got but my gf who is really good at sexing fish said my whole tank is filled with females but as to the fish fighting and such no one really gets into it to much u'll see spirts of agression here or there but the oscar keeps everyone in check and the oscar was only getting pissy cause of the third log i had in the tank he had no where to hide or swim
@moormandrm wow dude relax i've had the tank for almost a yr now all of the fish are about a yr old theres 220 gallons worth of filteration on the tank and the aquaclear 110's have a higher gph rating than any canister on the market first off second the 30 gallon tank has 2 filters on it now as well a 30gallon aquaclear and a 50 gallon and again has more output then a canister filter and most of my customers are having issues with canisters and are converting to aquaclear
You really should not add anymore fish to that mix until you get a new tank. and dont say that your fish are fine the way they are, you wonder why you have water quality issues and fish that die..... i like the tank and im not trying to flame or anything i know it looks like it and probably is but thats just my .02....
@Bassintheweeds nah i hear ya and it wasn't a water quality issue basically what happened was all my fish got sick in the move cause i wasn't maintaining the filters and didn't have money to change the media and unfortunately only the strong survived everyone else that died died because i didn't changed the media for 2 months because i was trying to preserve the beneficial bacteria and unfortunately everyone died but i'm gonna get the 150 gallon eventually saving for that now
@moni9521 ya i found a few nice ones at work today i'll see about it though idk if i'm still gonna get one yet or not i might just get 2 more parrot cichlids and make the 30 gallon an all parrot cichlid tank
